Axl isn’t as bad as he gets made out to be, he still hits all the notes but his voice just isn’t as powerful but neither is James’s. Vince Neil or Bon Jovi on the other hand….
This was one of his better vintage vocal performances. On other songs like Ride the Lightning and Trapped Under Ice, his voice cracks like someone going through puberty.
Fair enough. But you have to admit, post-covid Axl's vocals are nearly shot. I can't unhear the Herbert Family Guy voice as he sings now. James nailed the singing perfectly, it's the good balance between his older more mature and heavy voice with some of those outrageous "80s-james hetfield screams" right where they count! It's one of the better live versions I've heard of the song!
Kill 'Em All is my fav album! My father and i would listen to it whenever we were in the car, and I'm glad to have a vinyl of it from 1985 in my possession, thank you for the pinnacle of the thrash album!
Wow, this is amazing. Even from mid or late '80s James lowered his voice when singing songs from their first album, like The Four Horsemen. Seeing him going again for those high notes at his age is great to see. Solid AF
