I thought you only got 20 seconds total to record a loop, I mean 20 seconds in total but you were like much longer in my opinion 🎹😲😲 Very nice, especially the organ stuff which I know nothing about 😞
Thanks! (Again) I love it. I play for various ensembles and artists in different genres, and as a result have options, depending on what's needed, but the VR ticks most boxes. The VR09 is not a tweakable synth, and I would say its strongest points are the drawbar organs and Electric pianos. Pianos are 'okay' but it is very usable all-round though, and portable. The organs cut through nicely on stage, without any extra help from fx units. Leslie effect is good. Not as good as the real thing, but better than many. Good value if you pick one up secondhand for a reasonable price. When I bought mine, it was being dumped at a ridiculous half-price special, as the product was not selling well locally. Now, of course, everybody wants one.....
What if u want to have different progressions to incorporate into the song, not just repeating the same one. Like one for verse and one for chorus u can build on the fly.
Unfortunately, the definition of a 'looper' is about creating 2,4,8 bar patterns, which then 'loop' (repeat). Maybe, if you can make a pattern that incorporates a verse and a chorus, you could theoretically do this, but that's not what looper functions are designed to do, and I would find that very cumbersome. That's what differentiates loopers from sequencers, so I would either use a DAW to create arrangements with different progressions, or use a keyboard 'workstation' with a built in sequencer. Forgive me if I am overstating the obvious. The VR09 does not have a built in sequencer.
@@TonyDrake1960 I think I can do separate loops all with separate progressions with a stand alone loop station like this demo shows. I am sure it allows you to have separate loop tracks u can build even on the fly as with one loop. ua-cam.com/video/EvLzaVoIHIk/v-deo.htmlsi=McX_OOi7wEjxPpyd
Very nice, Tony! I've always loved the Roland sound too... Had an Alpha-Juno 2, then a D50 back in my gigging days. Have you had a play with the Jupiter-X at all?
@@TonyDrake1960 oh stunning. I like the idea of the portability of the XM to play on the sofa, then midi it up to a full board for live. Hope to see you and Andrew when the season starts. All the best!
@@garyking4032 Andrew will be here in October and November, so it would be nice to see you. I was actually gifted my Jupiter X by an anonymous benefactor! (See my video to that effect on this channel - "Roland Jupiter X - a dream comes true") I am pleased I have the full size version, as I needed a new main controller in my studio to replace my ageing JD800. However, yeah, if you don't need 61 full size keys, and are looking for a machine for the sofa, the XM is a fantastic option. Cheers!
🎉👍🔥
don't look any further dennis edwards 🕺🕺

Great little jam/groove ya got goin there. VR-09 sounds are pretty nice to.👍
Thank you, Duncan!
This is a rather excellent demo. Love it. I'm thinking of getting one of these units here in 2024. What do you reckon?
Thanks! (Again)

HI Gary! Yes! I own a Jupiter X! It's incredible. Best sounding synth ever!
