Hi . Thanks for your video, it's very interesting as I'm just starting out using leather to make books. I 'd like to line my leather journals with patterned paper instead leather or fabric. I have no problem gluing the paper on to the leather itself using book binding glue (it keeps nice and flat) but when I bend it to form the book (wrap around style) the paper creases and ruins it. Do you have any advice to prevent this from happening?
Hi Lola - I too use paper to line book journal leather and get a similar issue, I use double sided tape for mine so that I can set the fold and then use the bone folder to smooth down to minimise the issue. The other alternative is to deliberately cut the paper so that there is no paper over the spine of the book where the leather comes round.
Really helpful video - many thanks - only slight negative I have is that the audio and video are slightly out of sync which is a bit distracting
