The last piece of the program, starting around 22:00 still rings true today. Either nothing has changed from the 1960s to today or Bishop Sheen was really speaking to the future days.
Bishop Sheen spoke from the heart in which he had Jesus Christ in his heart and he saw how society was turning he spoke what was on the horizon and it still resenates with what is happening today taking away the Catholic churches and discrediting God allowing abortion and same sex marriages everything that is immoral. God will come again to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end!! 😢😢
20:19 Hearing Venerable Sheen say what I’ve felt is the solution to 2024 problems is a wonderful thing. 20:57 Part 2 of the solution is 🤌🏼 also something I’ve also pondered as a workable solution. 22:22 They need something to look forward to and work towards having 22:39 😮😅 23:03 23:23 Recognize responsibility 🙏🏻
I greet you from Poland because I am a Pole. I listen to archbishop Fulton Sheen every day and in English. I also graduated from English philology so it is not very difficult for me to listen to him in English. May God bless us all and archbishop Fulton pray for us so that God protects us from evil. Amen.
I made a translation of a 1 minute 31 second part of this video to my native Finnish but apparently spreading the good word and the Holy Catholic Faith isn't important to Vision Video as they blocked it worldwide. “Who’s going to save our Church? It’s not our bishops, it’s not our priests and it is not the religious. It is up to you, the people. You have the minds, the eyes and the ears to save the Church. Your mission is to see that the priests act like priests, your bishops act like bishops, and the religious act like religious.” - Venerable Fulton J. Sheen
There is much truth in what the good Bishop says here. However, I am a jail minister in Chicago and while it would be nice to have the system they have in Vienna, we don’t. As a result you have to work with people where they are. It’s complicated. Some are really guilty, but repentant (and some not). Some are falsely accused but trapped in the system. Others did something relatively minor but are trapped in the system and therefore into a life of despair in the jail. As Catholic Christians we have to find ways to help these young men and women (many in great despair) fall in love with Jesus Christ and ultimately His Church. “Jesus heard them and answered, “People who are well do not need a doctor, but only those who are sick. I have not come to call respectable people, but outcasts.”” Mark 2:17
This is a good talk but also it is not as simple as His Holiness here portrays it. On one hand it is important to distinguish between those who deserve mercy and those who do not, but there are also huge amount of people that fall in both groups. Yes, some people do evil out of their own volition but it is not so simple always. Despite making up close to 5% of the global population, the U.S. has nearly 25% of the world's prison population. It is clear that you can't punish your way to a healthier society. "Justice without mercy is cruelty; mercy without justice is dissolution." - St. Thomas Aquinas I personally think that false compassion could be classified as compassion to given somebody who does not deserve it at the cost of those who need it.
I am a Catholic and knight. One day I saw our local magazine had a news that local knights helped build a house for a muslim couple, I felt not right, why they treated some strangers we don't know what kind of people before they came, then provided them such huge support. And shouldn't local Muslim community provided their own brothers and sisters such huge help? I think something went terribly wrong.
so currently topical...so sad...so true...God help us and thank you for Fulton J Sheen's intelligence and insight!!!!!
I am watching this from the 1960s in 2022 and it is absolutely true today!!
Yes this is the approach of the end
This is almost prophetic in 2024
It is rampant today in society!!
God bless Bishop Sheen

Why is this Man not a Saint already?
I have no doubt in my mind that he will be soon, friend.
It makes no sense he should be a saint. He is one of God's greatest students of the holy bible.❤
It’s in the works 🙏🏻
If only we had heeded his warning….

I hope you are well and I like listening to the Archbishop too. Poland is an amazing country and I'm proud poles are fellow Christians. Stay safe.
Thank you for your words. May God lead you to Heaven.
His English is spoken in a beautiful, classic transatlantic accent which is so much nicer than the hideous accent spoken by a lot Americans today.
@@tommyjordan1988 Oh, i didn't know about it. Good to know, thank you.

I’ve got a couple videos on my show channel that have been stricken for 30 seconds of Sheen content within over 90minutes of conversation

16:18 Reminds me of Former Senator Barbara Boxer who was mugged and assaulted in Oakland, California. She still supports defunding the police.
13:06 he doesn't make a distinction between taking narcotics. Implying people with addictions are as culpable as the people supplying it.
