By God’s grace after I say my rosary my deliverance prayers and just other prayers vocal prayers I have been meditating for about eight years now and I always pick up a book 1st and then I read it and whatever speaks to my heart I talk to the Lord about it and then I thank him and ask him for graces to practice certain virtues he’s requiring of me but I don’t do this the night before and I find this video so helpful . I kept asking Jesus why I’m not advancing in the spiritual life from what I gather I don’t have a spiritual Director but I’m Catholic, I go to mass every Sunday and often during the week and adoration once a week[ by the grace of God] I go to confession once a month as well. ,but something is wanting in me and this video helped thank you so much I will do that I will put my consideration/preparation on a index card and I will follow through with your advice the night before so that in the morning I meditate better. I find I’ve been saying perhaps to many vocal prayers that I lose the time for meditation and the Lord has let me see that this is not To be. My favorite books of the diary of Saint Faustina and Saint Teresa of Avila’s books. I find also very good meditations in a book called holy simplicity and as you can see from this long note I like that

Praise God in heaven the first part of this series really got me thinking about my prayer life and how little meditating I was doing. It’s a great thing to work on especially now lent is coming soon. The distractions can be a virtue if we keep returning to God in our minds.
Do not be conformed to the world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. God bless everyone.

Father, I listened to this talk again last night. I was inspired by your suggestion of meditating on the 7 sorrows of Our Blessed Mother.
My preparation was to read the first sorrow. The Presentation in the temple. From the book "The Virgin Mary in The Kingdom of The Divine Will. This morning, I meditated on what I read last night.
Thank you for your beautiful teachings. we are bkessed to have you Shepherd us. Always in my prayers.

Thank you very much. How to pray well/better is so welcome. The part about getting ready ahead of time with a plan is reverent, is actionable and wise. Looking forward to the next video.

Can some more specific examples of considerations be provided in the comments? This part seems difficult for me. Thank you.

Ave Maria! In the next video of this series, Father will be speaking about the considerations specifically, with examples. Hopefully this will help - it will be uploaded next week. God bless.

God bless you, Father. Just what I need at the moment. I recently turned back to our Lord, Jesus, having this huge urge to pray both mental prayer and the rosary, but needed guidance, and found your videos. 🙏🏻

    Thank you Fr. Philomeno!
I remember the roosters crowing loudly in Medjugorje!
In a quiet location it's not so annoying.
I went to a Christian meditation retreat with Fr. Lawrence
Freeman based on an ancient book, The Cloud of Unknowing.
The idea is to empty the mind and repeat "the little word",
such as Maran atha or Peace. Be still! Breathing in and breathing
    out.
My spiritual reading at the moment comprises a number of books:
To the priests, Our Lady's Beloved Sons. (Marian Movement of Priests)
Consecration to St. Joseph by Fr. Donald Calloway.
Teacings on the Divine Will to Luisa Piccarreta by Susanne James.
The Notebooks by the mystic Maria Valtorta

Feel proud for what you are doing father:
Pope Benedict XIV, grants an indulgence of seven years and seven times forty days, every time, to all those who, in a church or elsewhere, either in public or in private, shall teach the manner in making mental prayer, as well as to those who attend such instruction, provided that each time, being truly penitent, they confess their sins and receive Holy Communion. To those who shall teach assiduously the way to make mental prayer, as well as to those who shall, with the same assiduity, learn how to make it, the same Pope grants a penary indulgence once a month, on any day, when, being truly penitent, after confession and Communion, they shall pray for the peace and union among Christian princes, for the extirpation of heresy, and for the triumpgh of the Church. These indulgences are applicable to the souls in Purgatory.
