- As we all know, unranked on Slippi is an absolute saltfest. So if you ran into this character on unranked, what are their salt levels like in a form of a tier list? Are they the Falco player that is the "lol" "lol" "lol" "bad connection" "bad connection" type? Or are they a Yoshi main that is the "ggs" "well played" type? Find out in this Toph Talk!

Toph loves Super Smash Bros Melee. This video is similar to "If you run into this character on unranked, how good is the average player?" except it's about salty players and not skill level.

You missed the "spacie playing against marth who switches to marth after a couple games and f-smashes repeatedly in the corner without moving as if to make a point that all the marth is doing is f-smashing despite the spacie getting caught by every dash attack-uptilt combo" tier
whenever I play a marth as falco and closely win game 1 I go marth game 2, usually take the first 1-2 stocks free and then they almost always d/c. and if not I then go ness after I win game 2 and they definitely d/c
I hate that these people exist. I dual main fox marth and the marth gets the wrong idea every time I switch for the ditto. Same thing happens with the fox ditto. :(
@@ripmyhands5649 imo character switching can come across as bm by default so if you want to dual main without tilting anyone, disconnect and start a new session as your other main

I also get upset when someone changes their character in the moment, but really I shouldn't, it's a game and they can pick who they want. Obviously when I'm playing Falco and they go Falco and they start spamming lasers and taunting, theyre insulting my play, but if they don't its fine
People do this against peach too. If they di one d-smash badly and they start mashing d-smash even if that was the first time you used it that match.
Pink Peach should say "Unless they are playing Fox" instead of Falcon. The Falcon matchup is way less rage inducing than fighting Fox as Peach in my opinion.
I’ve been playing peach allot lately and I love playing Falcon and spacies because it’s so pleasurable to gimp them. The ones I hate playing are Puffs and actually sheiks because they camp me out and It’s so hard to even hit them

I lasercamped a ganon for 6 minutes in falco ganon game one and then played like 10 more games with that same ganon, different and better breed

Another Green Luigi here, its amazing how fox and falco will stand there until you get close to them, then they'll quit. its like a mini game, if you can get a hit in before they quit, they'll stay for the first stock then rage quit if you win the stock or taunt and quit if they win it. dude it's one stock, no one has owned anyone yet

I'm a mario main and I get a lot of instant disconnects, I always thought it was just that mario was too low tier, but "I don't want to play your secondary" makes a lot of sense
I don’t usually have a lot of time for games these days. Only 2 or 3 years into melee, and I’d honestly rather just play against characters where I know more about the matchup and stuff like that. If I have a bunch of time, I’m down to play against any character.

In my experience falco mains exist on both ends of the spectrum. I've played falcos that will quit out after getting hit with the first laser in the ditto, but I've also had a few absolute homies that would try to save you with shine if you were about to sd.
Not a Falco player but I agree. Some Falco's play and act like the biggest dickheads ever (usually Green Falco LOL). Pretty much only down to stick around if theyre winning, frame 1 quit out whenever you land a finishing blow, "lol lol lol", non-stop camping and laser spam to the point where its clear their goal is just to make playing them as anti-fun as possible, etc. But then I have run into the cool Falco’s who are def homie and communicate that theyre just there for some dope Melee. Definitely a spectrum between the two, but also a bit of a binary cuz they usually are more like one or the other.
I think the huge disparity just comes from the fact that there are SO many Falco players on unranked. You're just naturally going to have a lot of variation when your sample size is that large.
As a green skin main who plays a lot of falco. I wanna break the stereotype. I wanna be the chill green falco who stays forever

I think what was missing is the “Wannabe” tier I think that there are some alts that are like you want to be the person who uses them for me that would be Red Fox because mango u know

I only disconnect when someone wants to go "all star mode" on me. If they've changed character for the second time or later, and they're changing to a low tier, I'm out.
haha, I am an allstar player but only vs marth. it takes a lot of restraint to not just go in as falco and I have to play so patient to not get cheesed. when I just wanna chill and not think I switch to the ditto or roy after I win game 1. if I lose game 1 I stick it out with falco and play till they d/c. if I win the ditto convincingly I go ness

Every Mario main that I have ever encountered seems to have this almost unhealthy amount of dedication to their character. And like, when they can't beat you, they do get reallly salty. Especially if they feel they are losing to a select few options that are really strong against Mario and they think you're being unfair.
I’m a Mario main and relate to this a lot, a lot of times I’ll play against a Marth and get really frustrated when he just flat out beats everything I have. Marth far out ranges Mario and even though I know the matchup sometimes it feels like I can’t do shit. That being said, I still say GGs Well Played after every match (Unless they quit out on me)

I play ganon for absolutely no other reason than to look like a low skill idiot that looks like he just gets lucky with stray aerials and people usually quit after 1 game. Very satisfying
Blue fox is the epitome of if anything they're trying to tilt you, they all have insane tech skill and they live to not let the other player play the game

I’m a Ness main because I feel tiers don’t matter unless you’re at a super high level of competition, and honestly I think I would personally go in the DK tier AND the “well played” “GGs”tier. I’m just trying to have fun and play for a long time.
I’m not intentionally trying to tilt people (usually, but I do say OKAY if I’m shmoovin and feeling myself) but way too many people DC and get tilted when I beat their fox.

My thought on ICs is a lot of them played to tilt you, and when it doesn't work they get salty. But then banning wabbling filtered a lot of them out so now it's more of a balance

As a new player one thing i noticed in unranked is that people leave when i take a stock even tho they see i suck. I'm always like bruv.... if you stayed a minute longer you would've absolutely destroyed me XD
in my experiences. Marth players as people are sweet as hell but when you play them they are tryna tilt you. I also secondary Kirby but only for either bming or just to chill cuz it is fun.
Because daisy is in a different tier than peach it means she has more differences in melee vs ultimate
In Melee, NASB and Smash Ultimate one and doners make me so angry. Especially when I was learning their habits, yet I couldn't use my knowledge against them to prove that I was better. Makes me so angry.

yeah most ICs I've played are gigascrubs who only play for the wobble even though it's banned throughout most tournaments now, and if they finally get it they d/c afterwards and post "lol" "lol" "lol" "lol". I have never seen an ICs play game 2
@@AlexRoseGames I finally played a good one a week or so ago. It was actually a TON of fun. Handoffs, short wobbles. He punished me a ton in the neutral. Hope that trend continues. I've also fought those lol lol lol people. I don't get it.
ive seen some good ICs players on unranked. solid gameplay and good sportsmanship from several of em. seems like some bad luck yall have with those guys, honestly
As a Blue Puff player, 100% agree with this list. I will one and done if I have to go make dinner or something, but generally down to just play sets and let you rotate all you want lol.
As a Green Sheik, so far this is *100%* on point lmao 🤣 Edit: As a Green Zelda tho, you buggin lol 😂 I play her the most and I have literally never quit out on anybody ever. I'll play with you forever lol

I do get tilted by Captain Falcons but I met a really cool one. He just wanted me to show him my moves. I got some combos off and he slowly ratcheted up his skill level until I was impressed.

Wow, Toph certainly has so much integrity for putting Green Fox in this tier instead of this tier. Yes, this is my honest opinion and I thought of this comment myself.
As I white fox, I am just here to play serious matches, and have never fired salty messages...But your placement is absolutely accurate. Most toxic fox color by far.
I have a few points I’d like to add:
- Pink Luigis and Dark Blue Yoshis are a lot like Green Fox, their salt level is all over the damn place.
- Green/Brown and Blue Mario are both in the “Well mannered. . . UNLESS you’re playing Falcon” tier.
- Green DK and Blue Bowser sometimes take themselves too seriously. They both probably belong in the “stay begrudgingly” tier.
- This is barely even a serious point I’m making, but some Red Marths are community elders who are old enough to be Ken fans, and they are probably in a deep catatonic chill level beyond stoner tier, maybe even their own level of chill purple.
I don't know if this is an EU thing but Ganon is genuinely the most toxic character online and it's not even close. It doesn't matter what character you're playing, they will taunt after every single stock and spam you afterwards.
Ganon gotta be mostly England or Italy. As an English person I can tell you we get salty with Italians all because they won. Not me personally but I know people are still mad

I feel like Zelda needs another placement just for Sheiks that switch to her. I've played a few Sheiks who will switch to Zelda to try to BM. Like they're saying you're so bad they can just spam nairs and fairs and you'll lose. Even if I'm beating their Sheik or staying competitive some Sheiks will do this.
Feel like green puffs are here to have a good time, neutral is will play a few begrudgingly and crown puff is here to tilt you. Hbox fans are here to play soke melee, neutral puff players are actual puff players and are therefore slightly saltier like marth players but without the falcon hatred and crown puff are old mango fans that are only trying to hit tech chase rests

Integrity means that you do the right thing to matter the circumstances, so I believe that putting green fox up there is disingenuous and compromises your integrity.
As a ice climbers player everyone hates you and insta disconnects unless they know the match up and down for a good time
I'm a Yoshi/Mewtwo main and I have gone for multiple very long sessions where I never disconnect and I always let the other person decide when we are done, and I always say "ggs, good luck". With that established, I will say that I think there is a very specific tier that is very real that needs to added: Comic book villain tier. They aren't toxic in a super mean or hostile sense, but they kind of act like an antagonist in an almost charming way. I'd say some mewtwo players go there, some game and watch players go there, some bowsers go there, and for some reason the DKs that show up in the doubles lobbies could also be in that tier.
I play Ness a lot (neutral) and I'm always in "trying to tilt you" tier. Beating people with Ness is 1000% sweeter than any other win, especially because sometimes you can see people tilt off the earth when you beat them.
Ofc some foxes just shit on me but that's just what I get for playing Ness lmao

I think you're approaching this from a very fox/high tier perspective. As a green Luigi, I would move everyone up a tier and move the fox/falcos up even more. They hate us man.

Okay, so, on Ganon, I have never played two games in a row against a ganon, I play Falco and Marth for context and I have literally NEVER play against the same ganon twice in a row. They up to one and done tier for me.
As a white luigi I run into 5 people in a row who will either quit out immediately or rage quit after two stocks before I run into someone who's down to just keep playing. I never quit out first but god do I want to against literally any Marth.
most ridiculous thing I experience was a guy playing camping puff against me (marth) for 5 minutes strait. he lost and switched to icies, camping a side of the stage doing frost wind + ice cube (dunno how you call this two moves) and spamming grab to try to wobble whenever I was not waiting for him to do something else on top platform.
Needless to say I consider quiting at some point. won the game to prove a point though

The dog water ones
The chill ones who just wanna hit cool clips
And the prideful ones who KNOW they are better than you and they express that openly
Default and maybe gold roys are cool wanna hit combos
Green roys are dog water
And red roys are prideful zain wannabees
Nobody plays blue roy

The black marth thing ive acctualy never thought about at all till you said this (i play black marth for context) but i am also kinda a perfectionist when i play marth so idk you might be right.
I played falcon and now switched to yoshi and for some reason every GnW I have ever found is unbelievably toxic, like they sniff out that I'm not the best player cause every single one has farmed for judgement and insta quit "lol" "lol" "lol" "lol" if it hit
one guy quit and "one more"d me when I took his first stock and he couldn't get the 9 in game 2
I play Gold Roy because my retired buddy beat me in a color battle for him and once he retired he re-bestowed me the ability to play him. I only play Golden Roy against people who are very new or also playing a low tier and being chill. :)
as a sheik main, i agree with Ganon, but we can add neutral falcon noobs in there and certain spacies if i'm on with tech chasing
side note this is one of my favorite tier lists and I play so much unranked i understand it soooo well. Coming from a mainly sheik lens, plus i do a lot of bottom 10 characters
As a puff player, i will never rage quit unless the connection is genuinely horrible, because ive been disconnected frame 1 to many times too count.
Also kinda funny how half the skins i use are either super chill or toxic as shit
Usually down to play Puff even if she can be annoying. Only time Ive ever quit out on Puff was one time when in our first match as soon as it started they immediately B-lined for the nearest ledge and just refreshed on it for 20 seconds straight without even trying to get a lead first. Some people clearly only go on Unranked to be annoying and to try to ruin peoples day from a safe distance. Only thing I wont bother dealing with.

As a green marth: chaingrabbing is hard and im working on it but damn if im not having a good time doing back airs and approaching aerials

Also HARD DISAGREE on all Ganon's being sweet. Majority of the Ganons I play get hella salty and are BM win or lose.
One and done when they win when I'd usually start bopping them once I remembered how to play the MU and stop falling for double jump stomp. When they lose theyre the type to triple "lol" me, switch to (always my color) Fox and try to do the whole "Im better with your character/theyre braindead" thing, and the other day I was having a close 2 stock match with one then shine spiked him at low % and he quit out, hit me with the triple "Too good" and left.
Also I find it awesome how you said Blue Puff is chill cuz one of the only Blue Puff's Ive ever played followed me on Twitter and DM'd me saying we should play more sometime and my Fox is sick 😊💕
This list is so cathartic, I play puff and the amount of insta ragequit spacies, marths and shieks really blow my mind. You land a upthrow rest (or really any rest) on them because of terrible spacing on their first stock is a 50/50 leave right there or reset games until it doesn't happen, which is such a nothing, infuriating mindset.

As a gg -> well played blue falco, obviously agree with that evaluation. I will add that the "I just rage switched to falco" neutral falcos are distinctly NOT here to have a good time
That idea for a new vídeo with the matchup chart and having a guest is a fire video idea.
You know what is weird about Sheik in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate? I think most of them are trying to scam or something. If I win the first match against them, they automatically quit and they can also quit if they win the first one in a close match. They do not come across as friendly half the time despite playing a character that requires pure skill. Also, talking about pilot Pichu and saltiness reminds me of that one Pichu who altered Pichu's moves, becoming one of the few cheaters in Smash history.
I play yellow Kirby just for fun (Samus main) and I call him the grapefruit.
I feel like a LOT of low tiers are super bm, they'll counterpick me with low tiers after I was beating them when they're using a mid to top tier character and try to gimmick me super hard and if I keep winning they'll try to tebag and taunt any time they take a stock but then look stupid when they keep losing until they begrudgingly give up. I only know 1 person that uses low tiers that is super chill but on unranked they are almost all super BM and either quit out or try to make me quit out.

I play falco and for me, every single person is "can and will rage quit immediately" except for marth who is here to have a good time
My hard read on Marths that I beat as a spacie is they do not stick around cuz they are sweet and homie, but cuz they know if they stick around long enough my hands will crap out on me and they can kill me at 20 and win games and get the tilt train rolling.
They might also just be chill, but this is my head canon cuz every Marth I beat eventually just camps the corner/ledge and communicates clearly that they dont plan to try beating me with real fundies, they just hope I get bored, approach and mess up, and they can cheese some free stocks.
I try not to be salty on unranked, but week 1 of slippi I got Marths ledge camping. I didn’t put brawl behind me just for some rando to camp me when it’s not even meta, and I ain’t sticking around to see if they time me out.
