For people wondering this won't remove green all the way, dyed a wig turquoise tried this method multiple times and it still had a mint green tint, a gentle bleach bath or a semi permanent dye remover like pulp riot blank canvas doesn't work either. Looked it up and toning with the water colour method with a very small amount of pink to cancel out the green to a silver tone is the only way 👍
Thank you soooo much!
Your welcome 😊
Omg I have tried this like 5 times and was wonder wtf I was doing wrong
Yeah you weren't doing anything wrong, somes dyes permanently stain hair. green based blues, greens and pinks are the worst
I had royal blue that turned green, I boiled it on the stove with conditioner and the color literally melted off!
I’m So Glad I Found This… This Is The Exact Color I Made My Wig And Now I Want It Out 😍
Thank you! So happy this was helpful to you! ☺️🙏🏽
Thank you so very much for sharing this with us. I was looking for a solution to turn my ginger week to a honey blonde wig. Now you have given me that. Thank you so much❤😊

This video saved me $700, thank you sooo much!!!
You’re welcome!! 🙏🏽☺️
Thank you so somuch for this Video! You saved my day! I overtoned my extensions and tried to fix it with another hair dye and it didn't work at all! After the first dip I was so relieved when I saw it worked, as it was a new pair of very expensive extensions! But they're very very dry now... I mixed some deep contitioners with oils and olaplex and put the extensions in a plastic bag and leave it now over night to let the hair really soke in those nutritions.
Glad I could help! ☺️
This was very helpful thank you!
You’re welcome! ☺️

What color was your wig
@@malaykahicks6430 red
This was a GOD SEND. I love my ginger but it’s too red. I look like Ronald McDonald 😭🤣 I need to try a different mix
Perfect video bc that’s what color my wig is that I wanna remove color from to the color you have as the after result 🙌🏽 look at God 😅
Luv your nails!
Very helpful…thank you.
You’re welcome! 🙂
I literally dyed my unit the same color a little darker and want to change the color. I know this method will work, thank you!
You’re so welcome! 🙂
It worked!!!!! Thank you so much
Its not all out that wasnt 613 lol but this helped alot unless it was 27 when you started
Definitely not 613
very helpful video but I don't know if u used cold water or warm water
I used warm water.
This is super helpful thank you !
You’re so welcome! 🙏🏽☺️
Hello, thank you very much for this video. Does there shampoo have to be "clarifying" shampoo?
Yes. It gets rid of weird undertones of the color so it doesn’t leave it on the hair after rinsing it.
Can you do this to your natural hair as well?
Never tried that before…..it should work tho! 🤷🏽♀️
Thank you for this tip
You’re welcome, beautiful! ☺️
Thank you!
Will this work for black to brown
It should. 🙂
Will continuing dipping the wig in the water will that stain the lace?
No, it won’t.
I dyed my wig like a ginger color last night and I want it a little lighter can I redye it without having to bleach the hair again ?
You can after you lift the color with this method. It’s also non-damaging to the hair. ☺️
Did it work for you? I dyed my wig ginger but too dark and want a lighter color.
@@janelldancy8868 right I need to know if it worked up. 😩
@@janelldancy8868 same I just dyed my wig ginger but its giving more brown bc I didn't leave the bleach in longer 😫 now I'm considering bleaching it again after the hair fades but idk yet
Omg no 2 shade I tried this method my wig was a ginger and red 😳 😭 my wig started to tangle really bad and started to fall out in chunks not to mention it takes more than 2 washes maybe repeat step like 5 times however I had to stop it was damaging my hair it lifted just a lil bit I had to detangle the hair with aunt Jackie cold wash it with a better shampoo and shimmer shine I dyed my wig blue turned out good but this method will mess your wig up if you don't know how to fix it
Deep condition the hair right after. Best way is to use Silicone Mix on the hair, insulate it in a plastic bag and let the wig deep condition for a few hours or overnight. You may have hair that is either mixed with low quality hair or is hair mixed with synthetic fibers.
Gonna try this on a pink wig that I'm trying to lighten to go green, thank you so much!
I did mines with my last pink wig( cotton candy adore dye was the color ) and I had to do it 2 times but it came back to blonde so u should be fine!!
Does it work on Natural hair? I have bleached blonde hair and wanna dye it orange but I wanna know for sure that I can wash it out completely
Not sure.....I would assume it would work, however I don’t know what effect it would have on your natural hair provided these items have ingredients that may strip or damage it. 🤷🏽♀️
Use head and shoulders shampoo to remove the color
Do I need to use that type of shampoo or can I just use regular shampoo
Any type of clarifying shampoo will do. It helps to remove undertones of the color so it doesn’t leave a weird after color on your wig.
Please is it hot or cold u use in stripping off the color
Hot water. It helps dissolve the color. Not super hot, though.
I have a lavender wig I never worn , can I just use soap to wash the dye out ???
No. The baking soda helps to lift the color from within the hair shaft. The clarifying shampoo acts as an agent to restore the true color of the hair and remove undertones.
This method messed my blonde wig up. Im just going to bleach it
I’m so sorry to hear that! Sometimes it requires patience to remove deeper hues of color, like pink & red….it took me about 25-30 minutes to remove this color but it completely came out. Some manufacturers will tout their hair as being pure human hair when in fact some manufacture their hair with either a mix of human/synthetic hair or human/poor quality human hair and the hair becomes easily damaged and will either not receive hair color well or hair color will be hard to remove if the cuticles on the hair shaft are closed, making it hard to remove color. Mixed hair will do the same thing if not from one donor. I hope this helps! 🙏🏽
Can you use any clarifying shampoo
Yes. I just chose to use this because it was recommended to me. I usually get this brand from Family Dollar. 😉🙂
Can any shampoo be used or only clarifying
Clarifying shampoo only. It helps to strip the color away and the hair won’t leave any color behind and restore the hair to its true color.
Can this be done with Dawn dish soap?
Yes.
@@ColorMeeBaddBeauty I ended up trying it and it worked like forreal. I love you so much for this 😭
Can I use this on my real hair ?
I responded to this question from another viewer. Hope it helps!
What kind of baking soda do you use
Any brand will work. I use a inexpensive brand from Family Dollar. Lol.
will this work for a wig jus bought, to get the black color to a lighter brown?
No, unfortunately…this is a method used to lift color from a wig that is originally light in color and you color it….
Can you use any brand shampoo ?
As long as it’s a clarifying shampoo….
Just great
Does this work from purple to brown ?
Depends on how dark the purple is. As long as it’s semi-permanent color this method should lift it so you can do a brown shade.
does this work with any colored hair ?
It should, except for black hair. This method usually works for 613 blonde or light colored hair. But primarily blonde hair.
Was this water colored previously?
Yes it was. I had a Ginger color on it. 🙂
can I use this method to turn my red wig back to black?
Yes. Once you lift the red shade using this method. 🙂
Color on top of it
Hi would this work on silver bundles to recolor a burnt orange , hair was originally 613
Yes. 🙂
Yes.
I changed my yellow wig to burnt orange. Can this method work cause I want a new color now
Yes, it can. 🙂
can this be done on synthetic hair?
Unfortunately, no.
Will it remove a factory color I bought a colored wig and want to change it
Not quite sure. More than likely you would have to lift the color with traditional bleach to change the color of the hair if it's dark before adding a new color, depending on the color.
Did you use cold or hot water
I used lukewarm water.
Wouldn’t it work faster with hot or warm water?
Yes it does. Lol.
Will it work with red?
Yes.
Was the water hot ?
Yes.
Does it affect it I’d parts of the Howe is black
Excuse me? Not sure I’m understanding exactly what you’re asking….?
How to colour wig
I use the water color method. 🙂
What temp is the water ?
Mine was warm. Hot water is better. 🙂
Will this method work on darker hair color like blue or purple ?
Yes.
@@ColorMeeBaddBeauty thank you trying today
Hey ! I have a light pink wig that I want to turn back to blonde will this work ?
Yes. 🙂
Did it mess up the hair for you
Will it remove red hair dye
Yes.
Thank you
You’re welcome! 🙂
What color was the wig ?
What colors you use ?
Ginger.
Will this work with blonde hair that I dyed black? I know some colors are stronger than others it didn’t work with red
A color that dark, I’m not sure.... it may take repeated steps to lift a color that strong but you can try it and see!
does the temperature of the water matter?
Yes. Warm water. 💦 🙂
This didn’t work for me
Sometimes it takes several tries to get the color out. In my case,I did this three times. It depends on how deep the pigment color is you used to color the hair.
I’m sooooo frustrated why none of my adore colour (aqua) is coming out of my wig and I used the same stuff
Some colors are more stubborn and takes more time to remove. Make sure you’re using hot water! 🚿
Does it have to be that type of baking soda ?
No, any brand of baking soda will do. I get mine from Family Dollar for $0.68. 😊
Can you do this on natural hair ? To remove black semi permanent color
Hmm….I’m not sure! The dishwashing liquid and baking soda may strip away natural oils in your hair….
The only thing I did different was boil my water… thank you 🖤
Does this work on darker colors?? I’m going to try this method to lighten my burgundy bundles to a lighter red
Yes. A little more effort & time, but yes. 🙂
@@ColorMeeBaddBeauty ahhh yes that will save me so much work thank you so much for replying! They original hair color was natural black but I bleached it so it should still lift the color right even if it’s not a 613 wig?
@@aljanaeshanell1045 correct I just did it. I bleached my hair natural wig and dyed it purple. And I just took the purple off using this method.
Thank you
You’re welcome! 🙂
Can I use this if I don’t have a 613 wig
No.....Only if you lifted color from a dark wig and deposited semi-permanent color previously that you want to remove will it will it work....
