You are a star. This finally solved all my battery charging issues. Well done Raz. I tried other videos but this one solved. Luckily i didn’t blow fuses. It only charged to 83% then went green.
Thanks Raz for your clarification, why not buy a 42.2 volt and 3 A charger? wil this lower the capacity? the cals are 3,6 volt (10 serie) and 4 parallel.... each cell has a capacity of 3500mah so you cannot fill them? am i right?
the risk appears because the cells are not ballanced anymore (during years and useage)
what is your expeariance when the batteries are getting worse? how many loads? is it possible to see how many loads your battery has?
sorry for the questions but your movies inspire me ;)
tnx!
Good morning its working no loading til plusminus 85 % and sometimes code 21 but I also loading whit power bank than its going to 100 % is that no problem mvg Ko
Thanks very much Raz! I'm in the US (Minnesota). I started having problems with my S3 right at the time Vanmoof filed for bankruptcy. My wife's X3 works fine. I just did the fix on both of the chargers.
I'm pretty sure the error on the S3 at the time was E4, but since then no error messages show and it wouldn't respond at all. I was not able to put any charge on it or get anything on the display until I recently found a low voltage adapter that seemed to work. The charge symbol showed on the digital display, but it doesn't seem to be adding any charge. Now the digital display only shows half the symbols - the right side of the display is blank. You think I need a new module? I haven't removed the battery yet to see if the fuse is blown. Thanks for any input/ideas you may have.
Hi again Raz. I removed the battery, did the reset you described in another video.
I don't have the equipment or know how to test the battery. I visually inspected everything and the fuse and the other components around look fine with no discoloration or cracks, etc. There was no change after I reinstalled the battery.
Today the digital display is not working at all.
Di you have any contacts in the US Midwestern states that might be able to work on my S3?
Thanks
Hi I have a question? My cartridge is dead totaly, I charged the battery 3.7 v and nothing changed. In the battery is 10kohm ntc thermistor. The resistance was 9 kohm in the temperature about 25 degrees. Do you think it can be problem of thermistor?
Thanks for the video. I have "Skull icon briefly flashing now and then. Power brick keeps showing green light". If I low the voltage will it fix this problem? Thanks
@@MikeThay-y4j it might work if the battery is dead .... You might need to charge it manually a bit before...
Thanks for your videos! They're great. Do you recommend doing this for all Vanmoof S3 bikes?
Any shot there is a third party charger I could by that already has this set up?
@@gw5827 all biked ... Chargers deliver more amps that the bike is rated
They go hard on the plugs ... And go hard on the charge mosfets and all components are made for 4 amp charge rate....
@@Razspareparts Would you be willing to sell me a charger that you've done this to.
I trust your wiring skills than mine. Could be a good business too...
@@gw5827 I don't have extra chargers but if you're from UK just post it to me in a box I'll do it for you ...
Regards
Is that also possible with the go solid charger?
Hey, I've got another question for you. I can hear something clicking or whirring in the smart cartridge. Would you recommend resetting the battery or is there a different better approach? Thanks!
Did they fix this issue with the new chargers for the S5 and A5?
Can you make a video about a damaged cable problem?
@@markpronk26 I need to have a damaged cable and I will 😂
Haha oke maybe i have a socket problem and send it to you? In located in The Netherlands. And you?
@@markpronk26 lol .... I don't think you have a socket problem... Those cables are very high quality...why you think that? ....what errors you have ?
So if I lower the voltage to the minimum, does that mean it will only charge up until 85%? I didn’t get that statement right with the percentages. Nevertheless thank you very much for your help
@@Carlos-gm3zn it will change normally to 75% with 4 amp .. then gradually will lower amps ...will still charge to 100% but Very slow ... Don't recommend to go to 100% ...
90% still is plenty of juice 🧃
Mine only went to 83% then charger turned green. Should i continue to charge it ! Even when green. @Razspareparts
hey there. so we turn the dial to max to fix the issue? Or to Min
@@greyes11 let's make it clear clockwise all the way 😊
@@Razspareparts got it. thanks dude!!!!
Have you encountered such a thing that when you replace the same fuse, it immediately blows out?, I have already burned 3.. and determined that the small transistor (340n08) constantly supplies voltage to the central contact of the fuse
@@technolive8229 your over voltage protection is gone all that small circuit where the transistor is I called over voltage circuit.... That circuit is made to burn the fuse for safety ...
@@Razsparepartsand how can I fix this now? and will it work normally without this transistor? I unsoldered it and get error 17
@@technolive8229 replace it , I will not work without it check the marks and order one identical
@@Razspareparts ok I did that a couple of days ago, I’m waiting for it to arrive
I replaced it and now the fuse does not blow. But now error 19 even though it is charging normally. Maybe there is some other way to fix this? for example, connect a computer to a battery?@@Razspareparts
I followed your instructions and reduced the performance of the charger. The battery is also only charged to 80-85%. But now I get Error 21 displayed. Is that problematic?
@@jacbauer1171 yes I realised that ...but it goes away... Will not do that only when you disconnect the charger and you trying to connect again
@@jacbauer1171 it gets to 100% if let it go will slowly rise once you disconnect and try to connect again will show error 21 ...but goes away once you start thr bike.... Not a issue
Ah I was just going to ask the same question. Thanks for making these videos my man. Made the adjustment on my S3 charger today and am hoping to install the VanBood 3D printed shifter soon. (Eshifter is error 44).
I make 3 chargers already see wat happens😀
I'm telling you ... Will not blow fuses anymore 😅
Lol
Share with your fellow riders ... don't be a fuse blower 😂😂
