    Its important to note that when monitors list their response times, that has nothing to do with their latency. Its more about motion blur/clarity.
    Response time is how quickly a pixel can shift from one color to another.
    Latency would be time difference between moving the mouse, and having the image update.
    Having longer response times leads to more blurry images when in motion, because the pixels do not change color instantly. Most gaming LCD panels have around 1ms response times, which is fast, but still results in noticeable blur on fast moving images. OLEDs have much better response times (usually around 0.02ms), which give them astounding motion clarity.
    Even high end gaming systems have about 20-40ms end to end system latency. (This is the time from mouse movement, to cursor moving on screen).

    • @dive_whale
      @dive_whale 7 днів тому +1

      even the fastest lcd panel average around 2.7ms response times when measured (rting's measurements asus 540hz PG248QP)
      most 240hz ips monitors sit around 5-10ms when using an overdrive profile without major overshoot(inverse ghosting).
      any lcd overdrive profile with around 1ms response times would have egregious overshoot(inverse ghosting) making it unplayable.

    As someone with the exact same monitor but far less skill, it's FREAKY playing osu! on this thing. There's just something so...idk, sharp(?) about everything that's moving. It really does feel like you're not quite playing what you're looking at. A bit of advice tho, these monitors are sensitive to ambient light, those nice blacks can actually raise to more of a purple or "lighter" black with just a little ambient light. Give the monitor a go in full gremlin mode with your lights off. Ofc that's not ideal for content creation but I'd like to know if you notice a difference in your play. Much love

    • @EneRec
      @EneRec 7 днів тому +3

      @@goblingaming3067 I can. The 0.03 ms is the latency response of the Monitor, not of the video being sent from the gpu to the monitor.
      In valorant at 260fps I get around 20ms latency, in osu is probably not as noticeable since you can run the game at 1300fps most of the time minimum

    • @atirta777
      @atirta777 7 днів тому

      @@goblingaming3067 The advertised response time is *always* false and marketing. You should always see reviews from Rtings or Monitors Unboxed for example. The actual response time of OLED is around 0.3ms or less and the absolute best IPS or TN monitors are around 2ms. Advertised 1ms could really be 10ms but anything below 6ms is good for an IPS, VA, or TN monitor.

    • @dive_whale

      most reviews actually measured this monitor to be around 0.2ms-0.3ms response times.
      STILL THIS IS SIGNIFICANTLY FARTHER AHEAD THAN ANY OTHER MONITOR TECH OUT THERE.
      most high end lcd displays when properly measured wont even come close to 4ms response times, yes 4ms. the 540hz asus is around 2.7ms response times according to rtings.

      It'll help for sure but this monitor is for so much more than just osu lmao. First you gotta make sure your hardware can even run this monitor (higher hz = more processing power needed). For eg in my old laptop I got like 0.8ms delay from the osu metric, but in my new 144hz laptop I can only get 1.2ms lowest (I get 800fps though so its obviously better haha).

    OLEDs are awesome not just because of the awesome response time but the true blacks bc there is no backlight. Every pixel is individually lit and the colors and blacks are S tier. What I am worried about while using OLED screens is burn in. It can happen if you use it for static content especially when it's white. Just imagine your monitor getting burn in with osu! ui lmao. That would've been crazy. osu420 would easily do that
