Looks like a lot of challenges in building for this track. This is going to be a great tournament & challenge!
I was pleasantly surprised by the Hummers performance! They did pretty well! Good job to the builders!

OK, that was really nice. Great job everybody. I loved watching all just go down the track. Great filming, well, most of the time. New Track, gotta get used to the new angles and stuff but it was still really good filming. I saw everything I needed to satisfy my Diecast racing void. Thanks GTR. Good job all.

That was quite a diverse collection of vehicles - and a Mini with big wheels comes out in top - who would've predicted that!
Great start to the new challenge of the dunes. On this first go round of the new track everyone should get a chance to race. I like the idea of a second event like others have mentioned pro race for the first 48 and amateur race for the rest.

I think the secret to our 2nd run was Raptor Racings scary looking Hummer parked in the car park...i said Jurassic Park wasn't real.
Next thing you know, Rex's Humvee roars, i get a fright and rush down the track to buy some clean underwear!
Quite proud to be at #1, but with 70+ more great cars coming up, im hoping we stay in that Top 48.

Where do you guys get your cars? Are any of them modified or kitbashed?

They’re 1:64 scale diecast cars (Hot Wheels, Matchbox, etc.) that are modified with weights, wheels, axle treatments, custom paint, decals.
@DogSquabRacing ....you forgot the secret ingredients: Fairy Dust, Unicorn tears, Dragon scales and Mermaid kisses.
These also help get the cars down the track 😁

Yes, all are modified with added weight at a minimum. Most all are either painted or dyed. There are a few kitbashes. The rule was to make it look like it belonged in a sand dunes race.
Really nice track can’t wait to see if my truck can make it down the track going to be cool to see everyone race😊😊

Mark, you outdid yourself! Even with the update videos and pictures, the track looks even better than I expected this soon. I respectfully watch every time trial. It helps me learn how other vehicles handle the track and gives me ideas on how to improve for the next race. It also gives me a chance to really enjoy the modifications, paint and decals that everyone did. There are some really beautiful and amazing looking vehicles entered in this event. I really love how much effort everyone puts into their builds, and the effort of the hosts as well.
Just a thought for the stopping area that others might want to consider for tracks with scenery: I’ve been experimenting with ways to slow or stop the vehicles at the end of a race. From the end of the paved area to the trees, if you use some scenery mat like Walthers sells, simulating tall meadow grass, it may help slow the vehicles down since it’s soft and tall enough to cause friction. It would be similar to how model railroaders were using a few paint brush bristles or piece of monofilament fishing line stuck in between the ties to simulate weeds but it also holds a train car in position, like a handbrake or chock would. I tried a similar material and it slowed the cars nicely without them crashing at full speed into a wall or another car.
Hey Mark since you receive so many entries maybe break it down to 2 different tournaments then the winner of each tournament will go against each other for a championship.
I think that they could be split up into a pro and semi pro leagues.

This new track looks great!!! I love that in the corner of a few shots you can see the landscape of the first track in the background!! It adds a lot of depth to the whole scene and ties the tracks together. Not sure if that was planned or not but what a great little extra. Also- if the raccoon hasn't chimed in yet, "Ragin' " is the present version of the verb " to rage". If it were pronounced "rag" there would be two G's in the spelling, like "tagging". Think a shortened no ending G version of the word "raging" as in "the bull was raging through the China shop". I hope that helps!

Maybe as they are losers they only get one race in a random lane draw - a quick knockout but everyone see their trucks race at least once.

Could even have the top ones go into the real tournament as wildcards…?

The 3 runs were all from that lane. I chose lane 2 because the entries are tested most on the half pipe.

Seems to me that the longer wheel base vehicles are hitting / rubbing their underside on the dunes which is slowing them up. Is there any rules that would not allow a 6 wheel chassis?. To me that would seem to be an option for a longer wheelbase vehicle.
