      Yes, it is very cool and out is of most peoples budget. Would need to be a very calculated investment within a focused market.

    Hey John, thanks for the great video. I'll probably never get back to California again myself, I lived in San Jose for a few years in the early to mid-90's. I'm a screen printer by trade and did some printing in the valley at that time but mainly did sales. Unfortunately didn't develop an interest in Embroidery until many years later. I'm just going to subscribe to your channel now as I think I can probably learn a lot from you. It was cool to see you so well received at many of the booths and I've bookmarked a couple of the people you interviewed at the show. Just so that non-US viewers aren't confused, the video's of the Grand Canyon tacked on at the end of your video were not taken in California, guessing you stopped off at Vegas on your way home. Nice to see the Canyon again also.

    John, that was an absolutely fantastic review of the show. The embroidery and textile machines are amazing, and the technology in this industry is incredible. It was great to see Jesse enjoying the wonderful sights with you. Did he come over to Australia with you on any of your trips and manage to sight see? How nice for people to thank you for your generosly shared tutorials John, well deserved. ❤❤❤❤ 🇦🇺

    Amazing to see all the things being offered to production folks. Thanks for bringing it to us. The sad thing is people see these things being worn by other people and then want the average embroiderer to duplicate it for them with the average embroidery machine. 🥲 I agree with the person who said dog hats are a cool new market. Who doesn't love a doggo in a hat. 😍

  • @mauveesone

    Wow on the DTG machine add on of printing on the white thread, I have this machine and the brother 10 needle and found a work around where I print the outline of the art on the DTG then stop the machine then add the embroidered file like how you would add an appliqué fabric and continue the DTG print job and Voila, it worked but you need to use raw white cotton thread since this machines ink cannot print on polyester. Would I use this in the future once the add on comes out? Probably not because it’s easier to print full color DTG then take the garment to my brother luminaire single needle, use the camera to align the black line embroidered sew out to the DTG art. This is awesome for pocket logos for less thread and weight with less puckering during the wash and dry care.

    • @EmbroideryLegacy

      Lol… I apprenticed for a decade under Schiffli Masters (first two years on a 1905 manual pantograph one stitch at a time) who trained in the 50’s and 60’s to learn their trade. I’d say they had just a bit of skill to create intricate Schiffli free standing lace patterns.

    So were there no women exhibiting? Every exhibitors interview was with a man.

    • @EmbroideryLegacy
      @EmbroideryLegacy  9 місяців тому +2

      Yes, of course women were exhibiting. We politely asked each company if someone would be willing do an interview with no specifics on gender. My mother and grandmother successfully ran our business for decades from the 70’s to the early 90’s, we would not be here today if not for strong women in business.

    • @christines2556
      @christines2556 9 місяців тому +1

      Then what a shame no company chose to have a female spokesperson @@EmbroideryLegacy

    • @christines2556
      @christines2556 8 місяців тому

      @@MinstrelSaucebecause it matters and is important. It isn't an assumption when you look at a video and all of the people interviewed are men. It would have been nice for equality and representation for women to be interviewed too. I am not blaming the interviewer necessarily as they have already said the companies interviewed put up males to be interviewed. It probably says more about the companies than the interviewer. However, being involved in the textiles industry for more than 30 years I also know many women who would make great spokespeople are pushed aside by male colleagues too.

    • @christines2556
      @christines2556 8 місяців тому

      @@MinstrelSauceSexism remains a pervasive issue that undermines the potential for equality and equity across all sectors. The reaction to calls for equal representation by dismissing them as mere complaints rather than legitimate concerns is part of the problem. It trivialises the systemic barriers women face, especially in industries traditionally dominated by men, including textiles.
      When only one gender is visible at professional events or in leadership roles, it sends a clear message about who is considered valuable or capable within that field. This lack of diversity not only perpetuates stereotypes but also hinders innovation by excluding diverse perspectives and experiences. The issue is not about preventing one gender from participating but ensuring that all have equal opportunities to contribute and be recognised.
      Equity and equality are about addressing imbalances and ensuring that everyone, regardless of gender, has the opportunity to succeed. This means actively working to include underrepresented groups in all areas, including leadership positions. When we point out these disparities, we're not "whining"; we're advocating for a more inclusive and equitable environment. Criticising efforts to highlight and address gender imbalance does nothing to promote equality; instead, it reinforces the status quo and undermines efforts to create more diverse and effective industries.
      The argument that one might complain about an all-female panel at an adult video convention similarly misses the point. The goal is to challenge and change the systemic biases that limit opportunities based on gender. So yes, you are allowed to complain if everyone interviewed at an adult film convention was female. Equality and equity in representation matter across all industries because they reflect and influence societal values and norms. By dismissing concerns about gender representation, we ignore the broader issue of sexism and miss out on the benefits that true diversity brings to any field.
