Oh yeah I've got "staple scars". I finally started using pliers to pull those bad boys out before they get the chance to bite.
Need additional law to protect us. Maybe stickers, tags or labels warning that staples are sharp and may cause injury or led to infections if not treated. Yes I feel better already.

Nothing like opening up a new guitar. Almost feels like Christmas as a kid.
Budget guitars have become a LOT better for sure. Finish, set up & playability are usually very surprising for the money, can't wait to see what they're like.

The PRS SE that you already had, the PX single-cut sunburst, reminds me of when I was a teenager back in the late 70s and bought an Aria Pro II. It looks almost identical. It was one of those guitars that was so much better than anything I ever had before, but had absolutely no character. It was like going out with a stunning girl to find she had no conversation and nothing going on in her head. Like you, PRS leaves me cold, but it might be interesting. Bonners in Eastbourne should be ashamed - not a good look. The blue sparkle T-style HB looks amazingly pretty - the prettiest by far.
I'm all in for the t-style reviews especially. Excited!

This is the only channel where I'll watch a 30+ min video of guitars I have zero interest in. :) Strike that, I am looking forward to a deep dive into the Maybach SG. I share your opinions on PRS, but from a different perspective... in the late '80's early 90's before there was an SE line and before they referred to their US made guitars as "core", I had a stable of them. Ten tops, Artist tops, the cream of the crop. I was fed up with Norlin era Gibsons and was never a big Fender guy, so after my 80's super strat addiction started to wane I was hungry for something new, so when PRS came along I was in heaven... until I wasn't. Over time I realized I was more infatuated with their looks than the way they played and sounded. Once Gibson started getting their act together again in the late 80's and I dabbled again, I knew my PRS were just missing something. By the mid 90's I sold every one of them and never looked back.
I have been saving this one for just the right time, and here we are! Getting stuck in 🍻
The HB and Antiquity look the best visually of the Tele clones. I’ve wanted a Maybach for a long time, but I’d have to mail order them from Europe while the local shop sells Gibson and Fender…there have been a lot there to check out.

Nowadays it's a bonus to have a case for a guitar. It's a quiet guitar to have cases . You can play guitar anyway to all your bands practicing. Major bonus.

The PRS SE guitars are exceptional for the price, really they're all guitar I'd ever need. I've got two of them, and they're both really excellent instruments. They combine some of the best features of a Strat and a Les Paul. Don't be down on them because they're a bit flash, they're top notch music makers and they play, sound, and, yes, look great.

I bought a Fazley solid top acoustic for 70 Euros (B stock- The box was damaged). Neck is fine and it stays in tune. I just added new bridge pins.
Perfect for sofa noodling and grandson proof.

Colin, the PRS SE DGT, is probably the best guitar, on the market, for under a grand! Seriously top quality instrument…hopefully you’ll dig it!
Being an old timer in my 70’s and very much a traditionalist, it took me a long time to accept PRS. I have come to believe that the numerous SE variants are among the best bang for your buck in the industry. I agree that beginner guitars today are far superior to the rubbish that was available when I was coming up. I still can’t come to grips with T style guitars that are not string through body, or some of the goofy looking headstocks. Fortunately there is something for everyone.

Totally agree with you regarding PRS. Too flashy, too cocky for me. That one in a solid gold colour is lovely though.
I have the same TE62 but in red. It’s very very good.
Have to say the best of the lot, Colin, was the reveal on the TV channel. Had definite Gretsch vibes about it. Of the line up on UA-cam, the four Teles will be very interesting as I've got mates with kids who keep asking me about entry-level instruments. Obviously the casualty rate on new guitar players is quite high, and the parents don't want to invest too much if the kid gets bored or doesn't have the enthusiasm to gain a few calluses and work through those first few frustrating months. My advice is not to spend too much but spend enough to get a solid instrument that a luthier can work with in terms of set up. The PRS sounds like a well made instrument just from hearing the click of the pup selector switch. Will watch the film review but I'm afraid nothing would ever convince me to buy one. Great to see you back.

To answer your question if Bax is from the Uk or another European country, Bax music is a Dutch online music retailer with also 4 physical shops in the Netherlands and 2 in Belgium and web stores in the Netherlands Belgium the UK France Spain Italy and Sweden. Their goal is to open a web shop in every european country but they rather do it slow and steady with sustainable growth then by storming the market. Currently their Amsterdam store is closed because they are moving to another location going from a 900 square meter store to 2400 square meter store. their homebrand Fazley does not only make guitars but all kinds of instruments and equipment, recently they released a series of afforable pedals, i think it is 26 different ones.

Great stuff. That is what you call a guitar horde! The DGT looks nice. I'm also pretty much a a traditionalist but for those looking for quality at a reasonable price it's hard to see past PRS. From my experience of them, their QA is pretty good. Looking forward to the review, it might push me over the purchasing edge!.
Hi Colin I bought my 1st Harley Benton last month A Te-62 DB in Lake Placid Blue,same as your box number 1,they are good guitar for price,mine had a few issues but needed a bit of filing ,neck pickup great,but bridge one sounded rough,I wasn't gonna invest a lot in a guitar that you couldn't sell on without making a loss,so put a cheap pickup at bridge,a compensated brass brudge& some basi lock tuners as the stock ones were very stiff,bingo a decent little guitar for under 200 euro looking forward to your review Colin,thanks again for all the videos
I remember the small PMT shop in London Rd, Southend, then when they moved to the bigger shop in Queens Rd. I haven't lived in Southend for years (Honky Tonk was still open when I moved away) but my wife is from there, so we still visit and I saw the Queens Rd store was shut down last time which is a shame.

Colin, I think you're going to love the PRS. I love mine I bought it in 2012 it is a 2012 w/trem SE Blue Whale. It plays & sound incredible! I can't believe you don't like that LP looking flame PRS, I think it's a beauty! However I do like flames, quilts, etc. I like some solids, with them more GoldTops than just a color unless it's white or ebony. I hope to see you do the PRS 1st, (the trem bar is probably in a pocket of the case, & YES they ALL come with those nice bags) Cheers!
Seeing the model number on the box for guitar #1 kinda gave it away, even for those that aren't too knowledgeable with the brand, but that is a lovely colour, didn't expect that from the price range they tend to go for.
Guitar #2 looks very earthy, a good Ying Yang compared to #1 being all fancy.
Guitar #3 is one of those brands I'd happily recommend, but wouldn't choose to play myself. Their S style model is what I think is a great recording studio loaner (trying really hard not to reveal any names here).
I think guitar #4 is suffering from too much light exposure, but kinda the colour I like for that shape. First time I've heard of the brand though.
I'm not so sure about the colour on guitar #5, some more saturation in the colour and maybe a light coat of clear would've done it wonders.
Guitar #6 is screaming for a crazy paint job in my opinion
We were looking at the antiquity rosewood style Tele for my niece.
I was very impressed with it, I'd of had it for myself, but already had a Tele that I use
I like the PRS, excellent guitars but I'd never buy one for myself, my niece has one and it plays like butter...the Kramer reminds me of my first guitar, bought in 1985.That bound Tele is lovely. Thanks from New Zealand.

4:40 HB is quite straightforward in their model names (so here I already knew what was in the box: TE = T-type, 62 = 1962 specs, LPB = Lake Placid Blue. I had no clue about the DB, but I guess that stands for Double Binding. They only went wrong abbreviating their single cut color Paradise Amber Flame PAF, for that makes connoisseurs' hearts beat faster for other reasons.
That DGT SE is PRS SEs guitar of the year followed by the 594. I’ve got the 594 double cut but really wanted the DGT (sold out too quick here). Dave Grissom played his two SEs along side his USA DGTs on 5 Watt World and the tone was soooo close!

The Kramer is an awesome guitar. It's my cheapest guitar by a long way but also a favourite, just be patient setting up the Floyd Rose and you'll have a lot of fun with it!

I’m with you on the PRS wagon, not the guitar for me. I’ve tried with a tremonti model had to trade it for a Gibson LP, and again I tried with a Santana model, I actually still have that one but might not keep it. On the fence with it. But ya I’m not a fan of PRS guitars. Nice haul of axes. I really enjoyed it. 🎸🤓👍🙏🌎☮️🥓

I bought an Artist TC59 maple telecaster. The build quality for a cheap guitar was amazing. Knocked the socks off the USA Strat I used to have.
Try an Aria Pro2 Jet1 or Jet2 w p90s. Beautiful small c neck w nice med frets and a 9.5 radius. The kicker is the 24.75" scale length w a strat type trem that has a chance of staying in tune vs the Fender short scale Mustangs jags n jazzmasters. Ive put Planet Waves lockers and a Wilkinson Gotoh VSVG vintage trem w bent steel saddles that lock down! OMG for $400 all in its my fav now laying down clean loops w neck single then going to bridge bucker for leads. And its so slinky w 09-42 strings on the short 24.75 Gibson scale! Blues bends all day w small frets for chording comfort.
I felt the same about PRS until I bought one. Now I own 4 different models of them and the are indeed a cut above the rest.
The Antiquity looked rather nice.😊
