I love how you also mentioned which selectors are commonly used, and which aren't. Concise yet brimming with info, just like the cheat sheet, this was a perfect companion video for it! I watched this with the cheat sheet open on another screen! 😄
When it started getting overwhelming towards the end, I referred the cheat sheet, stopped to revise it for a moment and understood each section to move to next. Never felt so confident about this topic earlier....you have a gift of teaching, Kyle. Thank you for this wonderful compilation of examples!
My two biggest stumbling blocks in CSS are selectors and positioning. This video helps clear up my confusion around selectors by clearly demonstrating how to use and combine them. Superb!
I just came to learn CSS Selectors for Web-Scrapping without any previous knowledge. But Your Teaching style taught me very easily and in full detail. Thank you Bro
Refreshing to not have to deal with a language barrier when trying to learn "Technical" content. No offense to anyone with an accent. I'm just saying the way my brain is set up it immediately started learning once i clicked play. which isn't always the case when someone has an accent. Glad I found this old Gem!
Thank you, Kyle for a short yet comprehensive tutorial. Your projected stamina is amazing. I'm out of breath watching your video, but fortunately, I have a clearer understanding of the behavior of several pseudo-classes that up until now I didn't understand.
This helped a LOT. I’m currently taking a bootcamp. I think what still throws me off is when we give something the class of a color…. “Give this li with the class of red the background of green” just jumbles me a bit.
Not even three minutes into your video, and I already made a high breakthru! I've been using "id" instead of "class", and I've been wondering why I was unable to style them in css like you just did, lmao. This channel is amazing.
Hey buddy. Lots of love from India. I was not able to learn these CSS selectors i tried various websites/ some youtube videos and this video is very very helpful. Also your cheat sheet is just superb. You are doing amazing job. Really thank you soo much People may say that this is another way of taking their email id but hey folks this is for your own betterment. I suggest go and watch this video and grab free cheat sheet. You will thank him too if you genuinely wants to learn CSS stuff
Many thanks. I surfed around and this is the best one, where demonstration is simple and straight forward; and most importantly, easy to understand and apply, with ancillary supplements articles + cheat sheet - thanks for your help.
I'm 36 and have finally decided to formalise my computer science knowledge with a degree. I've come to realise, watching these videos, that on a long list of ways to impart lasting knowledge to my brain, 2 hour lectures are right at the bottom.
Thanks a lot, you teach us the practical CSS selector in a litte amount of time with examples, what an efficiency! Things are really "simplified" in this channel!
Using selectors i was always facing problems this video cleared all my confusion in just 20 mints thanks man,u got thumbs up___________________________________....
The methodical approach you're taking to these even helps with redundant information. A space between selectors designating the latter trails inside precedent manifolds, > and + being directly after, (of course) looking to include chained class selectors in a comma-delimited-list of a style to be applied as it would, and the gotcha insight regarding a + detailed selector not matched at that direct-after point goes un-applied where a ~ for all after finds it. The perspectives of && and II often get lost in selector notations, but adding them in adds nice fluidity. A lot just extra fortified for keeping notations clear and applying more of them. Pseudo-elements ::before and ::after were spooking me a bit but I've loved implementations, and a prompt verb pairing is so helpful to clarify: those declarations *create* those elements referred to as ::before and ::after, in reference to the stated selector. Hence underlying and overlying of elements will not be found in the html and are not accounted for that way at all when producing the look!!! So phantom lol. I've gotta check on how the ~, etc is supposed to be different categorically; i.e. in terms of siblings it does not seem to see any kind of descendant constructs; and about 9 more minutes. But the nuances add much to the enjoyable approaches.
Awesome! I really love this kind of videos where I can quickly get the idea of any particular topic and it's interesting to watch the way you teach. Really appreciate your efforts hard work.
I already know a lot about CSS selectors, just wanted to improve my skills a bit. in the beginning, I thought he cant teach me enough. then the game completely changed after 10 minutes video.
I wish it has double like button really thanks for it bro in small time you really give specific knowledge and also thanks for cheat sheet love from.india bro 👍
Wow! Your videos are just amazing. 👏 Thanks for sharing your knowledge and making CSS much easier than reading blogs. What a great teacher! 💪 PS: The FREE CSS Selector Cheat Sheet I got looks as professional as your videos. 👌
Great Video! You're fast and comprehensive. I love it. Keep up the good work. I downloaded the cheat sheet for some newbies around the office. Super helpful.
My teacher said never to name the Class with the color because a lot of customers will change the color later on. If you name the Class name Yellow, and later on you give green color for the background. This is a conflict of reality. Anyway, overall, you are a good teacher, such a talented young age.
3 роки тому+1
All the teachers I know use Classes with colors to teach, because it's very easy to see when an item has changed its color, and identify it, but only for teaching purposes, that's why, I guess. I've never seen any teacher using classes with colors in real life! :)
That was a really good video and that guy i very good at explaining and teaching. Thank you very much for taking the time to create all of your UA-cam content.
Please make a tut about tab within a tab using html, css, js and Accessibility attributes like ARIA. I couldn't find a clear one on the net. It would really help and to see it on this channel would be amazing! :)
I like svelte for it's automatically scoped styles. Then you can use "div" selectors, or better still semantic selectors like barcode { color: black }. No ids or classes needed. clean readable html and css!
