It's not often the first video you watch answers all your questions! Excellent all around. I noticed a gap between my wall and floor and bugs were coming and going, and now I know how to seal it. Great reminder to not be lazy and put on personal protective equipment. Is the DAP silicone caulk you used one of the special kinds that will bond to concrete?
You could try cleaning your floors so there's nothing for bugs to eat Hence, they won't take up vacancy at your premises. Putting some rotted fruit at the neighbors house works as well, friend told me 😊
That’s a great question, I didn’t see any notable difference. I only did one room and I should have done the whole basement. Eventually I did install a radon mitigation system which was ultimately successful in reducing the radon levels in my home.
@mikekrzesowiak7944 so this video was more for creating content than actually meeting the purpose? Did you do a video that we can see was actually effective at blocking randon or was the whole thing a crock of chit to make money on you tube? I would have said this was for preventing leaking, then your video would actually be purposeful. I watched this, spent 5 days sealing my foundation and my radon levels actually raised. I'd consider removing this content before the next person repeat your process only to later read its ineffective but may have been if you did the whole floor or maybe pin first post stating the process you are about to watch was completely ineffective and radon mitigation system will be required after completing 😉
@@TDBear-bs6zlin theory, why wouldn't this work to at least mitigate some of the gas from entering envelope? Just trying to seal my room in a shop for less bugs, but curious about Radon and know it's in the area ... 🤔
Hey, just found this video. Seems your as much of a home nerd as me. Thanks for the video! Subbed!
Good job. thanks for the video! I would use one of those bead roller tools for rescreening a screen door for the backer rod foam if I try this.
That’s a really good idea
Thanks for the video, starting to finish my basement and was wondering if I can seal the cove joint and how to. :)
You’re welcome!
@Rolando7979 how did you seal your cove joint?

VERY Interesting!!!
What about a gap between the drywall and the concrete further up?
wouldn't using a screen door spline wheel do better than a screwdriver?
Yes, that’s a great idea!
Question, do you smoke the joint before or after you seal it ? Asking for a friend of course 😉
Thanks for sharing this Video Mike, have you observed any changes in your radon concentrations?

Should you ever use concrete to fill in these joints instead of a silicone sealant?
It will crack
