One important thing I forgot to mention at the end: the final scene from Clear Sky also most likely takes place in one of the other unknown laboratories on the site of the power plant.
As an electrician who mounts ventilation fans pretty frequently, it's not uncommon for them to spin on their own accord, while being unpowered, because wind forces air into the shafts and that air moves the fan around. If they were spinning because of electricity, they'd be spinning a lot faster, but a fan moved by wind will spin as lazily as those found in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games
Don't forget that we are in a power plant. If reactor 4 exploded and engine room of reactor 2 suffered a fire, reactor 1 and 3 were only stopped in November 1996 and December 2000. These two reactors could still be active in the stalker universe and so provide enough energy to power the laboratories
Okay so here’s my theory about the monolith: 1. It is a mega-advanced psy emitter that the c-con uses to issue orders to monolith troopers around the CNPP, monolithians use the smaller psy-emitters built as a crude replica of the large crystal(which is probably a hologram used to disguise the emitter). The “granting” a wish is probably a hallucination caused by the emitter, but in reality your brain is being reprogrammed to be a monolith commander because anyone who makes it the wish-granter is more than likely extremely skillful. 2. The campfires in the main reactor hall was used by the monolithians to keep warm or cook food(extremely radioactive food but food nonetheless) and was abandoned when the assault on NPP happened This theory is not related to the wish-granter but how the faction gets all their equipment: The monolith use both the brain-scorcher and outside arms-dealers to get their equipment, the brain scorcher turns stalkers into monolithians so they would repurpose their equipment into monolith armor and the design of the armor comes from the original group that ventured to the center. The monolith probably has contact with outside arms-dealers who in exchange takes the artifacts that monolithians collect and in turn supply them with: weapons, armor, ammo etc. Now why do I say this? Well, I don’t think it is a coincidence that both the crate of artifacts and the crate containing an exoskeleton, ammo, grenades and medical items are in the same room. Well these are my theories about the monolith. Hope you enjoyed
For the unmodded base game, I never got any other wish granter ending than the I wanna be a rich one. Anomaly mod was pretty neat, because you could select what you'd like to wish and best part of that was that if you'd wish the Zone to go away, it would crash your game with an error message in russian that said: "Wish Granted"
@@anomalousdugout9557 Yea. Randomly a lot of megamods appeared and they loan assets and gameplay features from each other and I can't tell which one got feature x first. Got stuck with Anomaly because, others I tried were a pretty unstable and prone for crashes. Dead Air doesn't even wanna start on this system.
It's very weird for me that Monolith faction, the one who revered the wish granter zealously, are not enountered at all near the monolith itself. Perhaps the wish granter sends subconscious order to the troops to "do not engage anyone entering the wish granter chamber" in order to allow the wish granter to eliminate the threat itself under the guise of wish, or assimilate it to join the monolith troops. Considering that C-consciousness was the one behind the wish granter (and basically the scientists who created the zone in the first place), and the fact that there's a hologram of monolith in their control center, I can theorize something like this: When someone is talking to the wish granter, the scientists are considering whether this person is worthy to be added to monolith troops (if someone is strong enough to make it through the whole cult of murderous monolith troops, it's certainly a useful asset to make them join the monolith) or if he either knows too much or not fit to join the monolith, eliminated under the guise of wish. Considering that the psychic emission from CNPP is much more powerful than anywhere else in the zone (it's the epicenter after all), it could be utilized by C-consciousness in any form they like to twist the wishes. Based from the false endings in SoC, I can theorize how they used it: 1. I want the zone to disappear: The trees and grass is merely a subliminal psychic projection, probably shown by wish granter via the blinding white light that precedes this vision, while in reality this light either fries the retina, clouds the iris and pupil or the wish granter straight up burn the optic nerve to make Strelok blind 2. I want to be rich: Simple to do, send a subliminal vision to the target to make them see coins while using the psychic power to telekinetically looses the bolt on overhead structural steel beams to crush Strelok 3.I want to rule the world: Telekinetically lift Strelok before forcefully consume his consciousness and disintegrate his body using raw psychic pulse (this is not in the same sense of joining C-consciousness) 4. I want immortality: Telekinetically disables Strelok's motoric nervous systems by either paralyzing him permanently or fries it, while at the same time sending an illusion of him turning into metal 5. Humanity is corrupt, mankind must be controlled: Send Strelok subliminal images of death and destruction while at the same time blind him (effectively the same like "I want the zone to disappear" ending, but replace the trees and grass with images of death and destruction Amusingly, there's no corpses at all in the wish granter chamber, despite the presence of campfires, maybe the C-consciousness has a directive to monolith troops the dispose any of the bodies in the wish granter chamber, to maintain the image that "this wish granter does not kill anyone making a wish on it"
The first time I approached the Sarcophagus I heard that deep voice from the monolith and got chills. Definitely the hardest location in the game because I died several times when I was battling against the Monolith faction. The only let down is that once you enter there, there's no point of return so, the chances to replay the game and revisit locations in case you missed something is by reloading saves.
The reason the zone still has power is because the other reactors in the CNPP were never shut down. They stayed active for a long time after the incident in real life, so its easy to assume that the same thing happened in stalker, and either the monolith faction or the zone anomalous energy itself keeps them running.
Even though I'm a horror fan and love the horror segments in games, going down into any underground places in Stalker always put me on edge.. In fact, I've made it a point to never go underground without a shotgun and some grenades. God, I love this game. Along with Thief: The Dark Project, no other game can suck me whole into their world because of their atmosphere and ambience. Metro Exodus comes close, but Stalker is just surreal.
The Posibility of active laboratories, mainly of one manufacturing the Gauss rifles is very interesting. The fact that this place might be in STALKER 2 Is even more interesting, because it means a near unlimited supply of batteries for the rifle. Once again a good video, clearly explained and not hard to understand! Well done man!
Just finished the full playlist on this man. Gotta say really well done. You’ve given me a whole new perspective on these locations. The hundreds of times I ran by all of this I didn’t put too much thought into it - crazy to see how much detail the devs put into everything, and just how much the lore plays into everything. Keep up the amazing work on this series man!
The CNNP/Sarcophagus is my favourite level in any video game ever. From the allout warfare on the outside to you having no choice but to slip in due to the emisson and the almost total silence when inside . The inside is so goddamn eerie and hostile with the decay and absurd radiation levels. You almost feel like you're on a different planet where humans have no business being, yet all of this was created and eventually left by humans. Even without the context of the anomalous zone and the lore of stalker, this level manages to create an atmosphere that is to this day unmatched and just watching pictures or videos of it evokes a feeling in me that i cannot describe.
An horror movie with no scary monsters but yet, still manage to inspire fear. Plus the ridiculous amount of Monoliths is enough to be on edge on every corner
Small correction - that symbol on the crates next to the radioactive symbol on the heavy crates is a biohazard symbol. It is used for infectious materials and other hazardous biological stuff, like genetically modified cells / organism. This means that it is even more likely that the crates are connected to mutants. It's probably some kind of mutation-inducing goo like FEV in fallout games, Phazon in Metroid Prime, or the T-virus in Resident Evil. It does not exist IRL thank God, but I would label it with those symbols if it did.
"Thankfuly it doesn't exist IRL" LMAO you never know what the lizard bois be cooking outside of the public view Jokes aside i do agree on the fact that it maybe connected to the mutants since the CNPP contains other equipment very similar to the ones we find on the other labs and the fact the Monolith control room it's protected by Pytogeists which would be extremely difficult to capture and release inside the power plant
2 things, perhaps the fact that fragments of an artifact are used is meant to hint that using anomalies as things like a power source were also being done. Also, the numbers used for the various labs imply in their very numbers that there are a ton of labs, on the high end we know they use double digits, do maybe as many as 100 (using 00). We are talking about a very large area with little human activity and nuclear power on tap prior to the 2nd accident...... this in itself leaves a lot open for possible further exploration, and not everything need be a "lab".
idk what was more challenging on that level either trying to get to it and having the helicopters blow you up every second or the monolith popping out of corners with as vals and f2000's
The wish granter might actually be real and grant wishes, but in a twisted way. In S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Anomaly i made a wish for world peace, and afterwards the whole Zone became empty. No stalkers, no animals, no mutants, no anomalys, not even traders. The only trader left was.... you guessed it, Sidorovich.
We know from the old builds that Sidorovich needs to be in the game, or it won't work :D When level changers weren't invented yet, and there were only separate levels, which needed to be started one by one, the devs placed Sidorovich in every level to ensure the game works well. In fact, even after level changers were a thing, they still placed Sidorovich everywhere, mostly at the start of the level. And for some reason they never hide him, or at least not everywhere. So I think Sidorovich is the true lord of The Zone :D
One slight bit of misinformation in this is that the original actual sarcophagus did have quite large openings in it's roof area. Birds were quite commonly found flying in and out. They weren't from parts falling off or away, they were purposefully left there, somewhat for specific engineering reasons, and somewhat because the extreme conditions involved during the construction of the sarcophagus. It was literally just make shift constructed over-top and incorporating the remnants of the destroyed building that housed reactor 4.
ua-cam.com/video/Lxhvn3OJ-eg/v-deo.html Good older short documentary that shows some details of the old sarcophagus. The weakening structure and you can even see large amounts of sunlight inside the sarcophagus.
really good video, much needed in my opinion since it gives us alot of lore. My Theory about the Monolith: The C-Conciousness or at least something like that already existed and helped to make the explosion, and did something to make the Monolith or atleast building the ground for it: between the 1st and 2nd disaster the C-con prepares the 2nd disaster giving the Monolith a final push and creating it, and after those years the c-con is finally able to act and collecting people, to success in controlling the world. The Monolith forces are just their minions, to help them by guarding the c-con to prepare for the domination, maybe the monolith forces even will be their army- their soldiers to accquire dominance but this is a highly unlikeable theory though its not impossible
Great work mate, as always. I noticed some stutterings in your videos. Does it have to do with your PC? Would gladly support you on patreon if that's the case.
questions about sarcophagus are serious both in-game and in real life if radiation contaminated such huge area why didn't they isolate entire building? walls may be containing the radiation but broken windows do not - question of why was entire power plant oparational for so long after the disaster completely aside... if sarcophagus was in such poor condition it started falling apart and huge doses of radiation were released... that would be a very serious problem i know it's a game and it has to happen but other countries would detect it and if ukrainian government said "we can't get there because of some mercs" or "it's complicated" we would experience first international invasion of nuclear power plant also in regards to monolith i like to think that it simply is the source of "the voice" and in case of "granting wishes" they always are granted but in a twisted way wich might as well be just killing stalkers or frying their brains through illusions (if radiation doesn't kill them first) i don't believe roof actually collapses on strelok in "i want to be rich" and it's not likely that he's turned into a statue in "i want to be immortal" in case of "i want the zone to disappear" he's blinded and teleports are real so he can be sent to outskirts of the zone just like monolith is the source of the voice drawing stalkers right into psy-emissons it might also be relaying orders to monolith stalkers after all they mention "not hearing the voice" in CoP and it is highly unlikely that they would hear the same "come to me" messages and as for monolith elite forces SOMEHOW not being able to stop strelok... well magic of medkits aside - player goes through monolith forces meaning strealok can as well
This has to be one of the most weird things about stalker. There is no logic for how do Monoliths "survive" stay in Sarcophagus. Realistically, they would die in a matter of days staying there with anti rad equipament. Second, maybe the "monolith cristal" is actually an anomaly / big artefact that has unique proprieties + the radiation down there may affect the players mind. Thinking this way, that's probably the reason why every "choice" from the Monolith in SoC has a bad ending. U just die, it's impossible to stay there bcs of the radiation.
Might be the power comes from reactor n: 3, probably they lowered the power levels to other labs like Miracle Machine because some labs requires way more power like the Brain Scorcher
I have a hypothesis about anomalies and the Wish Granter. The Zone is the physical manifestation of a rift in the noosphere, and emissions are outbursts of psychic energy. Maybe anomalies are a manifestation of human creativity; we can imagine fantastic and impossible things and the Zone reflects that by breaking the laws of physics. The Wish Granter may be another machine that C-Consciousness uses to manipulate anomalies in and around the Sarcophagus. We know C-Consciousness can manipulate emissions and create teleport anomalies, and I don't remember encountering anomalies inside the Sarcophagus itself ither than teleporters. Perhaps the Wish Granter has some control over them, and that's how it's able to grant wishes. C-Consciousness uses it to generate anomalies based on the person's wish that fulfill them in a terrible way while also keeping the Sarcophagus clear of any dangerous ones.
1:50 That radioactive cloud didn't just contaminate eastern Europe, but all of Europe. People in France were found with the same cancer type and same severity as in Russia around the plant.
So the wish granter is an electronic device a type of Psi Kaymanov emitter, developed by the C- Con from the technologies used in the Brain Scorcher and the psi-emitter or "miracle machine" used in lab X-16. This device is capable of creating the voice that the player hear inside his head, and the visual illusion that it is a glowing object. Are all those information correct?
If you are armed with an IL86 (Enfield Bullpup SA80) and moderately irradiated - the voice of the monolith actually says "We're no strangers to love. You know the rules and so do I."
the gauss rifle used to be the object 62, an emp gun used to turn off electric devices from a distance. made and tested at zaton by a group of scientists and technicians including but not limited to lebedev and kardan, probably before the events of clear sky and all stalker games. during the clean up after failed clear sky raid on cnpp, one of the monolith's technicians picked up the gun and modified it to use it's electromagnetic properties to speed up bullets with instead of gunpowder, essentially creating a very silent, powerful and accurate sniper rifle. while both 62 and gauss use the portable version with baterries made of flash artifact, the big prototype located in the underground lab at zaton shows that it can be powered by cable as long as you have enough voltage. the location has proven to be perfect for the job since it has an entire power distribution facility remnants with some juice still in it, now known as iron forest anomaly. no one knows why they made the prototype this big, but i have a theory that it was made to be mounted on a tank or something and the later developed and perfected hand held version just proven to be more efficient for combat. imagine an anti-aircraft unit pulling up with this mf canon, the enemy helicopters and planes would just be like "nah" and turn back to mother russia or entirely desert to some exotic islands for vacation
Before degtyarew got his hands on the 62's technical documentation, the monolith must have already infiltrated the lab. Both doors and the electronic lock are still intact(monolith usually blast their way in unless they have better option to enter), so they probably interrogated now braindead lebedev to teach them how to make more of this guns and so he gave them cords for the lab and a key card. The evidence for monolith's soldiers presence inside the lab is lots of good supplies and their standard sleeper agent stash marked by a chalk with their logo, containing gauss batteries and couple of medkits. It's very unlikely that they made their better version at the spot, but they must have been there at least 2 times - first to steal a copy of the documentation and some parts, and second to prepare a stash with newly produced batteries. However if they stayed at the place for a while to manufacture at least 20(i think, there's a lot of these in shoc), they must have taken in some zombie pets for themselves for protection and fun, which would explain why zombies in stalker uniforms are roaming the upper corridors of the lab. They probably even got a baby pseudogiant in there to later grow up and be a pain in the ass for major. Idk these guys are already insane, this is exactly what would happen if their insanity got a bonus from a boredom and loneliness of being on a boring job far away from home. I would have to do my research for that, but i'm pretty sure that there are some monolithian bodies ("decorative" i might add, you can't loot them) around the lab and iron forest. I never saw an active monolithian at the zaton or jupiter, and they are sticking to pripyat and the underpass. Aside of the group who got their brains back, the monolithians hasn't visited this two locations for quite some time because they don't have any reason to do so after they got the guns, which explains decayed-looking bodies all around wearing their uniforms and zero alive ones
@@alpakdbz Great timing stalker, I just finished my script for a future video about the testing workshop and the story of the Gauss rifle. I mostly came to the same conclusions as yours, but with some differences. For instance, I believe that item 62 was always intended to be a weapon (not an EMP) because it is said so by Cardan. Also, from documents found in Jupiter factory we learn that at least 78 units were produced and sent to the X-labs. Therefore, I think that the Monolithians never made the guns themselves, they simply found the remaining copies by visiting the labs. But who knows, the details of the story are still unclear...
well, now when you said about them being sent somewhere, there was a document in jupiter plant saying something about the transporting 62s via underpass
@@anomalousdugout9557 so maybe... they got their hands on a couple of these guns, but they needed a technology to repair it and make some ammo. and here's when zaton lab comes to play Actually, does the small lab complex under the iron forest even have a name? is it even one of the x ones?
Just a fun theory I made for fun and I know it’s not true but still fun What if monolith are hallucinating and not brainwashed Or what if they keep everyone away from the center bc they believe the wish granter should be their and their alone Or mabey they were blackmailed by the scientist Anywho just something I thought for fun
"Oh Monolith, we do not hear you. Why have you left us, oh Monolith? We await your orders, oh Monolith." With the wish granter gone, I think the monolith as a faction will fall into disarray and chaos. Without the power of machines like the wish granter and brain scorcher to thin attacking foes, groups like the military or STALKERs will have much more effectiveness in fighting the monolith. I'm excited to see what becomes of the monolith in STALKER 2 and who will control their territory.
@@anomalousdugout9557 i don't know about that. watching you play as you describe the lore behind every place in the zone with your legendary insight would be a very unique brand of content IMO. either way i'm glad i found your channel
@@mxkinist I see what you mean, but I'm not confident enough in my ability to provide this sort of content. My videos are well structured and informative because there is a lot of preparation behind them, something that I would lose in most part during live gameplay. But who knows, maybe one day I'll change my mind.
To give a little idear of the power in play that upper biological shield, nicknamed "Elena" , was 1,000 tons on its own and had hundreds of 350kg's channel caps with in it and it threw it clean off through the roof
I wouldn't be surprised if some of the damage to the interior of the plant's basement might've been done by the first military raid aimed at destroying the plant, the one that indirectly led to the creation of Duty (if they even got that far, that is). Maybe they found a door they couldn't open and used demo charges to blow up a wall so that they could get to where they were supposed to set up the nuke that they were supposedly carrying (yes, apparently they were supposed to use a backpack nuke or something like that to blow up the plant for...reasons, there's a reason people say that "military intelligence" is an oxymoron). Also, you're incorrect about the roof of the Sarcophagus. It was a rush job that was only, at best, partly finished, and in fact part of the impetus for the New Safe Confinement's installment was when a support beam inside the Sarcophagus collapsed, sending radioactive dust into the air and threatening the collapse of the entire structure. As for what the Monolith actually does...well, it is possible, as somebody pointed out, that it's actually an incredibly powerful and advanced Kaymanov Emitter that either brainwashes or kills anybody that tries to use it while projecting illusions to hide its true nature...or it could be a genuinely reality warping device of sorts, like an artificial anomaly. Based on its location, the Monolith Control Center might be near the original control room for Reactor Four, and may even use some of the original equipment used for controlling the reactor to keep the Monolith running. That said, a device like that, and the other emitters would require a lot of power, so where's the power coming from? One potential theory is that the C-Consciousness may have gotten one of the other reactors, most likely Unit 1, back up and running. Unit 1 was the last reactor to be shut down at the plant, back in 2001, but perhaps this was all a sham, and all they did was make some modifications to it so that it could keep running in a lower power state for their purposes, allowing them to stretch out the fuel supply. The only question, of course, is where they're getting the water from (necessary both to generate power and to cool the reactor), since the pools outside the plant are all drained, but it's possible they're just pumping water in from the Pripyat River...but then why don't we see Unit 1's cooling tower venting steam? Also, what about the turbine hall (no working turbine means no generators turn, which means no power), and the various steam and water pipes that would need maintaining? One can only guess.
Yes, I know about the mission to plant nuclear explosives in the center of the Zone. Maybe you're right and some of the soldiers did manage to enter the Sarcophagus, but then I wonder who or what stopped them, since the Monolith faction did not yet exist. Alright, I did not know that the Sarcophagus's integrity was at such a risk, my bad then. Thanks for correcting me. As for the question of where the energy comes from, I am planning on making a video specificly on the matter. Of course I don't have the answer, but a few theories, with the use of other reactors being one of them. As always, nice to read your opinions and theories!
I have considered it, but I don't think it's as interesting as underground locations. Besides, there are so many areas in total that such a series would take forever to complete, and I'm running low on time before the release of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2.
Great video. C-cons but you propably know has Its own Lab under the generators called Monolith warlab. I have video of it on my Channel. It looks almost same as X8
Unfortunately, the game does not let you go back, unless you cheat or use glitches of course. However, after exiting the sarcophagus there is a section on the roof, where if you look at the holes in the structure you can see that the Monolith is not there anymore.
How did you know what the Russian dialog means from the wish granter and from the crystals that you destroy in the end? Asked someone to translate it for you? Because the translation is perfect
The wiki has a translation of the wish granter quotes, and the voice when you destroy the crystals is already in English. I repeated it because it was not clear with all the background noise.
I have a huge question, if the monolith can speak to the fanatics why can't it just say that you aka (Strelok) is coming to have his wish granted and to let him through? (of course they are protecting it but still)
Alright, here's what I think. Firstly, I don't believe that the Monolith "knows" that Strelok is coming. The messages it sends in your head is most likely a signal that evey stalker in the vicinity receives. Secondly, there is no guarantee that Strelok will go to the Wish Granter. If the troops let him through, he could go to the secret door easily. Thirdly, it would be very suspicious if suddenly, the monolith fighters stopped protecting the Monolith, especially since this is what they have done from the very first moment you've encountered them.
Dang i'm gonna miss this game. Yes i was in the sarcoghagus ( idk how to write it) in STALKER Anomaly i wished: I want to be immortal! But nothing. I was disguised myself as Monolithian troop and yeah i was not fighted off the troops i'm just walkin' and find the wish granter from China. Anyway i loved STALKER.... so much i meet that game about in 2028 :). Yeah that's right but l4d3 is gonna be released in 2028 February. Nevermind that was a Kick-Ass game. Now i moved to the Source Engine games aka Valve games. Anyway my friend you can keep out the goody worky oh and yes The campfire stories are left in your channel. Ok goodbye lad ;) Sorry for writing bad i was writing on mobile.
You were wrong with the old sarcophagus,it did break,it cracked and rusted and leaked radiation, then in 2016,I think the new sarcophagus was build, named "The new safe confinement".
It appears that I was wrong, but what I was trying to say is that the real Sarcophagus never crumbled like the one in the game. Sure, it did have some problems and leaked radiation, but the one in game has holes everywhere!
This is where I just can't play anymore. I downloaded the trilogy on Xbox and I absolutely loved Shadow Chernobyl until the NPP. I stupidly went in with not much and realized it was a lethal mistake. I reloaded a way earlier save got as prepared as I thought I needed to be or could be and it didn't make much of a difference at all. I quickly ran out of all my med kits and anti-rad medication. The monolith we're essentially terminators. And the artifacts for reduced radiation don't seem to do dick. And finally in a last ditch effort I hung my head and dropped the difficulty down to novice, which again...didn't do ANYTHING! I've never given up on a game in my life but I just don't see a way forward. I embrace super difficult but the sarcophagus just seems straight up unfair. Am I just stupid? Is there a way easier way? Because i dont see one
The Wish Granter won't be a right ending. You have to unlock the secret door using a decoder, and fight through the exterior of the CNPP, and then destroy the C-Con. The Wish Granter is the bad ending.
One important thing I forgot to mention at the end: the final scene from Clear Sky also most likely takes place in one of the other unknown laboratories on the site of the power plant.
It looks like inside of the brain schorcer
But i am not sure 100%
the monolith is a monkeys paw
Okay so here’s my theory about the monolith:
2. The campfires in the main reactor hall was used by the monolithians to keep warm or cook food(extremely radioactive food but food nonetheless) and was abandoned when the assault on NPP happened
This theory is not related to the wish-granter but how the faction gets all their equipment:
The monolith use both the brain-scorcher and outside arms-dealers to get their equipment, the brain scorcher turns stalkers into monolithians so they would repurpose their equipment into monolith armor and the design of the armor comes from the original group that ventured to the center.
Alright, solid theories you got there. I did enjoy reading them, thanks for sharing!

Considering that C-consciousness was the one behind the wish granter (and basically the scientists who created the zone in the first place), and the fact that there's a hologram of monolith in their control center, I can theorize something like this:
When someone is talking to the wish granter, the scientists are considering whether this person is worthy to be added to monolith troops (if someone is strong enough to make it through the whole cult of murderous monolith troops, it's certainly a useful asset to make them join the monolith) or if he either knows too much or not fit to join the monolith, eliminated under the guise of wish. Considering that the psychic emission from CNPP is much more powerful than anywhere else in the zone (it's the epicenter after all), it could be utilized by C-consciousness in any form they like to twist the wishes. Based from the false endings in SoC, I can theorize how they used it:
1. I want the zone to disappear: The trees and grass is merely a subliminal psychic projection, probably shown by wish granter via the blinding white light that precedes this vision, while in reality this light either fries the retina, clouds the iris and pupil or the wish granter straight up burn the optic nerve to make Strelok blind
2. I want to be rich: Simple to do, send a subliminal vision to the target to make them see coins while using the psychic power to telekinetically looses the bolt on overhead structural steel beams to crush Strelok
3.I want to rule the world: Telekinetically lift Strelok before forcefully consume his consciousness and disintegrate his body using raw psychic pulse (this is not in the same sense of joining C-consciousness)
4. I want immortality: Telekinetically disables Strelok's motoric nervous systems by either paralyzing him permanently or fries it, while at the same time sending an illusion of him turning into metal
5. Humanity is corrupt, mankind must be controlled: Send Strelok subliminal images of death and destruction while at the same time blind him (effectively the same like "I want the zone to disappear" ending, but replace the trees and grass with images of death and destruction
Amusingly, there's no corpses at all in the wish granter chamber, despite the presence of campfires, maybe the C-consciousness has a directive to monolith troops the dispose any of the bodies in the wish granter chamber, to maintain the image that "this wish granter does not kill anyone making a wish on it"
Alright, thanks for sharing your thoughts and detailed explanations of the endings!
4:02 that hole was possibly made by strelok and his group in their first expedition into the center of the zone
tip: In sarcophagus the first crate you see has a chance to contain Vintar bc. Without the chance I couldn't finished this game.
Oh I guess I never got lucky then.
Yes I understand that.
The reason the zone still has power is because the other reactors in the CNPP were never shut down.
They stayed active for a long time after the incident in real life, so its easy to assume that the same thing happened in stalker, and either the monolith faction or the zone anomalous energy itself keeps them running.
That's one of the possibilities, yes.
And those secret labs needed plenty of power, so it would make sense they kept reactors 1-3 running for that reason
I understand that. I think everyone who played S.T.A.L.K.E.R. will know what you are talking about.
Even the rodents, sometimes put a cold chill down my spine... Or more like shoot one or a few out of it.
Yes, and who knows what else they could be doing down there... Anyway, thanks!
Really glad to have found this channel, keep up the good work!
Thanks stalker.
Alright, glad to read that! Work on this series is far from over, so you can expect some new episodes.
There's this area which was cut from the final game called "Generators" with the "War-Lab" inside of it.
But I'm sure you already know that
Yes that's right. I don't consider it as canon since it did not appear in the final games, but I might take a look at it in a future video regardless.
"Thankfuly it doesn't exist IRL"
LMAO you never know what the lizard bois be cooking outside of the public view
Jokes aside i do agree on the fact that it maybe connected to the mutants since the CNPP contains other equipment very similar to the ones we find on the other labs and the fact the Monolith control room it's protected by Pytogeists which would be extremely difficult to capture and release inside the power plant
Thank you for the great video bratan, now I can explain the STALKER lore to my work friends in details 😎
Great then!
Great video! I also like the use of Stalker's soundtrack
Thank you.
Great vid :) Looking forward to your stalker 2 content when it comes ;)
Thank you stalker.
Loved the video man good job like always keep em coming stalker!
Thanks.
It was literally just make shift constructed over-top and incorporating the remnants of the destroyed building that housed reactor 4.
ua-cam.com/video/Lxhvn3OJ-eg/v-deo.html
Good older short documentary that shows some details of the old sarcophagus. The weakening structure and you can even see large amounts of sunlight inside the sarcophagus.

Yes, I learned that some time ago.
@@anomalousdugout9557 ok
really good video, much needed in my opinion since it gives us alot of lore.
Thanks, alright that's an interesting theory, unlikely indeed but who knows.
please continue making videos and dont give up! you are amazing!
Thanks, I'll do my best.
Great work mate, as always. I noticed some stutterings in your videos. Does it have to do with your PC? Would gladly support you on patreon if that's the case.
Thanks. It's S.T.A.L.K.E.R. after all, whatever the machine it will always lack optimization. As for Patreon, I will never use that kind of stuff.
This is one of the best underground episode ever
I guess it is.
questions about sarcophagus are serious both in-game and in real life
if radiation contaminated such huge area why didn't they isolate entire building? walls may be containing the radiation but broken windows do not - question of why was entire power plant oparational for so long after the disaster completely aside...
if sarcophagus was in such poor condition it started falling apart and huge doses of radiation were released... that would be a very serious problem
i know it's a game and it has to happen but other countries would detect it and if ukrainian government said "we can't get there because of some mercs" or "it's complicated" we would experience first international invasion of nuclear power plant
also in regards to monolith i like to think that it simply is the source of "the voice" and in case of "granting wishes"
they always are granted but in a twisted way wich might as well be just killing stalkers or frying their brains through illusions (if radiation doesn't kill them first)
i don't believe roof actually collapses on strelok in "i want to be rich"
and it's not likely that he's turned into a statue in "i want to be immortal"
in case of "i want the zone to disappear" he's blinded and teleports are real so he can be sent to outskirts of the zone
just like monolith is the source of the voice drawing stalkers right into psy-emissons it might also be relaying orders to monolith stalkers
after all they mention "not hearing the voice" in CoP and it is highly unlikely that they would hear the same "come to me" messages
and as for monolith elite forces SOMEHOW not being able to stop strelok...
well magic of medkits aside - player goes through monolith forces
meaning strealok can as well
My friend, thank you for this channel.
Glad you like it.
Yes, that's a possibility. I am planning on taking a closer look at this issue in a future video.
Scott Manley's video on then 1986 disaster is pretty spot on, and compact. I recommend it for ppl who are interested.

YES I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THISSS
Great!
1:50 That radioactive cloud didn't just contaminate eastern Europe, but all of Europe. People in France were found with the same cancer type and same severity as in Russia around the plant.
Yes.
For the algorithm!
Ahahah yes of course!
the gauss rifle used to be the object 62, an emp gun used to turn off electric devices from a distance. made and tested at zaton by a group of scientists and technicians including but not limited to lebedev and kardan, probably before the events of clear sky and all stalker games. during the clean up after failed clear sky raid on cnpp, one of the monolith's technicians picked up the gun and modified it to use it's electromagnetic properties to speed up bullets with instead of gunpowder, essentially creating a very silent, powerful and accurate sniper rifle. while both 62 and gauss use the portable version with baterries made of flash artifact, the big prototype located in the underground lab at zaton shows that it can be powered by cable as long as you have enough voltage. the location has proven to be perfect for the job since it has an entire power distribution facility remnants with some juice still in it, now known as iron forest anomaly. no one knows why they made the prototype this big, but i have a theory that it was made to be mounted on a tank or something and the later developed and perfected hand held version just proven to be more efficient for combat. imagine an anti-aircraft unit pulling up with this mf canon, the enemy helicopters and planes would just be like "nah" and turn back to mother russia or entirely desert to some exotic islands for vacation
@@anomalousdugout9557 so maybe... they got their hands on a couple of these guns, but they needed a technology to repair it and make some ammo. and here's when zaton lab comes to play
Actually, does the small lab complex under the iron forest even have a name? is it even one of the x ones?
@@alpakdbz Yes, that's exactly what I'm referring to.
Just a fun theory I made for fun and I know it’s not true but still fun
What if monolith are hallucinating and not brainwashed
Or what if they keep everyone away from the center bc they believe the wish granter should be their and their alone
Or mabey they were blackmailed by the scientist

"Oh Monolith, we do not hear you.
Why have you left us, oh Monolith?
We await your orders, oh Monolith."
With the wish granter gone, I think the monolith as a faction will fall into disarray and chaos. Without the power of machines like the wish granter and brain scorcher to thin attacking foes, groups like the military or STALKERs will have much more effectiveness in fighting the monolith. I'm excited to see what becomes of the monolith in STALKER 2 and who will control their territory.
Yes, we already started to see this in Call of Pripyat and I'm eager to see how it continues in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2!

@@mxkinist I see what you mean, but I'm not confident enough in my ability to provide this sort of content. To give a little idear of the power in play that upper biological shield, nicknamed "Elena" , was 1,000 tons on its own and had hundreds of 350kg's channel caps with in it and it threw it clean off through the roof
Yes, nuclear reactors don't mess around.
I gotta replay this trilogy man.
Yes, the Zone is calling for you stalker.
The 2nd sarcophagus was construckted because the first one was showing signs of failure

Would you do series about normal places? Like Bar, Cordon etc
I have considered it, but I don't think it's as interesting as underground locations. Besides, there are so many areas in total that such a series would take forever to complete, and I'm running low on time before the release of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2.
Is it canon that Strelok decoded the door to the secret lab instead of simply opening it by throwing a Gauss rifle at the door hinge?
The Monolith would probably be more frightening if I knew what it was saying. If I had to guess I would say that it is sharing a pelmeni recipe.
Nice video. Do you think that the CNPP will be replaced by the name: New Safe Confinement 😀😀 in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.2 ??
Thanks. I don't think the name will change, it is just too iconic.
I was wondering if you could olso make a video about pripyat underground or lab x8.
Yes, it is planned. It will come eventually.
lights and vents are powerd by remaining reactors
Great video. C-cons but you propably know has Its own Lab under the generators called Monolith warlab. I have video of it on my Channel. It looks almost same as X8
Thanks. I know about the warlab, but it's not featured in the official games, and therefore not really canon.
Yeah, X8 is based on WarLab, they reused it for COP.
Is it possible to check out where the monolith should be after destroying the emitters?
Unfortunately, the game does not let you go back, unless you cheat or use glitches of course. However, after exiting the sarcophagus there is a section on the roof, where if you look at the holes in the structure you can see that the Monolith is not there anymore.

True.
