guys there is no fake one or genuine, actually it is the same, one is branded by SKY RC and sold , other one is not branded thats all, branded one is just a price up
Thankyou so much for your video I'm about to buy one of these tomorrow and now I no what to look for I was paying $109 for it from Jaycar electronics but now I'm going to hobby king thankyou again mate I am great full
@@_Area-51 hes exaggerating look at @John Doe s comment and replies. He probably works for them (cause he says "we" as hes referring to SKYRC") and it is an exaggeration. I bought a fake one off Amazon that has all the good stuff the thicker wires the voltage meter reads higher voltage so much more higher that it's way off the chart when I unplug the battery the battery is not even charged I guess it's better than indicating less voltage
News flash they are both made by skyrc! They are just their lower line charger! When you calibrate the cheap one the screen says skyrc! So calibrate the cheap one and your good!
Are you serious..because i ordered the supposed clone from amazon last night...and i hope i didnt make a mistake...i assumed they had to be somewhat similar....whats your experience with b6 clone???...
acourtney lawson i have the clone and it works perfect! I did calibrate it theres videos on utube on how to do it! This guy must have got a bad one but you can buy the best charger out there and get a bad one! But he must feel better bashing something he knows nothing about!
you have to know just like this guy said there is good and bad Chinese stuff. Not all Chinese stuff is garbage. a lot of it is great. Most of what we own if made in China but the price of manufacturing is higher. You can get the same thing made for different price points and they will make them. The good fakes are just as good as the real ones but the bad fakes are way cheaper to make than the real ones. That goes for everything. Clothes, electronics, shoes, anything. So remember you get what you pay for.
Comparing the real and the fake one. The real charger of course has the Sky RC logo on it. And the fake one does not have the sky rc logo on it. The fake one did not even claim to be sky rc to begin with from looking at the two Chargers they may look the same but they are not. And no one could see the difference between these two either it was in plain sight.
i have had the fake one for 4 years and it lasted a year and a half before it failed. it would not balance lithium cells anymore, but it does charge on all other functions. the real one i have only had for about 4 months or so.
This review is picky, you have not compared what really. Matters what’s in side and how it works, any charger should be calibrated, it be easier to say” I am sponsored by hobby king to get people to only buy genuine imax b6 chargers”. Your review should compare the two units with a far more technically backed subject matter
i bought the fake model (known to me), but reviews seem decent, anyways i want to know if i want to balance charge my power bank, do i need to desolder the cells from parallel, then set up in series? they are in parallel, 3.7v per cell.
Note that the real one has the real C E (european quality controlled) logo where as the the fake one has CE (China Export). The logo's have the same letters but the real one has a bigger spacing between the letters. It's always a good thing to pay attention to and a tell when buying equipment if it's a real tested and safe one or a fake. (Also not all "fake" or cloned products from china are bad, not by a long shot.)
So I just found out the b6 my brother bought me 5 years ago to replace my turnigy is a fake. Funnily mine reads slightly overvoltage especially under load so it never fully charges but I always thought that was the voltage drop of the cable. I always measure the terminals directly so it's not a problem
hmm, what is good because all factory has moved to china and all elektric made in china today. only frontpanel mark, sony, panasonic, dewalt, bosch, etc brand have frontpanel only sticker. many different brand elektric stuff have inside all same 100% but only frontpanel sticker have different, i has repair many many video,tv,radio, etcelektric stuff. all has inside boards same many different machine.

I got a fake charger and it over charges cell 3 and 4 to 4.28 v Im probably more pisst at the Fakt that im using it for about 4 months and only noticed it now !
Make sure you are charging the right cells. 4.1v is for Lithium Ion NOT Lithium Polymer. A lot of cell suppliers are pretty hopeless at differentiating between the two. Look for a cell voltage on the body of the cell. 3.6v is LiIo (charge to 4.1v) and 3.7v is LiPo (charge to 4.2v). The way to change the cell type for lithium is not immediately obvious (note you can select also for lithium LiFe which is 3.2v and 3.6v). I use all 3 types and I have found that the unit usually powers on showing the last used type. So if you have accidently selected LiIo then it will always charge only to 4.1v. Few reviewers ever mention that you can select between 3 types of lithium because they only look at the charger for RC batteries and these are usually LiPo.

Yes but one is correct and charges to where it’s supposed to , the other is capable of burning a house down.
i have the one you call a fake
its a great charger
you say connections are loose
not mine
ive been using mine for years and never had a problem
I just bought one from Amazon it looks like the one he's calling "fake"..... Anyways the charger works great so far I don't see any difference
yep, these work great,,,not sure what the problem is

buy them from reputable sources only
You cam calibrate the charger so you don't over charge the cells.
you shouldnt have to do that though.

what is each one's weight if i may ask? (I haven't watched the whole video yet.. not sure if you mention that later)
Ok you did say later the weight is much less on the fake one..
Thanks a lot for the great video!
is the fake one technically works and what is its problem if it is also charging?
It overcharges your batt. Measure it using multimeter
Mine is so fake that it has a dc in jack and also wire with alligator clips side by side xD
They are not fakes, you are comparing a Named Brand (Sky RC) and a unbranded product. Both come from China.
I agree, can’t be called a fake unless they are branded as skyrc ....... that said I think the fake is just as good to be fair
They are both made by skyrc i have a fake and the screen says skyrc when it powers up!

Why is this not fraud. If I take my Toyota badge off my mr2 and put a Ferrari badge on it and sold it as a Ferrari I could be charged?
not sure, im surprised skyrc havent taken legal action. probaby not worth their time or money
It has no SKYRC branding on it, so technically it's not a skyrc product. So not their issue.
