Iran launched its first-ever direct attack on Israel. Iran's Revolutionary Guards said it had launched over 300 drones and missiles at Israel in retaliation for the Damascus strike. This has been a massive escalation in the long-running covert war between the two regional foes. In a message to Israel and the US, Tehran said any threat would be met with a proportional and reciprocal response. Iran also said its forces won't hesitate to take further defensive measures. The Iranian mission to the UN warned the US to keep out of the conflict. Israel says 99% of Israel's drones and missiles were interpreted. Israel has accused Iran of pushing the Middle East towards escalation. It has called Iran's latest attack a dangerous act.
