For those confused: From what I could gather, MIDNATT is BigHit artist Lee Hyun's 'alter ego' (or basically a rebrand). MIDNATT is also an AI project, that's for sure, but Lee Hyun for real sang the Korean track. The AI part is used to clone his voice and adjust pronunciations, so that the song can be sung in other languages. With Lee Hyun's blessing, MIDNATT is a go. If you like MIDNATT but you're against AI, I suggest listening to the Korean version only. Lee Hyun has a beautiful voice and if you'd like, do check out his other songs (with HOMME, 8Eight and as a solo artist). For starters, listen to 'You Are Here' from the BTS World OST! That is the AI. I really would love to hear his voice singing in English and all the other languages in his own voice without AI, I think when people sing in other languages not native to them it's lovely even if the pronunciation is not perfect.

True, it's a brilliant idea. Maybe in the future, English songs can also have this type of dubbing, enabling all music to be interconnected, and eliminating the dominance of one language over another. This way, language barriers would no longer hinder the connection and appreciation of music across cultures.

Not rly sure but apparently for this project they used rly advances tech that can change his voice so he can sound older, younger, like a different gender or like a native speaker of different languages. The girl voice is actually him too

You misunderstood the article. They used Lee Hyun's voice as dataset to mix with a native-speaking narrator. Look up Bruno Mars' AI Hype Boy cover to understand this concept. Bruno Mars clearly cannot sing Korean that fluently but his voice data mixed with a Korean-speaking singer's cover to make it seem that he can.

I’ve never listened to Lee Hyun before but I love how he’s branching out and spreading his artistic wings. I also think this is the perfect use of ai technology. With artists taking control of it and using it for themselves and not random people stealing an artist’s look and voice for their own benefit.

And he is the only soloist in Bighit Entertainment who debuted in 2007 and former member of co-ed vocal trio group 8Eight. They disbanded in 2014 as their contract ended and become a soloist in Bighit. He is basically a 2nd gen singer. He is specialised in Ballad and R&B. This is the first time he is trying something new, something new gen.
A masterpiece of technique and effects really? Half of the MV is done with AI art. It's a disrespectful for people whose job it is. Hybe is not a company that can't afford paying artists, but still they do that. I don't mind the AI for multi-language, it's well thought, but it's not acceptable for the video.

@@sk8032 for some reason i can't find my initial reply here. maybe cause i added a link but there was an article about it. it explains that midnatt is leehyun's alter ego and he sang all 6 versions of the song. Korean version is just him singing while other versions in different languages, he directly sang it first and the AI is used to help correct the pronunciations similar to that of a native speaker of said language. They also used the AI to modify his voice to that of a girl's voice present in the song while maintaining his singing style.

This is a really cool use of AI. I love that they are using a real artist and using AI for help with pronunciation and to add different dimensions to the song, like the female version of Lee Hyun’s voice, instead of just making a virtual idol. Using AI to help connect to more people is so cool

everyone, you need to learn to look at things with an open mind and not simply cancel things just because. AI and technology is used everywhere and it will be continue to be advanced and used more in future for various purposes. The technology is not the problem but how people uses it. Here, it is used to enhance / make the MV and to correct MIDNATT’s pronunciation (and for the female voice, which is cool. FYI AI voice has existed for a long time eg in japan, think Miku). Your issue here and hate for AI stems from concerns of copying and replacement of real artists’ work, which neither of it can be found here. You misunderstood the article. They used Lee Hyun's voice as dataset to mix with a native-speaking narrator. Look up Bruno Mars' AI Hype Boy cover to understand this concept. Bruno Mars clearly cannot sing Korean that fluently but his voice data mixed with a Korean-speaking singer's cover to make it seem that he can.

But this is not a debut album. This is just the alter ego of Lee Hyun (39yrs old) (Midnatt).Just like Suga's alter ego AgustD. And he is the only soloist in Bighit Entertainment who debuted in 2007 and former member of co-ed vocal trio group 8Eight. They disbanded in 2014 as their contract ended and become a soloist in Bighit. He is basically a 2nd gen singer. He is specialised in Ballad and R&B.
This is the first time he is trying something new, something new gen.
A masterpiece of technique and effects really? Half of the MV is done with AI art. It's a disrespectful for people whose job it is. Hybe is not a company that can't afford paying artists, but still they do that. I don't mind the AI for multi-language, it's well thought, but it's not acceptable for the video.

Korean version is just him singing while other versions in different languages, he directly sang it first and the AI is used to help correct the pronunciations similar to that of a native speaker of said language. They also used the AI to modify his voice to that of a girl's voice present in the song while maintaining his singing style.
