Loved the story, quite entertaining. Hope you get to sing with him soon enough. Paolo Nutini is the only artist in my generation whom I've grown to love and appreciate as much as the 'great ones' from my parents' generation, like Pink Floyd, Dylan, Cohen, Otis, Rory, Van Morrison etc.
I love Paolo I have followed him since These Streets. Sadly I can’t listen to Last Request it has sad memories for me. I had to have my German Shepherd put to sleep and I got the vet to come to my home to do it, I had These Streets playing and by the time the injection went in Last Request started playing. I had stayed strong as I didn’t want Jake, my dog to pick up on what was happening. But as soon as that song came on I just broke down and started crying and begging Jake not to go. Thankfully Paolo doesn’t play it as much and when he does he does it in a different tempo, so I can listen to it for a short while but it will always hurt.
I've loved Paolo's music for ever..he is just such a special guy...recently he sang Last Request as a tribute to Sixto Rodriguez, who recorded his version and posted it to Paolo..Paolo adored Sixto, who sadly died recently. All his music is incredible💙
Brilliant story. Love Paolo. I only heard Last Request a few months ago looking as his back catalogue and instantly loved it. His lyrics are always so passionate. Hope he sees this 🤞
I loved listening to your story & hope/would like to think that the real reason for not contacting you was something genuine, as I get the impression & believe that Paolo & his family are genuinely lovely people and to not even maybe give you a call as a courtesy to say thanks but no thanks, I hope & to think it was something like losing your card. In saying that sometimes maybe initially fame changes you but you go back to your values over time if that makes sense. Anyway I hope to meet Paolo too one day, been a fan since July 22 although prior to that I did like & listen to a few songs over the years x
