Gorillas are strong and more nimble than they were given credit for in this video. However, what sets these other animals apart is that they are predatory hunters. Gorillas live on 95% vegetation. They eat green leafy things and fibrous stalks of plants mostly. Occasionally they will munch on some ants, but they don't hunt and kill other animals. That's a huge difference when determining who would win in a fight. Also if you're going to include a damn wussy giraffe then you better also include the much more ferocious African bull elephant.
While I think I can agree that an aggressive encounter with any of these animals would lead to a large male gorilla taking the L, there's a lot of inaccuracies in the video. The one I wanted to point out is with just how ridiculously outmatched one would be against a fully grown adult male grizzly. Bears' major veins and arteries are located much closer to the center of their body than many other animals, so a wound would have to be much deeper to inflict a fatal blow to them. This is why you can see two hulking bears tear into each other and often not see a fatality. Bears are also one of the many mammals that have loose skin which is incredibly valuable for animals to wriggle out of fangs and claws without serious injury, which is something gorillas also don't have. Like Casual Geographic once said about them, God took his time with bears...
It is funny how he compared grizzly beating up a moose which is much larger 🤣🤣🤣 gorilla just takes the moose's antlers and turn it around and there goes the neck .. nothing to compare a gorilla with moose lol

A mosquito can kill a gorilla too. It's flight begins and it assaults with it's tiny teeth where it counts the most. The gorilla might just leap back in grueling pain and say if there was a cliff behind him, he could fall to his death, assuming said cliff was 50 meters or higher and there weren't a bunch of brush and whatnot cushioning the fall.
1) A silverback gorilla would pumel a crocodile on land to death with head blows. 2) Despite the size difference, I think the giraffe's lack of maneuverability could spell trouble if a larger gorilla climbed on it's neck. 3) As for large felines, a silverback could break their jaws with one blow, especially a leopard. I also think the gorilla could avoid their hind legs by grabbing their head area, especially the male lion's mane which would prove to be a disadvantage for the lion. 4) A gorilla would also pumel any bear with forceful blows that would shock it.
There’s no chance for a gorilla against a bear even a lion comes out on top 9 times out of 10 gorillas are nothing to mess with but there’s levels to it
@@dyl7729 I think you underestimate the aggression potential and brute strength of the silverback gorilla. It's easy to confuse predation with aggression, as the commentator does in the video. In the case of the aforementioned foes, the gorilla might lack the predatory skills; however, in terms of strength and aggression the silverback brings exponentially more to the table, except for the hippo. A silverback could break any bears nose and jaws easily with a single blow. A lion (especially a lone lioness) would be very vulnerable to broken jaws and chokeholds from a large silverback that can weigh over 500 lbs and boasts much greater strength and athleticism in contact battle. The silverback beats all of these, except a hippo or croc in water. On land it would handle even those, especially a crocodile which it would just beat to death with head blows, or, break it's jaws sideways.
@@guitarchannel5676 without getting into too much specifics I think the fact that gorillas are often killed by leopards tells you everything you need to know, they stand a chance but due to cats having far superior agility and predatory instincts to go for the neck along with claws and razor sharp teeth they usually win that fight gorillas are peaceful herbivores and usually use their size to try and scare off potential threats but against a grizzly it’s got as much chance as a human does against a gorilla pretty much none, the size and strength advantage goes to the bear aswell as having claws and the power to break a moose’s back or take a man’s head clean off with zero effort combine that with thick layers of fat and fur and incredible bone density
Crocodiles can survive being shot in the head and bit on the head by other crocodiles (and their jaw muscles are far, far stronger than anything a gorilla can output)… If it tries to hit one on the head it’s going to have its arm bit. At best it gets torn off. At worst the gorilla gets thrashed around like a ragdoll and dies from blunt force trauma from hitting the ground and being literally torn apart Average crocodile is well over twice the size of an average gorilla and average (350-400kg) crocodiles have been known to rarely prey on 800kg rhinos or even larger giraffes, with one adult giraffe being killed ON LAND!
I have seen many animals but Crocodile is really different , in videos it looks normal and small, when i saw i was captivated by how big it was actually, it was incredible.
Any animal that is bigger than gorilla can defeat a Gorilla. That includes Elephant, rhinos, gaurs, Wild Buffalo, Bulls, Tigers, Lions, Crocodiles, Polar and Brown Bears.......etc.
The gorilla has the a big advantage of movement so it will 0 to mid diff the crocodile by either smashing its scull, opening its jaw wide open (breaking it) or simply tear it apart
How is it going to overpower the jaw muscles of a crocodile. Crocodiles’ jaw muscles are well over twice as strong as anything a gorilla can offer Not to mention their skulls are resistant to both bites from other crocodiles, which are FAR more deadly than a gorilla’s attacks, but also resistant to BULLETS. There is an instance of a 350kg crocodile killing an 800kg rhinoceros on its own. This isn’t even a contest, the gorilla can’t feasibly *hurt* it. Between the osteoderms and the fact that the crocodile’s head and neck ALONE can be upwards of 150kg + the incredibly resilient skull, that’s like punching a block of tungsten.
I'm 5'11" and weigh 160 Lbs., but when in Africa, I came across an angry and hungry Silverback. He was about a thousand Lbs. and ripped with more muscles I've ever seen in my life, and then he attacked me, and I stepped aside, and did a spinning back kick that knocked the wind out of him. I then mounted him and applied a Kimura, almost breaking his arm, and he whimpered and ran off like a scared little monkey. It was glorious. He never messed with me again after that. True story.
Was the Chrysler building violently moving around trying to knock him off? And the muscles in the giraffes neck are stronger than the entire body of the gorilla. Giraffes have killed lions with kicks and tramples. Lions are bigger, faster and stronger than gorillas.
Decent video not sure I agree with all because some of the less agile creatures would struggle more not to mention superior intelligence the ability to use weapons which a gorilla can unlike any of the others would definitely play a roll
The game will be different IF the Gorilla had a claws. Cats is always be a strong enemy when it comes to fight because they've complete accessories and ability of fighting, they have a strong claws and canines, a flexible body, faster reaction even a snakes feels difficult to land a bites on a cats because of they fast reaction, their thick fur is also help, their powerful back leg and many more.
To everyone saying a gorilla will punch a bear out (or even vice versa): carnivores don't box. A bear may swat at a gorilla, but they are built with incredible power to slash their claws through their prey. They resemble grapplers more than boxers.. A gorilla would probably hit for separation in order to make an escape. But their strength is used to maneuver their body. Bears run like a horse and are built for aggression. Grizzlies stand up if they are challenged to the face and reach a height of 9', more that 3' taller that a gorilla.
I’d be more interested to know how well the skulls of the animals mentioned would fare if a full grown silverback was pummelling them, as in who would survive the longest? Also can you imagine a humans intelligence with a gorillas strength and physical qualities! Would potentially be unbeatable in combat due to strategising
You'll be out wrestled by them even with human level skills. They're too strong and fast for the Ape. They are not as vulnerable to pain as primates are. Remember, those apex predators taken down 1000-1500 bison and moose.
A gorilla can easily kill a giraffe , when a 500+lb gorilla charges full speed and rams a giraffe sideways the giraffe looses it's balance and falls on the ground which gives an opening for the gorilla to bite the neck. When it comes to lions and tigers it would just throw an enormous boulder on top of them when they are just off guard and crush them. Sharp claws and teeth are the only things which has some chance while fighting a gorilla
no bro gorilla are omnivores they eat both plants and meats but they only eat insects or small animal they can never defeat a girrafe and why should girrafe charge a gorilla girrafe are much faster and they kill gorrila easily without losing stamina and if they dont lose stamina noo chances of imbalance girrafe is the only animal who has strongest kicking power one kick .....gorilla dead.. so if gorrila charges by side then what girrafe will see the charge... bro dont cry it is impossible
@@heninregmi4484 I've seen videos of lions even single lions pushing giraffe's of balance by making a strike. Giraffe's are tall but not stocky , a gorilla can charge with a force of 4409lbs which is enough to shatter a bullet proof glass
gorilla vs bear debate: this really only comes down to 1 strength. The bear has loose skin and a blubber layer, the gorilla doesnt. strike a gorilla in the neck with a weapon, massive damage occurs. strike a bear in the neck with the same weapon and all you damage is skin and blubber. the gorilla has tight skin like a human. we get cut easily and we bleed a lot because our veins are at our skin level. Bears are like dogs, you have to actually puncture very deep into the animal in order to hit anything vital. in a straight up fight, the bear wins 10/10 times because of this. Even if the gorilla could manage to inflict more damage than the bear, the gorilla would still easily bleed out long before the bear got tired.
Gorillas are so underrated. Their strength, long limbs, agility, and intelligence would allow it to Mount these animals and simply choke them out in seconds
What about if a gorilla came up against a flock of 500 chickens? And if the chickens were aggressive rather than passive, they could use their beaks and peck the gorilla until its demise! Or if the gorilla won, he would have chicken dinners for a long time!
It's challenging to weigh a Gorillas' intelligence, I get mass, weight, teeth, strength, etc...which are quantifiable however a gorilla would be able to problem solve and their use advantages over their opponent. Entertaining video!
Why does everybody keep bringing up the Gorillaz intelligence our intelligence does us no good against these animals so what the f*** are you talking about it means nothing absolutely nothing in the life and death struggle, what's the gorilla is going to lose every single time
Spanish bull can also easily kill a silverback gorilla. Almost 3 times its weight, more powerfull, faster and much more brave and always fight to dead, never runs away.
Had a family member work in a animal habitat facility. The gorillas in there was very wise. Any time a bigger species would walk by the gorilla would brake a tree limb off and carry it like a weapon. I’m a firm believer the humble giants are truly under estimated
Yes they would. It really doesn't have to be a natural item. As a texted to that author, primates grab discarded item from people & experiment with them. In truth, they spend more time studying us then we study them. Plane & auto parts are often taken by primates & used by them. And if a gorilla is swinging some steel transmission parts, even a hippo could be killed. A 1/2 steel rod, if stabed by a gorilla, could go straight inside the Hippo's body. So how's the hippo ever going to get it out? The Hippo cannot live with a 1 foot bar stuck in it's back. it's not sanitary is a Hippo's pond
I was in a fight with a gorilla once, and it was an easy win for me. Okay, it might have been a chimpanzee, but I still beat it. On second thought, it was just a lemur, but I did get the best of it. Okay, it was a wasp, and it stung me on the arm, and I couldn’t work for three days. It was a gnat.
A colleague was stung by the gnats huge muscular cousin, the mosquito, while salmon fishing few years ago....He was actually away from work for three days because of it... I bought him a "Can't work, my arm is in a cast" t-shirt with a flyfishing motive for when he came back and he sometimes wears it to work with a huge grin when he comes in lol
This comparison between gorillas and the "top 6 opponents" was educational and entertaining. The inclusion of the giraffe on the list surprised and it is shocking that rhinos and elephants didn't.

I went to Rawanda in '94 as part of a humanitarian effort. While near the Zaire and Congo border, I, unfortunately saw up close and personal, a humongous Silverback that some poachers had captured and brought down from the mountains and tried to get it into this ridiculous enclosure. 10 idiots tried to get it under control with ropes when the gorilla yanked the morons around and managed to get hold of and killed 5 of them, ripping them apart like pieces of paper right in front of us. It was ridiculously scary to have been so close to this animal and horrifying to witness this take place. Those idiots did kill the gorilla with multiple shots of a large caliber rifle. It did not go down easy. They paid a heavy price in front of everyone for their stupidity. It still enrages me thinking about it. The strength of this beautiful creature was hard to accept. Those dudes didn't have anywhere close to a chance. A day I'll never forget as long as I live.
I am glad that you included the giraffe. Despite how much people underestimate the animal, most people don’t know from first glance or light research that giraffes have been known to behead lions, and ferociously guard their kill or their dead calves. They will run out at the lions and once they even kicked one to death as revenge. Point being: don’t underestimate the giraffe. EVER.
one thing to say about tigers that have not been mentioned in the video, man eating tigers that had to have been put down by professional hunters have proven themselves capable of surviving multiple shotgun blasts and rifle rounds and still being able to pose a threat to an *armed human* hunter.

If you get grazed on the arm by a 12.7mm projectile, odds are you will lose that limb from the shoulder and down, and the energy is just simply way to high to survive a direct hit. Shotguns are insanely deadly at close range, but for every yard/meter/whatever away, no other weapon has a higher decrease in lethality. The point im trying to make I think is that we (people) tend to look at "gunshots" as a whole, when it can easily be compared to being hit by a vehicle crossing a road. It depends on everything from where you got hit to the speed of the car, or if it was a truck etc etc.. Saying gunshots are survivable most of the times isnt accurate enough to be a general statement. Saying most gunshot cases have a higher survival rate can be true, because in that you can also imply that most gunshot cases are low calibre, wich is the reason for the high level of survival. I know this is a long response for a little nitpicking, im not trying to berate or anything, just simply adding context to your comment.
The tiger can also end up dying from the injuries led by the silverback If it is not a fight to death the tiger will be more likely to retreat especially from a dominant silverback which is always ready to fight till death actually gorillas are stronger than tiger's in physcial terms and have a higher bite force Since tigers have longer canines then both have same bite effectivness also if the gorilla manages to slam the tiger to the ground it can deal the tiger with knockout blows so i think both can end up dying

The much more efficient front limbs and it’s ability to use it just like humans, but much much stronger in comparison is a vital part. It will use Hands mostly rather than biting.
Crocodiles can survive being shot in the head and bit on the head by other crocodiles (and their jaw muscles are far, far stronger than anything a gorilla can output)…
If it tries to hit one on the head it’s going to have its arm bit. At best it gets torn off. At worst the gorilla gets thrashed around like a ragdoll and dies from blunt force trauma from hitting the ground and being literally torn apart
Average crocodile is well over twice the size of an average gorilla and average (350-400kg) crocodiles have been known to rarely prey on 800kg rhinos or even larger giraffes, with one adult giraffe being killed ON LAND!
Bears survive bullets from shotguns gorillas dont punch they wrestle bear negs

The gorilla has the a big advantage of movement so it will 0 to mid diff the crocodile by either smashing its scull, opening its jaw wide open (breaking it) or simply tear it apart
How is it going to overpower the jaw muscles of a crocodile. Crocodiles’ jaw muscles are well over twice as strong as anything a gorilla can offer
Not to mention their skulls are resistant to both bites from other crocodiles, which are FAR more deadly than a gorilla’s attacks, but also resistant to BULLETS.
Finally it debunks the myth that a gorilla can defeat a lion or a tiger
Gorillas are killed by leopards so of course a lion or tiger could destroy a gorilla
it can
A gorilla will never encounter a tiger since they live on different continents. Gorillas in Africa, tigers in Asia.
It can…
It debunks nothing. This guy has never seen a gorilla fight one of these animals. You or me either.
It's rather pointless to mention a Hippo because they don't live in the jungle, so it's a match-up that wouldn't happen.
A Gorilla hasn‘t got any chance against a lion or a bear… i mean just look on the claws, they eat things that are way bigger thn them
I think the gorilla has a chance if he's not ambushed. The bear I worry about
I'm 5'11" and weigh 160 Lbs., but when in Africa, I came across an angry and hungry Silverback. True story.
Nice dream
I believe a grizzly bear and polar bear would destroy a Silverback FOR SURE!!!!!!!!
Polar bear is the largest land predator on the planet .
The only animals that a gorilla will come across in the wild are hippos and crocodiles lol 😂
I once saw a Gorilla climb the Chrysler building in New York, so I dont think it would have any problem getting to a giraffe's neck.
or break its legs like toothpicks.
Was the Chrysler building violently moving around trying to knock him off? And the muscles in the giraffes neck are stronger than the entire body of the gorilla. Giraffes have killed lions with kicks and tramples. Lions are bigger, faster and stronger than gorillas.

Like if the gorrila is incapable of dodging a jiraff kick, they asume the gorrila will just roll over and let it happen
The game will be different IF the Gorilla had a claws. Cats is always be a strong enemy when it comes to fight because they've complete accessories and ability of fighting, they have a strong claws and canines, a flexible body, faster reaction even a snakes feels difficult to land a bites on a cats because of they fast reaction, their thick fur is also help, their powerful back leg and many more.
meanwhile Elephants hold my tusks
To everyone saying a gorilla will punch a bear out (or even vice versa): carnivores don't box. A bear may swat at a gorilla, but they are built with incredible power to slash their claws through their prey. They resemble grapplers more than boxers.. A gorilla would probably hit for separation in order to make an escape. But their strength is used to maneuver their body. Bears run like a horse and are built for aggression. Grizzlies stand up if they are challenged to the face and reach a height of 9', more that 3' taller that a gorilla.

I think also, take in consideration. That lions have much more fighting experience and are used to being hurt.
Sharp claws and teeth are the only things which has some chance while fighting a gorilla
no bro gorilla are omnivores they eat both plants and meats but they only eat insects or small animal they can never defeat a girrafe and why should girrafe charge a gorilla girrafe are much faster and they kill gorrila easily without losing stamina and if they dont lose stamina noo chances of imbalance girrafe is the only animal who has strongest kicking power one kick .....gorilla dead.. so if gorrila charges by side then what girrafe will see the charge... bro dont cry it is impossible

gorilla vs bear debate: this really only comes down to 1 strength.

Tigers are probably the top predator that could take on a gorilla 🦍. Especially the Siberian tiger or Bengal tiger 🐯🐅
How about that they don't like in the same continents.
The tiger can also end up dying from the injuries led by the silverback
If it is not a fight to death the tiger will be more likely to retreat especially from a dominant silverback which is always ready to fight till death actually gorillas are stronger than tiger's in physcial terms and have a higher bite force
Since tigers have longer canines then both have same bite effectivness also if the gorilla manages to slam the tiger to the ground it can deal the tiger with knockout blows so i think both can end up dying

They r not built to punch, humans are because we are good at throwing and that is the what allows us to punch well. Having huge arms won't help u throw a strong punch at all.
