I might be able to explain this, and him being so pale fits right in with the theory. It is because your black, but..., tinted makes more sense. You're not as translucent in the skin and eyes, thus we can't see as far inside and communicate different things about your health and emotions. We can't see inside as well, can't see blood rise to the service, can't see blushing, can't see you pupils if your eyes are dark,.., tinted enough. During intimacy this really matters with eyes contact. In short, you can't love as well, we can't see your love as well. This explains why I felt black women were so boring or emotionless compared to white women. They couldn't stare back, because I couldn't see very well or at all into their eyes. Couldn't see the pupil which feels like their soul.
