I like how over half the racing games for the PSP were released in the console's first two years Also Asphalt Urban GT2 for PSP was released in 2007 not 2005
Great vid! Both Wipeout games, both Ridge Racer games and Sega Rally Revo are my personal faves. I also enjoy playing Gran Turismo every once in a while
Overall i would say Motorstorm was the best racing game for psp (my taste obviously), Midnight Club LA Remix and Test Drive Unlimited were also awesome and most ambitious, Asphalt 2 was really great arcade gem, but I had the most fun with F1 2009. F1 was just amazing with hours spent on training, and races on full time were just on another level.
I played the first 3 you mentioned and Wipeout but mostly Gran Turismo. Gran Turismo was clearly the best PSP game and checking it back I can see how amazing it still is. Absolutely incredible to do 50 times better than average on same game console like it's nothing.
@@hakanitogalatasaray5349 i'm a huge gt fan by far my favourite game franchise (especialy gt2, gt3 and gt5), but i'm not a fan of psp version. It's very impressive but they went for more realistic driving model than some of the titles before in the series while there was no option for analog gas/breaks due to psp limitation. Also lack of classic career and classic dealership were the worst offenders. My last gripes with it are poorest sense of speed, and choosing to pick less cars on a track instead of making less realistic visuals. But that's just my opinion, not saying it's a bad game or anything.
the psp is an awesome handheld , my mother had sent me one to honduras when i was younger, such an amazing piece of technology for its time , i played thousands of hours
You might be wondering why there's a lot of racing games on PSP, well it's because PSP released in era where racing games so popular, that also applies to consoles that were released in that era.
the early asphalt games were great, like a pretty good hybrid of burnout and need for speed. asphalt 8 and 9 on the other hand is pretty fun, but it gets boring rather quickly due to the physics lacking depth.
@@Victor_2000s yeah low budget games that were definitely better in the "PSP minis" category. They weren't good just barely the necessary copying other franchises like every single game Gameloft has created.
@@Germanskill205 These early games was not made with low budget, especially when had a lot of licensed cars. Copy consoles games doesn't was bad, because Gameloft wanted to bring a gaming experience that are missing on mobile.
@@Victor_2000s it's hard to understand what are you saying but: it's not difficult to acquire the license to use cars in videogames. You can clearly see in this video how the graphics, physics and mechanics of this game were extremely poor compared to other games even the ones that were older. These games are definitely low budget since like i previously said Gameloft (which was a little developer at the time) made a ton of copies of popular franchises and if every game they developed had even a normal amount of money put in it they would have gone bankrupt long ago. Quantity over quality. If any money was put into this game it was on the licensed cars.
PSP was a great device. I still have one of them. Most of the games are pretty much the same as their PS2 counterparts (Of course there's some graphical degradation, but it's still impressive)
Ford Racing off road was my childhood, but the fact that the rivals were aggressive and the graphics/ visuals and effects were mediocre wasn’t good. Yet when I was little, the graphics were mind blowing to me. I thought I was driving my moms Ford Explorer. Now it looks so 2002
ATV Offroad Fury was so good personally, as well as MC3 Dub and MCLA on the PSP too. NFS Carbon OTC had a weird story but I really wish it's explored more in the main series ngl, and it was so dark... Split/Second was a decent port of the original, shame that the PSP only had the full Docks track, I wish the main ports had it too with all power plays.
Favs: Ridge Racer PSP 2 GT PSP is ok but not as preferred. (I think TOCA 2&3 are probably better, maybe even NFS Shift but not really played Shift and not Toca2&3 on the go only 3 on console) WipEout Pulse WRC PSP was pretty good surprisingly. Split Second Velocity works well on the handheld. NFS Underground Rivals was surprisingly good, Ridge Racer tough at times but pretty alright. Outrun 2006 Coast to Coast is delightful, something I have to get used to with sharp turning in the campaign but for arcade racing on the go it's great. Not played yet/not in a while: Gripshift NFS Shift Dirt 2 (used to own and remember beating) MotoGP not really into compared to certain mods on the console ones never into the championships No interest in F1 games content Ford Street Racing is 'ok' not much more Otherwise tons more but forgetting one in particular was going to mention. Hate: Cine McRae 2005 I literally can't beat the first race and tried over and over it's worse than WRC PSP for time/ghost pickiness and not that great handling.
I played some of the racing games, however I cannot complete Race Driver 2006 on PPSSPP, because at the moment in career when I start race with Global GT1, the game freezes.
Juiced Eliminator looks a lot like the original Juiced, which I loved. I can't get Juiced to run on my PC, so maybe I should play Eliminator on PPSSPP?
What game that have customised decals and some misson you must drift without touch wall? I remember that game but dont know what name ..what i know that not nfs
Any chance you know that game where it was open-world, always night-time, you could have a crew (one of them being named Dylan), evading and getting caught by the police and having a bunch of quests to do to beat cars? I really liked that game. By chance you know its name?
NFS Carbon: Own The City? The game has a crew system where each one of them has a special ability that you can use in a race. As for the quests you have to do to beat cars i don't know. I mean you have to beat all the territory boss crews so you can access to him and beat him.

I remember going to my friends house and we would just play MC3: Dub all day due to how wacky and massive the game was for a PS2 game! I'll try to get my hands on another copy of it to play it for myself. And maybe get LA for my 360 too.
I like how over half the racing games for the PSP were released in the console's first two years
Also Asphalt Urban GT2 for PSP was released in 2007 not 2005
But the original game was released in 2005
@@not_kjb That's a different game which didn't get a PSP port
@@father042 it's the same game, first release was on n gage in 2005. Which is probably why it's in the 2005 part
@@not_kjb Urban GT 2 has more tracks and different cars
@@father042 of course it does... It's the sequel... Your point?
Juiced 2 for me.. 👌 pink slips...rivals....bets....hypercars
...livery editing...it was so ahead of it's time
Juiced 2 is easily one of my all time favourites
Midnight Club 3 will forever be iconic
PS 2 e PSP foram recheado de jogos!😜🇧🇷✌️🌟
Great vid! Both Wipeout games, both Ridge Racer games and Sega Rally Revo are my personal faves. I also enjoy playing Gran Turismo every once in a while
Midnight club on psp was awesome
25:00 Wow those graphics are sick !
25:20 the best graphic game on psp
Oh midlight club LA remix was my favorite... Good times
Look at those games. I'm gonna lose my mind all of my childhood combined in 4 years. We had amazing racing series back in the day.
amazing video. appreciate the time stamps ☺️
3:55 that track is Greenpeak Highlands, I still play that game to this day.
Also the car is the Age Prophetie
Great driving, great selection, great graphics. Loved!
Keep up the great work! Would love to see you do every PS2 racing game in one video :)
Thanks. One day will definitely make one 😉
Or PSOne also
-Ridge racer 2
-Wipeout Pulse
-Motorstorm Arctic Edge
-Gran Turismo
-Cars 2
Thanks I was searching for full auto 2 😔 brings back memories
NFS: Carbon - Own The City was definitely SO underrated. Spent thousands of hours on that game
Bro said thousands
@@zdendas13 I literally have more than 2000 guaranteed🗿
@@g_webb21 Jit trippin'
Easily the best PSP NFS port.
the psp is an awesome handheld , my mother had sent me one to honduras when i was younger, such an amazing piece of technology for its time , i played thousands of hours
Use to play ridge Racer to death. Loved that game!
Me too.
I started it this week again
You might be wondering why there's a lot of racing games on PSP, well it's because PSP released in era where racing games so popular, that also applies to consoles that were released in that era.
Every console gen had a lot of racing games.
my man playing 71 different psp games
UA-cam : nah, that's the nfs most wanted 12
Yeah, dunno why YT decided to put MW (2012). Thanks for noticing that
Wait, the Asphalt series was on the PSP? That seems kind of sad nowadays because people only think of the Asphalt series as just 8 and 9.
the early asphalt games were great, like a pretty good hybrid of burnout and need for speed. asphalt 8 and 9 on the other hand is pretty fun, but it gets boring rather quickly due to the physics lacking depth.
@@tropixx_xlr1549 Early Asphalt games are boring too, especially Urban GT 1 and 2 with repetitive tracks in a long career mode.
So much nostalgia thank you ❤️
Let's not forget M.A.C.H please, futuristic airplane racing and aerial battle
1:55 ok COOL but you're missing DUB Edition's 15 FPS cap
5:16 lmao Best Burger
Dat collin mcrae rally graphic was so nice
Burnout Legends is one of my favourite games on the system
Quite sad that there was no music, it really elevates the whole experience. Also, didn't know that split second was available on psp
Seeing "name JEF" in the GTI game made me burst out laughing
PSP was a great device. I still have one of them. Most of the games are pretty much the same as their PS2 counterparts (Of course there's some graphical degradation, but it's still impressive)
Like all, played all also ... but this ones got me:
Sega Rally
GripShift
Motorstorm Artic edge
Outrun 2006
Flatout
Split Second
What's funny is they never looked this good on the PSP
And to me they did!😁
Absolutely love Colin McRae Rally
The PSP could still be relevant today as much as a Nintendo Switch ngl, home console quality games on the go
My racing PSP games is Hot Wheels Ultimate Racing and Gran Turismo PSP
It was insane how the put midnight club 3 on the psp.
@udokee7409L.A.? More like San Diego.
The racing games era.
Funny how I have most of them,
not that I like cars or anything!
Woah, is that Street Stage with partial English? Where do you get that?
Ford Racing off road was my childhood, but the fact that the rivals were aggressive and the graphics/ visuals and effects were mediocre wasn’t good. Yet when I was little, the graphics were mind blowing to me. I thought I was driving my moms Ford Explorer. Now it looks so 2002
hot import nights and wipeout pulse hits so hard
Nothing comes close to NFSMW 5.1.0 just my childhood
A lot of the games from the list are better than the MW 5-1-0.
Ridge Racers is a so much satisfying driving experience ❤️
Os anos 2000 foram recheado de jogos!😜🇧🇷✌️🌟
I own 41 PSP games to this day.
Ridge Racer 2, Wipeout Pulse and Motorstorm Arctic Edge are my top 3.
The best ones on this list tbh are two Wipeout titles. Pure and Pulse. I played Pure soooo much. And then the music is great on both.
Nice video thx!
Your emu makes them look way nicer , than on a real console
8:16 Ride or Die in Ps2 renamed as Street riders in PSP? Never knew that, played the shit out of that game years back
Favs:
Ridge Racer PSP 2
GT PSP is ok but not as preferred. (I think TOCA 2&3 are probably better, maybe even NFS Shift but not really played Shift and not Toca2&3 on the go only 3 on console)
WipEout Pulse
WRC PSP was pretty good surprisingly.
Not played yet/not in a while:
Gripshift
NFS Shift
Dirt 2 (used to own and remember beating)
MotoGP not really into compared to certain mods on the console ones never into the championships
No interest in F1 games content
Ford Street Racing is 'ok' not much more
Otherwise tons more but forgetting one in particular was going to mention.
Hate:
Cine McRae 2005 I literally can't beat the first race and tried over and over it's worse than WRC PSP for time/ghost pickiness and not that great handling.
I played some of the racing games, however I cannot complete Race Driver 2006 on PPSSPP, because at the moment in career when I start race with Global GT1, the game freezes.
midnight club 3 still amazes me
LA Rush on the psp was so nice.
SBK-07 was very favorite of mine❤️
The Midnight Club peeps where yall 👀
Why have PROTON logo at race driver 2006?
Good job. Thank you.
Nice info and i want playing this game
I think gran turizmo is the best. All tho it's a bit rare now. I found mine but it was 3x as expensive as others
But it was one of the top selling games of the PSP. There's a ton of copies out there.
Bonus:
- Wangan midnight portable
Dam I wonder how long did it take to download all those roms
I have never seen that DT Carnage game, interesting
Juiced Eliminator looks a lot like the original Juiced, which I loved. I can't get Juiced to run on my PC, so maybe I should play Eliminator on PPSSPP?
Why you can't run the game on PC?
What game that have customised decals and some misson you must drift without touch wall? I remember that game but dont know what name ..what i know that not nfs
Juiced? 🤔
@@JEF1 i dont know maybe but its look same
sounds like Juiced 2
My childhood memory midnight club 😁
Race driver 2006 is basically the same game as ToCa race driver 2.
Or is it like ToCa race driver 3 but with UI from 2?
It's says that it's an expanded version of Toca Race Driver 2. And yet, it's considered as a full new game
@@jurekgadzinowski2895 race driver 2006 to inna nazwa ToCa Race Driver 3. Jest ona po prostu przystosowana do PSP.

Any chance you know that game where it was open-world, always night-time, you could have a crew (one of them being named Dylan), evading and getting caught by the police and having a bunch of quests to do to beat cars? I really liked that game. By chance you know its name?
Sounds like NFS Most Wanted to me
@@dankmemesmeltexistentialdr2769 Most Wanted doesn't set in night time.
Probably its Midnight Club Los Angeles Remix.
NFS Carbon: Own The City?
The game has a crew system where each one of them has a special ability that you can use in a race.
As for the quests you have to do to beat cars i don't know. I mean you have to beat all the territory boss crews so you can access to him and beat him.
@@Germanskill205 This one, thanks
Get bboy. It's also on ps2, but damn, I loved that game.
Pls play all star wars and horror game games of PSP,PSVITA, Nintendo DS and Nintendo 3DS
What happened to need for speed most wanted (2012)?
NFS Most Wanted 2012 was never released for PSP.
That's for the Vita, slick.
I had a lot of these games
gran turismo and dirt 2 were great games
