The Giwi kill at the end is even funnier because if L actually fails to nominate someone to arrest the suspect in time, it defaults to L arresting them, meaning that you can definitely figure out who L is by who keeps arresting people
Its really funny that jacob essentially went full "shinigami eyes" that last round lmao. Sacrificing himself for kira so he'd know everybody's identities
I think the L rules are interesting. It basically requires two players to weaponize deception for the same purpose. In Among Us (unmodded at least) deception is kind of a pointless thing for a crewmate to do. It gets them no value. That game can often feel like Crewmates just need to autopilot and either impostors make a play and win or get processed and lose. Here, both sides actually want the same thing, and can employ similar tricks to get it both in and out of meetings. It’s a good way to emulate the battle of wits. I hope they play the game a little more as it gets updated because I feel like the very second that Jacob gets to be L the game will become extremely fun. PS: I’ve seen insane plays of straight up Kira pretending to be L, using lost item task as a way to mask a single ID handoff, L cornering a cleared investigator and asking him to be bait to single out Kira, and Kira convincing an entire lobby that L (via full game absence) is Kira to get him arrested for a free kill. The plays are endless. PPS: I do feel like one thing that’s missing that might be nice is the ability for investigators to early call a meeting somehow. The game is balanced more around the task bars than most new players realize, so playing ultra safe to survive the day and do more tasks is important, but maybe there should be an L card that allows an emergency meeting to be called if someone has immediately actionable intel. It’s just that once you figure the game out, immediately actionable intel is usually a luxury nobody has and if they do have it then someone fucked up.
Was playing a round as L and saw Kira use the deathnote on camera, but knowing i couldnt do anything about it yet i kept my mouth shut until the meeting, when I did say something people wouldnt vote for kira because i wasnt 'convincing' enough and people told me I shouldve been running around shouting to everybody who kira is instead. I think one thing that Alpha hasn’t done yet is that Kira team is supposed to also kill random NPC whenever they can to get their task victory up and to get new cards to use to get allow for more chances to get investigator ids. Of course this also mean you get more chances to get caught with the death note
From what we see in the video, they’re definitely playing the game like they would Among Us, which means that neither of the teams are going for a task progression win, which is a shame because how fast the progress bar can fill up can put pressure on the opposing team
maybe they're supposed to, but right now it seems like they have a tremendous advantage just killing investigators. What's their incentive to go for a task victory if they can just win by killing L, which is faster and safer?
@@Wigsinator I dunno, with the more experienced lobbies I see on other channels like Noku, the Kira team gets outed super easily if they try to recklessly fish for L
@@Wigsinator Yeah it's super easy to be caught if people play at all seriously. People don't let you just walk into them and swipe IDs easily, and if you do, you're likely to be one of very few people in their notebook marked as suspicious. From there it's easy to narrow down who Kira is from even just 2 kills. It becomes even easier to narrow down if people know when anybody died and can therefore clear each other as not writing in the notebook at the time.

I still think that a way to have an "L's successor" would be good for this game, whether it be a command card or just upon Ls death, somebody becomes the new L who needs to die for a Kira victory, hell it could even just be a rule/role that could be turned on or off like shapeshifter/engineer/guardian angel etc from Among Us
Well if investigators get their bar halfway they get an L decoy that needs to be killed in order for Kira to continue. This is usually great for winning off tasks or just buying L time.
@@throwawaydetective9080 That's not what the L decoy does. It just gives more investigation progress if Kira fails to kill the decoy. Investigation and New World progress are far more potent than shown in the video though. It's been leaked that Mello is going to be a third faction and that there will be an L variant with Near. Honestly I'd like it too, but I also think it becomes really slanted towards the Investigators if they use their brains at all, which Jacob and his friends do not do.
This is a best off of a stream they did a while ago where they're purely noobies at the game and don't play like they should, in reality the game favors the L team quite a lot if you have a lobby with good players.

They should add that if L dies someone randomly becomes N but they are immediately revealed to everyone. That would make sure that Kira is still rewarded for an early guess but now they still have to chase down one more person and the investigators still get another chance to guess at Kira.
So I won't lie, Jacob's explanations are kind of all over the place. So here we go: *Team L* - L and the Investgators follow their assigned objectives (interrogating NPCs, delivering lost packages, investigating other players, etc) to fill the Invesigation Progress meter. Team Kira: - If the Kira Follower gets arrested while holding IDs, they are arrested and removed from the game altogether. The stolen IDs are returned to respective players. - If the New World Progress gauge is filled, L dies and Team Kira wins. This is done by judging criminals and hindering the Death Note Tests. - You can relinquish possession of the Death Note to your Follower. - NPCs can see you using the Tranceiver or Death Note. I’m very happy Jacob alpharad made a video on this stream bc I watched the highlights from everyone else a scraight up didn’t understand what was going on
There should be a “bonus round” mode. Where one of the dead players gets revived as Near. Add a second revived player as Mello (working with and separately from near) too. Might balance the game more.

The most hilarious about this is that the amount of people trying to convince them if only they play it a certain way it's actually a good game, hilarious 😂

I remember watching the part when he witnessed Adriana's end and then going to Sara to tell about what he just saw to just witness another scene. It was so hilarious 😂 And the fact that he was a Kira follower but he is still stunned makes it even better 🤣
I used to play this game on Byond called "Mitadake High". It was kind of the og among us, back in the early 2010s. You were supposed to roleplay as a highschool kid and try to find out which player was the killer, to avoid getting killed, or try to find an escape pass that would let you out the school's locked door. It had a Death Note mode where Kira had to try and find who had the shinigami eyes, and students would try to hide their name to avoid getting killed. Anyway, this game gives a good bit of nostalgia for those times, though to be honest everyone playing that game were assholes 😂
I've always liked that scene in the show where Light sprinted after L full tilt in order to get his ID.
and while frantically running L yells about the Kira percentage rising

Like "L died right away and ended the game" then they shouldn't have let others get near them "i didn't keep track of who could've taken my ID" then you should have been using the notes in the game or just remembered everyone who got close. Like the game has a bit of a learning curve but if you know the rules it's not that hard
I think I've learned that the second level mistake after being near people too much is L choosing to arrest someone themselves.
Jacob should just never say "I don't think it's Della"
please play this more often ,as someone who waches almost every mongy monday VOD on tuseday it is a nice change to see this game sometimes too
L doesn’t die this often in the game btw
They didn’t read the tutorial
Alpharad casually changing the thumbnail as often as HAL laboratories changes De-de-de’s design.
maybe the real killer within was the friends we made along the way... or maybe it was alpharad
hi bandai namco
As someone who read the entire block of text at the start, I am a part of that forty percent he guessed about.
Whats funny is in the little rule blurb thingy is mostly right from what I've seen from other videos
This video helped me better understand the gameplay then watching the VODs did. Maybe I didn't get far enough with them though...
And this one was very enjoyable to watch, so nothing lost there
every time i hear alpharad say "Look, I get it. You're tired of..." i scream
15:45 This entire sequence made me cry laughing.
good to see the game had the good sense to end after L dies, unlike actual fucking Death Note
"Look I get it, your tired of among us."
I've watched every mongy monday vod for the past year
I dont think such a thing is possible
Light: Achoo!
L: Bless you, Kira.
Light: Thank you.
A pretty good concept
0:02 jacob why would you think that😭
you could say the death note makes you a killer within
I’m very happy Jacob alpharad made a video on this stream bc I watched the highlights from everyone else a scraight up didn’t understand what was going on
There should be a “bonus round” mode. Where one of the dead players gets revived as Near.
Add a second revived player as Mello (working with and separately from near) too.
Might balance the game more.
Oh how i missed Adriana!! Its nice to see her in videos again!!
This game looks a bit overwhelming but also super fun if you got the right group to play!! I hope to see more on the second channel or twitch!
I watched the vods and they were hilarious! I'm happy this video turned out so well!❤
0:34 thank you alpharad, and i am subbed :)
I’ve been waiting for this video. The second this game came out, I knew Alpha was gonna do a video
1:40 Even Kira was amused at how fast the game ended and he couldn't help but laugh with everyone else!
I'm so glad rat strat made it into this one, it was so funny to watch from della's stream when it happened
Also when your arrested you have your name displayed so Kira can kill you without the id
we should get more of this game. I may not know anything about Death Note, but this was extremely funny to watch and it looked very visually appealing and i might actually consider watching Death Note
that was indeed the funniest part of the video to sneak in a plea for the viewer to subscribe
Should’ve been called “Not Among Us” for the full nostalgia.
i felt like crying when i saw this i love this game thank you alpharad among us
LOOK, he gets it.
We're tired of Among Us
The most hilarious about this is that the amount of people trying to convince them if only they play it a certain way it's actually a good game, hilarious 😂
I heard “Look I get it You’re tired of among us” and thought of everyone’s favorite bitcoin miner Pretend
Oh my God this is my dream game come true. Like I already turn every game of Among Us that I partake in into a Death Note setpiece, but this is just HEAVEN!
10:15 the people who WHAT
I’ve put 45 hours in this game. It’s incredible genuinely
My favorite part of this game is how someone has been uploading rounds where they act as Columbo
This series is what convinced me to finally watch Death Note. Neither disappointed!
I remember watching the part when he witnessed Adriana's end and then going to Sara to tell about what he just saw to just witness another scene. It was so hilarious 😂
And the fact that he was a Kira follower but he is still stunned makes it even better 🤣
