- My cover of Sunshine Of Your Love by Cream. Fender Stratocaster + DigiTech RP 80.
The preset of my RP 80 is: Pickup/Wah - OFF, Compressor - 9, Amp Model - G4, Noise Gate - G5, Chorus/Mod - OFF, EQ - b5, d6, t7, Delay - OFF, Reverb - H3. Guitar - I played the middle pickup, the tone knob in the position 7.
You inspired me to learn this song... It's a lot simpler than I thought it'd be... even the solo... Thank you...
Great! Yeah, I am also usually surprised that songs that look so complicated are actually not that difficult once one starts to work on them.
Yeah it's easy song to play alot of fun too
I play it a little different but just because I wanted to lol most the time the actual artist doesn't always play their songs the same way all the time learn have fun with it it's why we play to begin with make music right. Rock on
The only one video that I found on the internet likely to be faithful to the positions in which Eric played this song with Cream. Well done, I have someone at last that confirms my take on Sunshine!
Good job by the way. This is the first song I learnt in its entirety when I first started playing. Sounded awful, but it was an achievement at the time to remember a whole track and a poor version of his his solo. Can't say I've improved on it much, but would like to work on it.
Racelinekarting bet you're great now huh?
your on par with mr clapton now!
Nice...loose and dirty
Thanks a lot :-)
Very nice. Great playing. Thanks for posting this one.
Thanks! :-)
Thank you so much, loved the way you have described controls in the description. May hendrix bless you.
Thank you! :-)
Thanks for the video, nice playing. Took a few repeats to see what you are doing but now I got the riff down, thanks!
Thank you :-)
Hard rock 🖤🤘
that's one stratocaster right there
Thanks :-)
@@HappyStrat24 its gorgeus, you have good taste man
@Loky1940 Thanks a lot! The Fender was about 1400 $. But Cream should be rather played on SG, deffinitely some humbuckers :-)...But what the hell, Clapton used Strat during the whole Reunion concert, right? The guitar is really versatile and one can play any kind of music with it really. I love it and can only recommend it.
Insane. Amazing man
Nice guitar mate, love Sienna Sunburst. I have the same guitar with a humbucker on the bridge
Beautiful guitar
Thank you!
nice, i would add some treble though
Thanks! Yea, the sound is far from perfect, as I didn't have a good amp back then and only used the simple DigiTech multieffect to simulate one. A tube amp would make a huge difference of course
"A tube amp would make a huge difference of course", not really.. even with modeling you can archieve the exact tone.
nice song selection and playing too
Awesome, well played
+Project Milzock Thank you! :-)
I love this song***** Like #4 :))
Very well done. You just need to loosen up a little bit and tune down 1/2 step. I also use .012 on the high E and thicker strings on down. That will retain the tension on the neck so you won't have to have your Strat setup again and also give you a sweeter tone if you don't know how to DIY. Nice tone though on the middle pickup. I usually use the neck for that song. That song is why I picked up the instrument 40 years ago.
Thanks a lot! You are right about loosening up a bit :-) As for the key - I adjusted myself to the backing track, but yeah, the backing track can be changed. And thanks about the advice concerning the strings. Sounds interesting, I know people use strings from different sets, I haven't tried it myself yet
Excelent
Hi, thanks! I haven't been using any amp for recording so far, the digitech goes directly to my computer - not a very good way to record - but I plan doing some recording with an amp soon :-) As for the backingrtacks - I download those from backingtrack(dot)com an then mix them with my guitar, I use CollEdit Pro for that
The barre chords are Barre chords minus the pinky finger great cover !
Thank you!
How you doing HS24? Can you help me out, I can't find the backing track with the vocals, well not a freebie anyway. Guitarbackingtracks have non vocal versions. Are you playing over the top of the standard track? I did find one of UA-cam but the timing is all out and not consistent. Cheers.
Hi, if I remeber correctly, I used this one: www.guitarbackingtrack.com/play/cream/sunshine_of_your_love_(2).htm
It is a nice song and it is actually easier than it looks, even the solo is not that difficult. Johnny B certainly took me longer to learn. Anyway, when I recorded this song, I forgot to play the intro and started with the chords right away. I have no idea why, just forgot it :-) Good luck with this song, I will check it once you upload it :-)
Yeah, thanks for the link. I found it pretty much after sending you that message. The solo is proving tricky (as all solos do for me) to get the phrasing right, not that I have ever let that stopped me posting a video before!
Nice!
Thank you!
@Loky1940 I also have two copies (Squieres) - Strat and Tele, which you can see in some of my other videos. They play very well, but the real thing is the real thing. I also wouldn't mind to have a Fender Tele, but then I would love to have a Les Paul, Explorer, SG....:-)
@HappyStrat24 Yeah I got a copy Strat, that was my first guitars, and I think it's really fun to play on it, I teally want a Fender but !, A tele
dope
Nice cover !, how much was your fender, I really want a fender for songs like cream, beatles and stones lol :P
very nice videos and covers :-) I have Mexican Standard Strat and digitech RP70.. how do u record your covers? and what about putting backingtracks? ... do u use Amp? :)
Stop that last note from ringing on the first riff.
I have a question did Eric clapton use a strat in the original studio version or did he use a gibson?
I am not sure, but since he mostly used Gibson SG with Cream, I guess that he also used it in the studio on this tune
Should of played it on an sg in woman tone
Bro, whitch back track did you used ? nice video btw
That guitar is detuned
@HappyStrat24 Yeah, I have a epiphone SG, and an Econ Strat, I want a Squier tele, Fender tele or a Flying V, or even a Gretsch, i want a Gretcsh like George Harrison did.
you need to get mean and nasty, bro. come on. put your HEART into it!
Wish I could play guitar 😡
Pick up one and start to play then! It is not that difficult and very rewarding, great fun.
HappyStrat24 thanx man I will practice !!👍
HappyStrat24 I am a good drummer though, but I will still practice guitar 👍
this song is easy
ASDFGHJKL dfghjhgcgyuigfyuij thanks mate now i will learn guitar and eventually learn to play this song
Im just here for his guitar lelz haha
I loved your sound , drive with more bass🎸🎸🎸🎸
Thank you :-)
Guitar hero 3
The Tone is Kinda to crunchy, but it is a nice Cover anyways!
Thank you! Well, the tone on this one is done on the Digitech RP80 - a cheap multieffect. I didn't have anything better at that time
spingi un Po più sui tasti e via più convinto:)
too many ways to play this
Am I the only one that finds the guitar off..?
What do you mean - out of tune, or not plugged in? It is surely plugged in. I admit the sound is far from perfect, it comes from the Digitech RP80 - a cheap multieffect, since I didn't have a propper amp at that time
HappyStrat24 Yeah that’s it, out of tune. But since thats kind of a cheap amp you did the best you could. Can you make another cover if you have a better amp now?
@@RedMissou I've had the VOX AC15 for many years now, but I play very seldom these days. I hope I will get myself to do some more videos soon
HappyStrat24 Good luck!
Sound is out of sync.
Is the sound out of sync with the video? It is okay when I watch it actually. But I notice the same sometimes when I watch covers of other people. I guess youtube butchers the videos sometimes. It is the first time somebody tells me it happens with my video. It sucks, it is no good watching videos with sound out of sync, I hope it doesn't happen often
