G’day Antony and community! Wish to offer my thanks to those members of the community who have shown civility and politeness 🙏 it is very refreshing to see.
Just a couple points of clarification for the vid.
    2:45
You show my vid and say that the opponent should be in chūdan based on the text, this is a very fair critique. However, just to mention, the vid in my group’s instagram of us working through this had the opponent in chūdan (which I actually show at the beginning of my Itto Ryodan vid). My most recent vid was more to show it in the context of an opponent cutting from jōdan. However, I should have explained this in the beginning so that lack of mention is on me. Fair point 👍
    5:05
I think this a point where we have agreed to disagree, which is all good. I prefer to not use modern speakers of Japanese who aren’t qualified to read Classical Japanese for reasons I say in my vid. If you want to use them to clarify details then all good, totally up to you.
    11:00
This upwards cut you say comes from later texts, I found this interesting as I will admit I was not aware of this. Would love to see the documentation on this to be honest as I would like to give it a read. As I explain in my video, my interpretation has a foundational basis and then two additional layers to provide options in case the opponent reacts differently (the upwards cut is one of these layers). It is not my base interpretation for the technique, rather a possible follow-up depending on what the opponent does. Not saying my interpretation is the best out there by any means, just clarifying a couple points.
    12:10
You seem to be hinting that I said if you cut and step offline you will still be hit. This is not what I said. Just to clarify, as I am showing the process of interpreting the text I say that doing the cut on the spot WITHOUT stepping results in a double.
    14:15
I don’t say this in my interpretation. It is actually one of the main reasons why I prefer a multi-layered interpretation so you have options if the technique fails or the opponent reacts differently.
I strongly disagree with using modern Japanese speakers unqualified in interpreting and translating classical Japanese texts translating Classical Japanese texts, as well as the points you say in sparring. However, we both know this. At the end of the day, healthy disagreement is great. It is what keeps the discussion moving and the accountability maintained.
No hate whatsoever, just clarifying a couple of my points for our audiences.
Great to see the missus on this one by the way, all the best to her and getting her fitness back bit by bit ✊🙏 I appreciate the final ending of this, which is putting ourselves out there to our audiences and letting them critically think and decide for themselves. This is what we should all be about.
All the best to you Antony, the missus, and your little one!
    From Aussieland 🙏

It's very similar the the Krumphau in German medieval longsword. You keep your hands low and back so that they aren't a target, your blade is low and to your right side, then as they strike, you move towards your right and strike down on their hands, or against their blade.

Exciting video demonstration AC thanks for sharing. I have a question. What I noticed is that when you are demonstrating and at the point of impact when the sword makes contact with the bag or with an opponent I noticed that they are chops, not slashes. Does the scroll actually indicate if those are supposed to be chops or slashes because they are two different methods of injuring your opponent or killing your opponent.

    General comment (about fighting)
Ego problems (and explaining about how they are better nonsense) If you have an advantage you have an advantage.
    Outnumbered (it generally doesn't matter)
The olden days were shit (If you ever time travel keep out of it. Get a boat, go to the Islands.)
    40ft is a good size...

@AntonyCummins , you've improved. It's was entertaining to see that wheel cut. It showed you had done your hours whacking that bag to study the technique. But mate, real talk; Bickering with someone across the world over technique has fuck all to do with becoming stronger. I admire you as an scholar and I have a tendency to take your academic study as kanon. But as bushi you two knuckle heads are barely mid tier. It's like watching two hipster swinging around chainsaws pretending to be lumberjacks. As a viewer, I'm more interested seeing you connecting the dots through your own training rather than having a virtual pissing contest with other schools.
