Thank you so much for taking the time to show these details! Do you by chance remember the hardware needed to mount the engine to the stand? Or a link to where I can find it? Thanks!
I should’ve written it down… the top bolts I used the engine mount hardware honestly. The lowers, I think some super long M10’s and I put a nut on the back side.
33:18 great tip. The dust shield I got didn’t fit well caused me an hour so didn’t drop the drivetrain in today. Gonna superglue a rubber seal along the dust shield to prevent the rattle.
Stefan, does "crank girdle" work as a name for the bottom tray? I used an M8x1.25 Heli-Coil in my BP engine's knock sensor hole (correct thread already there) to adapt it for a Bosch donut-type knock sensor. My Dad (RIP) and I did many an engine swap. Glad you got to share the experience.
He’s always here whenever I need it, super happy to help and I love it. Crank girdles are a bit different in the sense that they support the block, this is just a windage tray for oil.
love the video. Have you set the cruise at interstate speed and figured out the MPG? I've been looking and that doesn't ever come up, especially with a turbo added.
The main difference between the k24 and the z3 motor in a Miata is the k24 requires a whole new subframe- the z3 does not. And since there’s a turbo on there making 400hp…. Why blow a couple more thousand for a more costly motor that would need a power adder to match current power levels…..it’s not just drop in the different motor and make 400….

A nickname for torque paint we use at work is “bird poop”.
Fitting
Is there any fear of getting RTV squeeze-out into the pan? I seem to remember the Speed Academy guys killing an F20C due to too much RTV.
If I had put too much on sure, but I’m not worried with what I did.
very cool!
Thanks!

I have not looked into MPG. Definitely not something I’ve ever bothered with on a project car.
Thanks for another outstanding video!!! Best Always,
Thanks Christian!
Garage AC. You're welcome :) Glad it worked for you.
Not sure how I lived without it.
Bigger the glob better the job !!
😂
Kickass!! Getting ready to rip some turbo tec!!!!
I’ve missed boost
@@NappMotorsports I used to have some in my old Elantra, believe it or not. Put down a modest 225whp and 233 lbft on a essitially a tdo4 16g turbo.
STEFAN I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!
Love you too Mike!
Noticed your oil pick up has the older revision ‘z’ bracket rather than the ‘hook’. The ‘z’ one have a tendency to shear off.
Hasn’t broken in 2 years of abuse. Not worried about it now.
If that's a k24z7 or z3 motor. I'd honestly just do a k24/K20. Better flowing head and have that bigger bottom end
Trust me, he knows. He literally designed the turbo manifold Kpower sells.
Then do it... And run without a hood because a kfrank does not fit. Especially in an NA engine bay ;)
@@pablosanchez000 cut the hood 🤣

@@joelavallee3074 also replacement engines and parts i imagine would be cheaper as well with the z3
