I learned how to build red clay and stick homes. Also I learned to weave leaves to make a roof with red clay as insolation. I have no words to describe what I am feeling right now. We have resources at our disposal and we waste them recklessly and here they are creating something so beautiful without much wastage. And all of it is either recyclable or disintegrates naturally. I wish, the larger population learns to appreciate nature and its bounty like the indigenous people do.
I like this. No wasted effort while they're building. I was especially curious about their water-shedding method. I never thought to use bamboo like a clay tile roof... Very clever. I wonder if it would hold up during a monsoon or if there'd be leaking inside... It seems like it'd be fine for a light rain. I'm also curious as to how long a building like this might last...
I was thinking the same thing. It looks like it would shed water better if the bamboo ran the other direction on the roof so that any water would flow down with the slope of the roof

I don’t understand why bamboo is not used in North America. It’s very light, incredibly strong and sustainable. I love how they built the floor around the legs of the beds and furniture. I will not survive the Apocalypse. I don’t think a Canadian Tire tent is going to cut it!
I think it has to do with costs, you can't plant commercially outside tropical regions. And treatment costs, structural risks, ... It's viable but not cheap

I don’t understand why bamboo is not used in North America. It’s very light, incredibly strong and sustainable. I love how they built the floor around the legs of the beds and furniture. I will not survive the Apocalypse. I don’t think a Canadian Tire tent is going to cut it!
