  • I said I'd get a video of this job and here it is :)
This was such nice work to do. Lovely big flat fields, perfect rows and the baler just hoovered it up like nothing else. And I turned the monitor down on this baler so the video turned out grand too! Great job.

The guy I was working for really liked to keep everything very tidy in fairness to him.

@@eddiethornton1859 You've had a very bad run of luck so, sorry to hear it. Don't worry about the bales anyway, I'm not annoyed or anything. It's just a bit of work. More work will turn up locally hopefully.
I have been tedding silage and drawing bales on hire with the last 3 years and also driving for Gerry Burke for the last 3 years. I have enough money saved now after my New Zealand trip to finance a baler and wrapper and go full-time working for myself on hire this year. So it will be my 4th year on hire but my first year baling.
I'm not ready for the season yet at all though, I have to service my few bits of machinery and do some repairs to my 7810 ford. It will be another month before I am ready to go baling.

@@eddiethornton1859 I don't have a lot of reliable help, that's why I'm quitting the drawing silage this year. I need to be at home ready to go if the phone rings, not away drawing silage for Gerry. I have one or two friends who might help me out when they can but I'm not going to have enough work to hire anyone full-time.
My father might help me if he can but he is usually too busy on the farm. There's 2 brothers there too but one is too young and the other is not into farming or machinery.
The gear I have gathered up so far is a ford 7810, a 6 rotor krone tedder, a lely rotonde rake and now this year a mchale wrapper and a massey 3130 baler. The wrapper is just a standard one with a joystick but it's fairly fresh like.
There's other stuff there too like a JF harvester and a small 7ft disc mower and things but they are just for the farm at home, they wouldn't do any hire work really. Our neighbour would mow the silage for us, he has a 10ft conditioner mower.
I don't know anyone with a t6.140 but I drive a t6.155 for a farmer and its actually a grand tractor. It pulls a 2500 gallon tank very well. Loads of power in it. It hasn't been mapped or had an adblue delete or anything. It's completely standard.
