Absolutely. It's called "inflation" and basically results in a hollow dry skin. You can also fill them with wax or more modern materials. Though wet preservation is much preferred.
@@evanbrown6923 i inflate caterpillars,would stuffing them with cotton work as well?since i never tried and don't wanna destroy a caterpillar if it doesn't work...i like inflation but it is a tedious process...

does type of alcohol matter??
I believe so. I remember reading that 70%-80% alcohol is good. Anything above or below that will ruin the specimen. At 3:39 he explains it.
