Great video! I live in a senior community and share info from your videos. People act like I'm crazy. Like you said, they truly have a lot of misconceptions about balance.
I had a major ischemic stroke 10 years ago that I have recovered from, however, I do have issues with balance in certain situations. For instance, as a cyclist, while recovering in the hospital, I thought I would never ride again except perhaps on a tricycle bike. But I was wrong. I have know problem riding the bike, my issue is mounting and dismounting while standing on my leg. I sometimes get dizzy and down I go. Walking is an issue if in a crowded area or if it is more like a staggered walk (grocery store) or if I turn my head to look at something while walking. I have gotten into walking on dirt trails with uneven surfaces to simulate some of the routines I did in Physical therapy doing that I do not have a lot of issues unless i trip on a sick or rock. I have taken yoga classes, however, had a difficult time doing the balance poses effectively (tree pose or eagle pose. One big issue is walking down steps to get to my seat at a football stadium as I am turning my head watching for the row number I loose my balance. Walking up the stairs is not as challenging except when I meet people coming down the stairs. No railing contributes to my fear of failing.
Hi Doug. I have scoliosis , would the exercises you show help me with my balance. I’m in the process of arranging intense treatments for my scoliosis , however I do have a balance problem. Will your exercises help me with this. I watch a good many of your videos and some of the exercises but I’m not sure if they will improve my balance. I seem to be loosing more balance as time goes on. I won’t be starting the scoliosis treatments until February of 2025. There is much arranging to be done since I live in Canada. 🇨🇦. Thank you for any suggestions you may have. LK from 🍁 😊

Thanks. Yes, it funny how many people tend to disagree with both what causes falls and how to stop it from happening.
