This is one of the best introductory or back-to-basics d-zone coverage videos I've seen. Thanks!

Zach, this was an excellent video...simple and concise. It helped me to further understand my responsibilities as a Left winger. My biggest problem is that I thought I was responsible for the puck low against the boards into the corner...but my responsibility is to stay higher in the zone and protect against the high pass to the defenseman on my side. I'm playing pickup, so everything is pretty sloppy out there, which only helped to further confuse me. So it's great to get a much better read on what I'm really supposed to be doing in the D-zone....

It's maddening being a Dman and not having your forwards play their positions correctly. Makes your job 10 times harder.

A significant topic never really covered...is the role of skates in blocking passes to the slot. Stick on stick is important....but also using skates to block passes. I can't count how often my skates block passes...because they are lined up properly to make it very difficult for a skater to put a puck through that perceived hole.

Rd should be at far post side of net, 1 so nobody sneaks in, and 2, to be support for the Ld if he has to pass behind the net or reverse. That’s the only change I’d make

I think this is really dependent on where the opponent is. You wouldn't leave a guy sitting in front of the net or on near post just because you are playing the flip of the ice, would you?

Where does the center go if they put both offensemen in front of the net?
