- Meet Raymond Balone - a Navajo Vietnam War veteran who has been fighting for more than 10 years to secure stable housing. AWP's community branch on the Navajo Nation, Diné Naazbaa Partnership (DNP), met Raymond last year and learned about the challenges he's quietly fought by himself. DNP immediately got to work advocating on his behalf to help him end this decade-long housing issue.
Visit DineNaazbaaPartnership.org or text "DNP" to 44-321 to donate and join the mission to improve the quality of life of veterans on the Navajo Nation. There are more veterans like Raymond who need your help.
Diné Naazbaa Partnership is a community branch of America's Warrior Partnership.
Disgusting how governments treat our war veterans..the same is in Australia they don’t care..thank you for your service 💕
ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS 🕯️
Thank you and I appreciate your service👊💪
Awesome, thank you Lord.
My grandfather served as well...He had applied with Navajo Nation Housing years ago...they kept saying no funding...Navajo Nation is a JOKE !! they help only ppl they know...real talk
Way to go i salute you on your patience for your home your friend in Branson Missouri G.Yazza
There's alot of veterans that need help on navajo nation, and it takes a long time for them to get help, even from chapter house too. Our people fight for us, and they shouldn't wait over 5yrs!
sad and disconcerting and also shows much patience and endurance. Much love to you. Mitakuye Oyasin
That's shameful:(
i built my home out of adobe blocks; however, i could only afford 2x6 for my floors and roofing. i asked for help to strengthen the roof and floors ten years ago.
Je n'ai pas tt compris car je suis française et maîtrise mal l'anglais mais respect monsieur pour tt ce que vous avez accompli et du bonheur pour la suite
❤❤💯
My uncle who’s a veteran got his home built long time ago but he never really moved in, he passed on though never really got to enjoy it… 1 son left, he claims it but he lives in Montana. Home just sitting there empty gettin beat up by the sun and elements
Ask the Navajo nation why they refuse to help their own people !
It's not the Navajo nation issue.
To help people understand how homes are built for people. They must go through a process.
The Navajo nation consist of divided areas called Chapters. Each Chapter has an Elected mini council. People belong to these chapters and vote for their chapter officers.
For people to get homes built. They must go to the chapter they reside in.
They fill out the required forms and they go before the chapter council.
The gentleman must attain a Homesite lease. Once the lease is approved.
The land goes before the land inspection by the department that oversees archaeological sites. Fees must be paid in advance.
Then once approved. The veteran house can be built.
Now the process of who is going to build his home. Water . Electrical. Sewer and on and so forth.
All of this must be spearheaded by someone.
I understand the gentleman concern and his issues. But, it's the Chapter council that must answer as to why the veteran is not being placed ahead so his home can be built.
Too much red tape, chapter official pocketing money, nepotism....veterans last.
They make the people jump through hoops, instead of having one office, one must go here and there.
It's not the chapter the veterans have their own office at the veteran affair. Me I gave up on them no help
@@2nickles647 I'm on the rez...I know the process...drive right in front of fire rock casino and look across the street at sundance...go up about a mile is ONE OR MANY NAVAJO HOUSING look at the area...look at the rest of sundance....go up the road 5miles...church rock..look at the area....this is partof the NAVAJO NATION....ALL AROUND THAT CASINO has no help FROM THE NATION
That's me to asking for a home now but it's not going there , ship rock not going anywhere , been waiting to long for paperwork .I all so went to war !
