- This is the first video I ever made on UA-cam. I hope you like it. Some of my closest friends were having a hard time in their life, so I made this for them. This song is not mine nor are some of the pictures. I hope you enjoy it! Mary Chapin Carpenter is one of the worlds greatest song writers.
One of my favorite songs of all time. Brings a tear to my eye every time, but I'm compelled to listen at least twice every time. Such beauty and soul.
She's an absolute philosopher of the heart. I spent the entire '90's working in Country radio, and she was the most talented singer songwriter hands down in my opinion!!! Thanx for the terrific post!!!

I don't know if Mary wrote this with Jesus in mind as an inspiration, but this song is inspirational, moving beautiful, and more. It sure sounds like the love of Jesus for us all to hold on to . And to her credit I once heard John Jennings say no one decodes the message of the heart like Mary Chapin Carpenter. I love this song and the pictures that you have accompanied it with are a heart cry for love and fulfillment. Thank You

From "The Calling" (2007). I think I may go to Kansas City this summer and fall in love with her all over again. Songs like this are why.

I have been following Mary Chapin since the early '90's. I would have loved to meet a woman with such depth. Alas, there is only one Mary Chapin. But, at least I can enjoy the music she shares from her soul. Thanks, Mary Chapin!!

This song reminds me of the things that I ohh so wish I could say to my mom but just can't find the words. It's true that I cannot change the past although I wish everyday that I could. All I can say is Here I Am.

Beautiful song. And I was really pleasantly surprised with the Christian imagery and Bible verses! It made it just a little bit sweeter. It's too bad that Mary herself has no use for the God of the Bible. I do love her music though. And your pictures and the adding of the words make this very special. Thanks!

I disagree with turning such a beautiful song into a “christian song”. Christianity has damaged and destroyed far more humans than it could ever help.
