Historically, NURBS modeling was always used in product design/cad. Initially Maya focused heavily on NURBS, this is why many tools still generate NURBS surfaces (extrusion of curves for example). Back in 2004 or so NURBS in Maya were the biggest deal, entire characters were modeled with NURBS patches.
Nick, What a great concept! But I hope we don't forget the one platform that young artists use most: the IPAD! I'm not a programmer. Could someone please create a build for my son's iPad Pro? He just got one for Christmas for his budding artistic skills but yet have to see any good 3D CAD modeling packages. What a godsend your product is and how timely! Thanks.
Yeah damn! this is the way Cinema 4D, 3DsMax, Maya and Blender should go! Why even bother with polygons when your programm can do that for you. And also you become much more fexible with things like this.
Reminds me of MoI but much better UI!!! I hope they charge for it and develop it properly. Too many people expect free software which gets dropped or slow updates.
Anyone know how to find the materials tab? I know that right clicking on the render button will give a few options but I seen in a recent video someone was accessing different colors and what not. This will save me a ton of time from having to take it into gimp and inkscape.
What, do I need a Mac to run this or something? Downloaded it to my Windows PC and have no clue how to even launch it? There is nothing on the Github that helps figure this out either and cant find any tutorials that start with how to launch the program!
FIrst off, thank you for covering this application, it went completely under the radar for me. Second, this looks like it's based on Blender somehow. The operation, interface and everything looks familiar to Blender with a few addons but I don't wish to detract from the developer's work, regardless of what's the foundation, it still seems very friendly to use and will 100% give it a go, as a Blender user.
CAD (Computer Aided Design) is just a term/acronym for software used in manufacturing and design. Most of these software packages use NURBS to create the models.
I'm not an expert but I'd say those terms have overlap :P Computer-aided design uses NURBS and even if you're talking about .cad-files, they both have lines and such. So it's no wonder they can get confusing xD
i saw it test it and blender 3.2 nurbs Mesh style feels old...really old, evenl the new Cad add on is boring..Nurbs modeling dream....specially when it comes to design reall things maybe for printing ...thx

Supposedly, Jar Jar Binks model wasn't working very well with nurbs back then which started subdivision taking over
@@HyenaBlank Blame on him!
@@HyenaBlank Meesa no more NURBS

Finally... a great explanation of the basics!
I want to pay this developer!!
The best tutorial channel, I'm almost confused about learning Plasticity, because it's new....but you explain very well
Very nice app! I hope it will obtain parametric features and (maybe) will replace over-priced SW and etc.!
beautiful, curious as to the differences with MoI 3D. Keep up with the great work, looking forward to using it!
Same question
Looks promising, gonna keep an eye on it!
I was very interested to see what the polygon exporter is like.... What does it look like when it gets to blender after being exported as an obj?
Really cool tool. Multiple export formats are great when jumping between softwares.
Its like Blender Lite, very cool!
but for cad but still should be given a chance
almost perfect for 3d artist, quick concepts
Clear and helpful tutorial. Thanks
Glad it was helpful!

Totally agree
Great app. There is a way to add image plane for see sketching or photos? Thanks I will buy it.
this is what McNeel was not able to implement in Rhinoceros for about 25 years…
U r just amazing, can u pls make tutorial for scissors
Hope it has import/export support for UE5...??
I'm thinking Spaceclaim here! or designspark mechanical for the free downscaled version
It easy 👌 to use ❣❣thanks for u and developers

how to add image
Remind me of Eovia Hexagon which sadly stop developed after bought by Daz3d. I hope the final version will coming with stability

...Fantastic bro!

@askNK pronounces "knobs" but it's actually "nurbs".
is this a Blender add on/plugin or stand alone?
Awesome, thanks

It seems more like adobe with all those magic magnet snapping and handle widgets and this is desirable.
Hi I'll like to know if there's any Mac version, Thank you, it looks very interesting, I remember back in the days using NURBS on Strata Design 3D
Mac version?
You have to compile yourself

It would be more interesting if it was blender addon !!!!
how to export this model to another 3d program

I am closing this tutorial down. The moment you said middle mouse button. I have a mac. Screw this.
Your loss. Get a real computer.
Saw this on Arrimus3d. He said to keep in mind it's early early beta, so don't expect a bug free experience.
They need CAD experts for feedback.
