Measurement should be from nose tip to ear lobe to xiphoid process of sternum I guess.

One thing I think is not correct, not this much air should be pushed while checking the placement using stethoscope. It should be hardly 1 ml of air pushing very quick and then you will hear a sound of like "putt".
