Finally! Somebody that really knows how to make good dressing! I musta watched 20 videos on the subject before I literally liked only yours. Thank you!
I adore you!! You are one of the best African-American cooks on UA-cam. You're eloquent, very detailed and explanatory. Most of all, your dishes are simply amazing! I'm so thankful for you I've learn a lot.
+KelRom812 aint it the truth
Demiere Lee I subscribe to all of them! Well except for Charlie Andrews, but I will. I also like Noreen's kitchen as an honorable mention even though she's not Black but her cooking style is very homey, honest and warm; similar to Carolyn.
KelRom : Agree and the sister wear gloves when cooking. 💯✊💕🌹
The best sausage and cornbread dressing recipe I've seen so far. 👍
you need a show on the cooking channel
I swear I could smell the goodness thru my tv screen ,I usually do a bread based dressing but im dying to try this one

Hi Carolyn! I am just now discovering you. Your cooking videos are so enjoyable and informative. We don't eat much meat at home so thanks for mentioning the vegetarian version of this great looking recipe. You're a sweetheart!
Living on your channel today! I’m a UA-cam as well, I love ❤️ your upbeat personality 😘
I CANNOT wait to make this! It looks and sounds SO good!
this recipe was great I used jiffy cornbread instead and was the bomb. thanks
Shatae Gonzales did you use 2 boxes of jiffy?
Very talented Lady....gonna give this recipe a try for xmas.. Looks soooo yummie and moist.
Wow that looks amazing!!! Now I love how you explain so well everything! Can’t find that around on YT! I’m gonna make this
Danny Fenty - I agree
I just found your channel and I LOVE how you explain why do do certain things - like adding the oil and butter. I've never tried cornbread dressing before and after seeing this I want to make it. You mentioned that you love the brown part on top. Do you think I could put make them in muffin tins - so I can freeze them and eat them at a later date and there will be more brown around the edges?
Yes you can do that. Thanks so much for watching :)
CookingWithCarolyn
lol....muffin tins?? just freeze a boatload!!
Just cut your dressing in squares, the size you want for each meal. This is easier than cleaning muffin pan's.
THAT STUFFING LOOKS DELICIOUS
I just loveeeee watching your videos!
Interesting recipe, it’s a “must-try”👍🏾
Love how you explain things while cooking I’m going to try this recipe. Thank you!
Thanks Felicia!
Finally someone know how to make moist tastey dressing. You are a fantastic cook. Happy thanksgiving.
Thanks Mary :)
Here in 2020. Great recipe. Getting ready for Thanksgiving. Searching for recipes early.

Gd seasoning is so delicious!!!!
Thanks Carolyn
Oh lord! This will be my very first cornbread stuffing, and I'm making it this Thanksgiving.
Alright Bonnie. You'll be fine :)
MY GOD!!!😋 im ready to fix me a plate👍👍👍
love. it
Looks delicious!!
I wish I could be at your house for Thanksgiving!
Happy Holidays Carolyn!!!! I made your sage and sausage dressing for Thanksgiving.....my family wants more for Christmas. Is it too late to order GD seasonings?
We're always taking orders but it probably won't make it for Christmas even if it was mailed priority mail but you'll have it for by New Year's
By the way love your recipes I follow them to a T always delicious
that looks so good I like watching your videos
I hope all is well with you.❤❤❤
Looks so good!!! 👍👍
Very similar to my recipe!
💜
Can you do a Black eye pea recipe?
I have a recipe but the video is not up. Here it is bit.ly/2isdIKO
CookingWithCarolyn OK Thank You!!
Hi Carolyn. Can i use the cornbread that i have to bake and a bag of sage cornbread stuffing with the sausages and chicken stock, onions, celery & a little green peppers
I guess, you might need to test it out to see if you like it
This dish looks really good, but I would want my final mixture to be a bit more coarse before baking it in the pan. How could I keep the cornbread in larger chunks?
+nphowe Oh yeah, all you have to do use less liquid. Instead of using 8 cups of chicken stock, use about 6 cups and the dressing should be right where you want it.
Thank you!
so easy to follow... thanks a bunch :-)
I love your videos!
Making this!!!
wow loos good
I saw this lady on YT make the cornbread as you did and she added her veggies/meat to the wet mixture and then baked it all at the same time!!!! It came out looking 👌🏾 What do you think about that.
Do stuffing crumbs come on a box?
What is the brand of turkey sausage you're using
Do you cover the cornbread while it sits?
No, I just let it cool uncovered.
looks good
CAROLYN CAROLYN gurlll that dressinggggg... OMG!!! Just finished making it SOOO MOIST AND FLAVORFUL THE BEST dressing I’ve ever made for Thanksgiving and even though I made it in one pan it only took about 1hr/and 20 min thank you so much for sharing.. oh and with that giblet gravy gurlll I might have to Slap myself!!!!
Do you ship your diamond spice to Canada?
Are there any measurements? I would really like to try this for thanksgiving. This would be my 1st time, & I don’t want to mess it up by eyeballing. Thanks🤎
Hi Anissa! Yes here’s the link www.gdseasoning.com/post/sausage-and-sage-cornbread-dressing-recipe-holiday-series-cooking-with-carolyn
@@CookingWithCarolyn thanks SO MUCH! Happy holidays to U & yours☺️🤎
I love your channel! I'm going to make my cornbread today so it'll be ready to use by Thanksgiving but I would like to know if I should just let my cooked cornbread sit out on my counter uncovered/covered until Thursday? Or in the fridge uncovered/covered? Thanks!
After it's completely cool. I let it sit out for one day covered with saran wrap and I poke a hole in the saran so the air can get to it. You know air to bread will make a little stale. I put it in the fridge for the second day still covered.
Thanks!
I need a regular bread stuffing recipe please.... My husband does not like cornbread.
What can you use if you don't have your (diamond seasoning) instead?
A low sodium cajun seasoning is as close as I can get you. Try to find one that has 150mg or less that way you can control the salt better in the entire dish.
Looks Great! This is a little too wet for our taste but a great beginning. Nice Job!
To make it less wet just use less liquid. On the recipe I recommended 6 cups instead of 8.
Hi Carolyn! I love your recipes and will be trying this dressing this Thanksgiving. I have a quick question for you though, do you ever use cream of chicken inside your dressing? I'm asking because that's normally what we add in and i just want to know if you think it's unnecessary. Thank you!
I’ve seen it done but I’ve never done it. If that’s a favorite ingredient you can adjust the recipe accordingly. Since there’s stock in the recipe you may need to swap the cream soup for the stock cup for cup. I wouldn’t do more than a couple of cups.
CookingWithCarolyn thank you so much for your response! Have a Happy Thanksgiving!!!!
Can I omit the sausage?
L TYLER Absolutely. No problem at all👍🏽
your lipstick is great
+Nounou Malaika Thanks :D
Hello....I cannot find fresh sage. Can I use ground sage? Also, I don't have the time to order grand diamond seasonings. What is a substitute for the gd seasoning?
Yes you can use dried sage but remember to use 1/2 the amount of the measurement. Dried herbs are more potent than fresh.
You can use a low sodium cajun seasoning in place of GDS. That's as close as you can get, about 150 mg of sodium. Read the label.
Carolyn how much chopped garlic in the jar equals 6 cloves
Thanks so much.....can minced garlic be used in place
I didn't get my grand diamond seasoning that I ordered. I left a voicemail and no one called back. @Carolyn
does this freeze well?
Absolutely.
CookingWithCarolyn would it be like a freezer to fridge or would it be better to let it come to room temp then cook? I know it sounds crazy but, I have never froze dressing but, I would love to have this on hand for other meals like chicken or smothered porkchops. thank you for replying. happy holidays!!
Just take it from the freezer to the fridge a day or two in advance. Let it thaw under refrigeration. When you reheat it put it in a baking dish, whether it fully thawed or partially thawed, cover it, and reheat until its ready to eat. Done and done :)
Can this recipe be cut in half?
I order my gd seasoning and I have never received it....this was before Thanksgiving.
Heather Paige Paige, you should have emailed me way before now. It has tracking, we need to find it. Email me at carolyn@gdseasoningdotcom. Did you use this name on your order?
Good thing your name is the same here. I was able to find your order info, it was placed on 11/15, processed and mailed on 11/17 and the tracking says it was delivered at 3:54 PM on 11/20/17.
can this recipe be cut in half?
+Ian Williams Yes!
Yummy dressings is not dressing without sage!!! Lol
+sparkle2012jt Yes Honey!

Yes!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Wow very nice 🤩 I really don't like dressing cut into a square no way
Carolyn, I'm hypnotized watching you cook! You were born for this!
+Audrey Mckinney Thank You :)
Thank you Carolyn for your wonderful care and love you have for food. I am going to prepare this for Thanksgiving. 2020
Thanks so much!
I always wondered does the COLOR of the dressing matter? Every woman I know that makes cornbread dressing, it's always a grey-green color, not the most appealing but it is soooo good. When I've made my cornbread dressing it was more brown yellow, kind of like yours, but never tasted as good and I wondered if I was missing a step or so.
Thanks for sharing all of your recipes! Have you thought about publishing a cook book? Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
I'm here every year looking at the holiday series recipes!
The very best looking dressing I’ve seen, ‘Hands Down’ on the Internet. She’s the best! Whenever I see two cans of Campbell’s, I’m gone, nope, won’t waste my time.
That looks so tasty and good. Think I'll try it I love my own yet the Italian sausage makes the difference
