Dame and Beasly's crack on defense is HUGE for them to patch up.
Middleton and Lopez are a year older and slower compare to last year.
And without Jrue to slow the penetration from the top, these help defense couldn't catch up even their MVP and DPOY Giannis. And the Giannis focus offense has been scouted for years that the effectivity as a team diminished greatly even with great numbers and efficiency, individually.

I always wondered why giannis doesn’t play the center spot more. It would allow him to play closer to his strengths as a more traditional big man and use Portis as a stretch 4.
how is that different from this frontcourt with Brook who always stands in the perimeter anyway? They will be losing some spark off the bench if they did that. I agree though that Giannis need to get more on the block and play back to the basket then make the right play from there since bulldozing his way to the basket from the perimeter doesn't work for 48 minutes, need some mixing up.

The team had been playing well below their expectations from the beginning; so yes, Doc has to take blame for this, but this current roster construction was bad from the get go. And if the Bucks bounce early, I’d imagine some changes in the FO, along with Doc Rivers as well.

I truly think the Bucks have been playing possum all year. I think they have learned previous to the title that regular seasons really does not matter for a team like they have of vets and seeding is not relevant. They can win on the road and proven it. Bucks don't want to face either the Sixers or the Heat in the first round, so I believe they are deliberately losing some games to fall to 3rd seed so that they face the Pacers in the 1st round. Of the remaining 4 games I won't be surprised if they lose all the 4 by resting Giannis & Dame to achieve their objective of falling to 3rd seed (they may end up 4th also if Knicks keep winning). Bucks playing Cavs or Pacers in the 1st round is a possibility.

Giannis needs to embrace the role that Chris Bosh selflessly took on the Heat after losing to the Mavs for the team to win back to back championships. Bosh moved to the 5 and created spacing nightmares for teams. The only difference is that Bosh could consistently knock down the outside shot. Even without the outside shot, Giannis can still create havoc being at the 5 and it allows for better defensive matchups. Lopez would be better off the bench at this point.
