The Ugandan diaspora needs to understand that it is not their responsibility to get their families out of poverty! Tradition has convinced folks to believe that being selfish with your money n pursuing your personal dreams is a bad thing even though you're the one putting in work to make yourself better!! American society pushes for individualism while most 3rd world countries advocate for collectivism. Every individual should develop a mindset to take care of themselves first whenever possible esp when it comes to your savings cuz it takes discipline to be able to save. We all need to learn to be comfortable with saving money. Don't always feel the urge n pressure to spend it on things that don't add value to it as if it is burning through your pockets!! Therefore, never let anyone make u feel guilty for not being able to help them out! If you feel u've enough savings to help them out, then Amen to that! If not, don't beat yourself up! Let every adult carry their own cross to the finish line!! Some folks are simply good at sitting on their asses waiting for someone to come and rescue them from their poverty mentality!! Make sure it is not u assigned to that rescue mission!! Real Talk!!
Thank you for your thoughts, though parents should always be helped and taken care of by their children. The rest of adults should work. Btw, when you keep helping/rescuing people from their problems, it disables them, they stop thinking for themselves or working because they know you're always their to come to their rescue.
That's as per your own conception, thanks but still as a reasonable person who needs development, u can't see your sibling drop out of school with all his or her intellectual skills and just fold ur arms ! Pay that person's tuition, fight illiteracy first and later , let him go make money himself after acquiring Education . It's just an example.

You need to go to Morocco to see beautiful architecture, they have riads in Morocco and the architecture is so different to anywhere else in the world.

But something is amiss here. What kind of visa did he have when he first went to the UK? That will answer many questions I have. You cannot get a working visa to go to the UK to work as a security guard. Not today, not 23 years ago. They give out professional visas only. Security guard is not one of them. If he had a working permit right away when he first entered the UK he could have worked in a different job that paid him more. Those who work those kinds of jobs have overstayed their visas and cannot go back and forth to their home countries like the way he was able to do. Also to create a living in the UK that will allow you to be able to go back and forth to your home country if you did not enter with a working visa is not that easy. For him to work as a security guard and be able to have a place to stay and keep going back and forth to Uganda he must have another income to support that and not from a security guard only. First it takes years for one who works as a security guard to even be able to afford to take a vacation, nevertheless to go back and forth to another country like the way he is saying. Okay after putting that aside now my big question is this: what are his parents doing for living? Or he has a great uncle working in the Government? We see so many people who work in the Government steal money and start to do something and claim that their kids who are living abroad are the ones sending them that money. They are doing money laundering and making us who live abroad look like fools that we are not working hard enough or we party a lot and spend all our money while the story behind where they get their capital is totally different. I won't believe anything he is saying until I know what kind of visa he had at 19 when he first entered the Uk that allowed him to work right away and be able to go back and forth to Uganda. Also I will understand if he says that he came up with the idea and someone else is behind that or if he says he was able to secure a loan in Africa to develop all those houses if not and you guys keep believing this story then I have a bridge to sell for anyone who wants to buy it should contact me.

He was not paying bills not supporting siblings who had challenges of education or food. Remember his parents were already in real estate and gold from Zaire so even if he was not given the money to start. Evidently he was not spending money to build for parents or support food situations at home etc. His earnings were just for his use and then he was financially disciplined and truthful. He is wise as well.
Yeah his father also chased him from his house when he was a teenager. Then he lived with his mom, who didn’t have much. That’s why he left to UK to work and build house for his mom. Unfortunately mom died 6 months after arriving in UK.
