We could get the album that Soundgarden was working on before Chris's death. But the band is having trouble getting the demos for mixing for some reason.
@@alwynsam5349Indeed. I didn't think that she was that bad until she blasted Kim Thayil for things he didn't say and tried to claim all of the rights to Soundgarden for herself
This is one of the very best Soundgarden songs. The way the "wanna make you right" part repeats and builds from 3:40 to 4:25 is one of the most intense sections of music I've ever heard. Soundgarden were/are something else.
This and Tighter & Tighter are the most mind-bendingly beautiful songs on the album. So sensual -- just right down in it. RIP Chris... today is even harder for me than yesterday was.
im 16 I found 2 gems the day I bought Badmoterfinger and Superunknown at a rumage sale for a buck a piece, then i just ordered this album about a week ago and love it. My Favorite three albums.
Good for you man,I was turned on to Soundgarden in 1991 when I was 20 & was lucky enough to see them live 3 times & I can tell you from seeing a lot of bands back then who were in their prime that Soundgarden was one of the most powerful live bands I've ever seen, other bands didn't want to follow them because they knew they were tame in comparison ,Soundgarden did it the way it was supposed to be done,I once read an article with Kim & they asked about the crowds at their shows (this was before Superunknown) & the guy asked him if there were a lot of girls at the show (face it Chris was a beautiful man & im 100% straight but he is) & Kim said " I think we scare a lot of young ladies who come to our show " I thought that was the coolest thing ever
people hate on applebite...as if that is a bad track. If any psych band or Led or the doors came out with that everyone would go nuts. SG freaks (which im one) just dont wanna hover too far away from BMF. But their progression from album to album was so perfect. Applebite is amazing
The Beatles are basically Cornell's favorite band of all time and his main songwriting influence from growing up. He says it in plenty of interviews and songs like Black Hole Sun and Blow Up The Outside World are definitely influenced by stuff like Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, Strawberry Fields, A Day in the Life. Cornell covers Beatles songs at his acoustic gigs and Soundgarden has covered a few Beatles songs too. There ya go.
My former band, Before The Fall, covered this song. We wrote our own stuff, but Soundgarden guided us as a group. Every time we played this, You could feel, breathe, the intensity through the room. This song transcends the player and listener.

Cornell said this was an optimistic song. Renaming shame into something that enables you to move on and become a better person is an optimistic perspective, IMO
As someone said before on a comment - as beautiful as the uncertain movements of deeply wounded soft flesh, as the motions of the talons of predatory birds in the necks of prey.
Ruben Ventura Ditto guys. When this came out we considered it a masterpiece, the culmination of many years of perfect music. It was sad to see them break up in '96 but it was an opus to go out on. I still love it to this day. I used to joke to myself when Cornell says I'm Burden In My Hand 'it's just a tumor in my head' that perhaps that may have been what my problem was. I just had a brain tumor removed on 1/31/17.
Ethan Herrin Whatever. Blow up the outside world is a bit on the nose, an obvious radio tune. Other than that, this album is and always was one for the ages.
Goodbye Brother, thank you for all the songs, things were hard but they would have been even harder without your voice and songs. Warm regards from Portugal to fans family and friends.

This album is right up there with Physical Graffiti The Wall Facelift Hotel California......... They should be proud of this. The whole albums a masterpiece
Yeah well Ben Shepherd is an unassuming kick-ass player that should always be mentioned with the Geddy Lees, Chris Squires, Cliff Burton, Les Claypool, etc
I am a black guy who didnt realize Soundgarden is so dam good until last year. They totally sound like Black Sabbath and the Beatles rapped up in one with a deeper darker side.
This is an amazing song. Chris was the best singer of my generation. BUT, it is about drug addiction and all the pain that leads to it and accompanies it. My sincere sympathies to the Cornell family and Soundgarden. To those who believe that this is a party song: it ain’t! It’s a cautionary tale from Chris, and to those who care about him, please heed it.

Completely agree here, in regards to them being the best bands from all of that; everyone else I try is either extremely whiny and is about how unfair and hard life is, is mixed and played _obnoxiously_ loudly, is written with a very boring, basic structure, is full of demonic-sounding screaming/growling, or any combination of those four. I haven't had any other bands really interest me since Soundgarden and Tool.
@kiscaly They do love the beatles - Kim bought the same amp and used the same settings from some Beatles track (can't remember which) for Black Hole Sun, that shimmery sound. Plus they covered Helter Skelter and Come Together, but aye, totally, this song has nothing in common with the beatles and in my opinion, SG shit on the beatles. From a very great height.
