Saw a ST in Black today. It's actually a nice looking SUV, I was quite surprised. Pics don't do it justice, when you see it in person, you can really see all the body lines.
I've always been a fan of Buick, merely because out of all of GM brands, Buick has always been the most reliable. But recently, they've been the most stylish as well in my opinion. Idk what happened to Cadillac but I'd much rather drive around in a new Envision or Enclave before an XT4 or 5
Man, this exterior looks like a classier version of the Blazer. GM knocked it out of the park, but I can't get past that gloss black on the shift buttons and those seats...
Last one resembled a knock-off BMW X3 (not a bad thing); this one absolutely looks like a classier Blazer clone with Acura shift gear inside. Still imported from China or Mexico like the Blazer?
Hey Joe, Kudos for working so hard and being the first UA-camr to review the 2021 Envision. As a young man from a family of Buick buyers, I can't wait to hear what y'all have to say. That character line you admired on the exterior lower-half driver's door is called the Sweep-spear. This has been a distinctive Buick design feature since the Happy Days of the 1950's. So iconic, and with an even longer heritage than the Hofmeister kink! Thanks for showing us the spare tire but you forgot to mention how soft is that center console armrest that opens bisectually just like on an M-B or Bimmer. More base hp than a GLA. And same hp as X2 but Buick achieves this on Regular gas.. Buick has hit this one out of the Park! Like a home run in the bottom of the 9th.
I have the 2021 Buick Essence St AWD with panoramic roof and I love it. I’m impressed by the quality for that price range. Thank you for your informative videos, helps a lot when you’re looking for different options.
I don't see it . It look like a small version of the transverse. And Mercedes put there same look almost on every cars and suv and out of those brands buick will last the longest in reliability. My buick verano turbo last up to 1 year and 6 months without engine problems and the nly thing need fixing was the o2 senor and oil change
I bought a 2021 Essence model black on black with panoramic roof. Skipped the awd. Did not like the ST blacked out model. This new design of the Envision is very nice widened the stance on the new Cadillac XT4 platform. Beautiful smooth and quiet ride. Just what you always expect from the luxury of Buick.

Buick did an awesome job on the Envision, the exterior is stunning and the interior is beautiful, the new envision is way better than the last-gen Envision, definitely on par with its competitors. Buick was ranked #4 in reliability! People complains about Buick’s being built in China, well at least China knows how to build a high quality vehicle, unlike the Big 3. Great Video Joe!

Outside styling is v nice. Inside leaves a little to be desired with those seats but heated seats and steering wheel, wireless apple carplay is good for $34k
Thanks for featuring this new Envision. It really took Buick quite some time to get it out! Great review, and looking forward to see you review the Avenir version.
We had a 2016 Envision Prem ll(traded it on a Regal TourX) and really liked it. But this new one looks like another hit and really like the design language.
I’m in the market for a small luxury CUV and I’m blown away by the features in this new Envision Avenir. The frameless rear view mirror can actually change to video display. I’m old and I remember the old Buick logo and this colorful, modernized new one is a big step up. Many cars in this class cost more and give you much less! GLC, X3, Q5...I love the RDX but that touchpad is nowhere near as easy to use as the Avenir’s giant 10.2” HD touch pad angled towards the driver! The RDX’s rear camera and display are not HD, a reason I didn’t buy it. The Avenir, which is French for Future, gives you a head up display, wireless charging for phone, remote vehicle start so the car will be cool or warm when you enter, the most tech I’ve seen at this price level including adaptive cruise control. What’s more, seat heaters front and rear, seat cooling up front with quilted perforated leather, massage driver’s seat, heated steering wheel, kick to the open the rear hatch, Wireless Apple Car Play and Android, Bose 9 speaker system, air ionizer, All LEDs lights, HD surround (birds eye view), panoramic moonroof, rear seat reminder, body colored moldings, capless fuel filler and more all for $47k MSRP. The only concern I have is resale value so this may be the first car I ever leased and I can give it back or buy it in three years when the warranty is up. I heard a little larger model is coming next year (GX) will have the same wheelbase but a little longer with larger rear cargo room. I’m strongly considering this current one for its compact size but it’s not easy to get.
We liked the Envision so much we bought one. It is the $49,320 version with everything but with only 3,000 miles was $35,000. Cannot you buy a Japanese CUV with surround camera, Safety Seat, and heads up display for that much? Even Lexus doesn't offer a HUD or Safety Seat. We rented a 2017 Ford Escape SE AWD for a 6 hour trip to another state to pick up the Buick Envision. I was asking myself what Ford does to the Lincoln to make it quieter, better handling, and better seat cushions. I thought I was going to get tinnitus it was so loud. The throttle was responsive and the brakes were very good, but the steering and and handling was terrible. We did manage 33 mpg with the cruise set at 65 mph though, which was great for AWD and torque converter transmission. My butt was so sore from sitting on 1.3" of seat cushion. When we traded the Envision on Regal TourX they gave $2,500 more than we owed plus the taxes that were financed and we got $9,000 off MSRP on the TourX.
That’s great that the infotainment is at a slight angle. Still, there’s some new cars out there which make you reach or take your eyes off the road just to use there’s.
I am the proud owner is a Buick Regal Sportback GS, and this looks like they look the design language and applied it to the Envision. Looks so familiar to me, from the front and back to the interior.
I mean, @34k this is a solid purchase, nice design interior/exterior, reasonable horsepower I spent 34k on my 2020 Kia Sorento but they had a 6k MSRP markdown (so I couldn’t pass on the major savings) to clear out their inventory since the Telluride and newly redesigned Sorento were on there on their way to showroom floors...Loving my Sorento (more space and almost 300HP), but I would spend my 34k on this Buick
I wondered about that when I saw him reach through the door to put the seats down. Good to know. Would have been a big blunder if GM neglected to put something in the hatch area to let the seats down.

Correct me if I’m wrong but didn’t this car come out as a Chinese market only vehicle in 2019 ? If you look up Buick models for China this one along with a couple other vehicles were shown.
Never have I thought I'd consider a Buick. But being in the market for a compact SUV, I'm not happy that so many use CVT's and have grossly underpowered engines (they're SLOW!) in them. RAV4 has the resale value & 8-speed, but still slow. This Buick has a lively engine that has more than decent "go" and a 9-speed transmission. That's why I'm considering this one. That said ... it's a Buick. Resale value is nothing compared to Honda, Toyota, or Mazda. Finding something cool and reliable is too hard these days. I don't know ...
Very nice, we bought the 2020 preferred in at Garber Buick GMC in Fort Pierce we love it. Ours has the 2.5 l just under 200hp it's got plenty of power but the 2.0T that's got to be real peppy @228hp. Nice post. I'm looking to get a 2018 Lacrosse soon hopefully.

Joe you're the best, haha!! I had just read on GMAuthority that these just started arriving at the dealerships and you got yourself one to review already. I gotta say that is a sexy looking SUV in the ST trim, one of the sexiest. And I think they nailed the interior layout. Of course with the Essence and Avenir trims there will be more features and leather and so forth. For $34,000 thousand that is a really good looking SUV with good base tech and features.
I like the vent under the headlights. I worked on Air Craft, and it reminds me of an engine intake. That's what attracted me to check it out. I just might trade my (2007, 65,000 miles)GMC Acadia in.

For the price I'd personally rather get a Kia Sorrento with the 2.5 turbo and AWD. But it looks hella lot better than the previous generation. Doesn't look like a soccer mom car.
I always think the blue and red lights on the climate controls always cheapens the interior, if we can see the temp we are not 5 years old and don't need a color code for what's hot and cold...
Hey Raiti, great review as always! Would you say this and the Mazda CX-5 are comparable? Looking for a second, safe, comfortable vehicle for a family of 4.
Actually beautiful almost like luxury version of small Cherokee I suppose but very impressed, love the styling on the inside doors not sure what it’s called but it’s perfect
Alot of styling cues from Cadillac XTS's interior that was introduced in 2013. With that said, its a little beauty and the cues blend nicely for the package.

Now that you mention it, it really does remind me of an Acura in the front.
I thought Mazda
Im glad buick put the remote start on the fob and not in an app or worse a subscription.
That is a very good point!
Very sharp looking SUV but that black wheel well trim makes it looks the vehicle has massive wheel wells and tiny tires
How about we bring back a updated Grand national.
I like the way that you think.
I see the Mercedes similarity, but I see Mazda even more. All are friggin great looking now
Hey Raiti, great review as always!
I am so glad that I could share this one with you.
Flat folding rear is good thing 👍
AGREED!
Please include reviews of vehicles inside & outside lighting in darkness.
Sure will
Alot of styling cues from Cadillac XTS's interior that was introduced in 2013. With that said, its a little beauty and the cues blend nicely for the package.
Joe..Thanks for the envision review..you keep your word👍.
It looks like a very nice change for buick..
I think Buick Competes more with Mazda because Mazda too is a premium brand
I just bought a 2020 Envision. Oh well. Nice video
love the commitment joes!!, but dont ever be afraid to take a break it seems like alot of worke
Would you choose this over the cx 9 carbon edition.?
This is a 2-row and slightly bigger than the smaller CX-5.
Did u notice the felt lined wheel wells to reduce noise like Lexuses. Compact cuv at 3900+lbs?
Great review as usual ! Would be interested in seeing you test the 2021 Envision Avenir equipped with the optional CDC shocks, in sport mode it has firmer ride and heavier steering feel. Cheers
Beautiful inside and out. When will it have an electric drivetrain?
Looking sharp now👌🏻
They did a good job!
Thanks raiti ride you sold me on this one!
