Cleber was selling candy at the traffic lights as a teenager, on the outskirts of the east side of São Paulo, when he had an opportunity through one of Almeida JJ's brothers, Gustavo Almeida! Mikey is relentlessly attacking on guard. Whenever Cleber tries to attack Mikey's guard he just ends up getting caught on a submission attempt and ends up just defending and always trying to escape. He could not return the favor to Mikey and make him defend/escape. Fun to watch.
The thing that i dislike in Mikey playstyle is that if both play it like he did, we will have no fight

I love how much these guys respect each other. I wish we saw more of this in all combat sports. People try to market a grudge match but in reality a true fighter wants an even match, they want to be pushed into finding out what they're made out of. People who try to hype matches by saying they know they're going to win by KO 1st round etc just bore me. I think they're lying half the time because they think that is helping to promote the sport but I'd rather see what Mikey and Sousa display here any day.

Humm! 🤔. Nah they have to change the rules, you can't just pull guard all day and win a championship belt. Don't get me wrong mikey is a great fighter but come on pulling guard all day, which is extremely hard to do. But it's a championship fight.
I'm not a jiu-jitsu practitioner but by watching this match it seems unfair competition when someone pull guard like that. It should have a time limit to do that, because he it seems that he never goes for engaging the match and whoever attacks him will be always being exposed first.

Not sure about the Micky lock obviously it works but its so bad as a martial arts move pulling a foot to face kicking range, really loses sight of the whole purpose for jiu-jitsu

B: Everything Mikey does is an attack. Thats why Sousa keeps breaking off.
C: This is submission grappling, it doesn't look like MMA.

Would love to see Mikey and his fancy guard in MMA, we would quickly see why, in MMA, Wrestling and Sambo > BJJ. Control and ground and pound over fancy subs from your back is always safer. Even though they are good to know and you should know some too. Now, on grappling matches with these rules, this style is great. Still, I cringe when I see dudes pulling guard tho, keep martial arts self defense oriented! not Sports oriented
His game isn't suitable for MMA, he would get koed by someone who can defend the sub and can attack with elbows and ground and pound.

@@haydencapell4839 its not that there is a problem, but it makes the martial art worse as a MARTIAL ART and for self defense, since gyms teach it sport oriented. Just like Judo banning techniques where u can grab the leg/double leg, dont expect to be better than Sambo then as a self defense/martial art

Let’s see… BJJ was always one of the emblematic constituent styles of MMA, pioneered as it was by Royce and co. Many high profile BJJ athletes toy with idea of MMA, some succeed, many fail, and many don’t even try. The fact that MM is doing this in a cage suggests it’s something he’s considered. BUT with such a guard-centric style, I’m speculating that NO WAY. But yeah… no brain surgery, concert piano or fortune telling either.
Just walk away until he gets up from the ground. Mofo should be deducted for every minute he is on the ground and nothing happens.
