Misty mountain jaunts might not look as spectacular on video, but I've always loved the sense of being "lost" in the swirling envelope of fogs that sometimes break to reveal breathtaking scenery

I have a GMC canyon, my house is 30 square feet plus backseat. Kayak on the roof, backpack in backseat, fishing gear wherever I can find room. Ping my dog also has some space. We have traveled almost 5 years. Love the life style.

Alaska is on the planning stage. Was there 4 years ago. But didn’t allow myself enough time. Next trip I will take all spring and summer. I built a house on my truck, and live in it.

There is never enough time! Do you have a full-size truck to live out of? I'm always impressed by those who full-time in a vehicle. I enjoyed spending a few months in mine, but haven't spent longer than that.

Thank you. Am local Alaska resident and always interested to see and hear what visitors recommend.

Do you tend to agree with what visitors recommend, or are there less popular places that visitors don't know about that are your favorites?

@@WanderwithKate Visitors tend to follow the mainstream while there are so many subtle places that a local can show you. Secret places that few know about. For instance... Just came off a Phillips 26Glacier cruise via Whittier AK. WOW...just wow.

Awesome views. Great reviews you gave a great informative description of each trail. Bird Ridge sounds like a challenge but worth it for the views. I did Gross Morn Mountain the second highest point in Newfoundland Couple of years ago , it was my biggest challenge but the views were awesome, unfortunately i wasn't UA-caming then. It wasn't dog friendly either 😢.

One of the UA-cam travel channels I watch just visited Newfoundland and I heard about Gros Morn Mountain for the first time. It looks beautiful! What a unique area of the world. Sad about that hike not being dog friendly, but it still looks worth leaving the dog behind to be able to enjoy that hike. It looks like Tucker is lucky enough to join you on most of your adventures!

@@WanderwithKate Oh yeah Tucker is usually not fart away from my outings LOL. He stayed at home that trip and I went with my son, definitely a hike worth doing if you're ever in the neighborhood.
