As a harmonica player, I'm always looking for inspiration/ideas from different instruments. For bluegrass, I tend to look to the fiddle. Enjoyed the phrases you shared. I'll be using some of this in my next video.
This is great and it's about time we finally get this kind of practical approach for fiddle (of which there are so many gazzilions devoted to guitar licks). This is stuff player cn really sink their teeth into! I will be subscribing to/ buying everything available.
@@TheFiddleChannel Hallo your videos just ended my journey with my classical teacher and my orchestra starting a new path with you please do share the PDFs matlalamm7@gmail.com
Fantastic. You've put a lot of thought and hard work into producing this. Great licks. "Sweet Baby's Arms" will never be the same again..!! Thanks Chris. ;-)
@@TheFiddleChannel Chris, I'll send you an email and would request the PDF of the licks. This'll be easier than trying to write them out by hand..!! Cheers.
The Fiddle Channel Hi! My 14 year old daughter has been playing Suzuki violin since she was six years old, she also plays Norwegian folk music. Discovering your «20 licks for bluegrass» - she (finally) really wants to learn how to improvise! It would be fantastic if you could email me the sheet music (PDF)! carsten.boe@osloskolen.no
This is yet another great video in your Fiddle Channel series Chris - so helpfully, logically and clearly presented. This whole series is so informative - your breadth and depth of knowledge combined with the straight-forward way you present the information opens up so much for fiddle players especially people who are relatively new to these genres. Thank you - and please keep going!
Subscribed I just picked up a violin / fiddle a little over a week ago and started an online course for classical violin this style looks like I need to learn how to play pretty decent before I can attempt too much
very well presented.. I teach trumpet at Elizabethtown College and use your site to relax and enjoy another style. If you can , please send me the music notation at your convenience. thanks.
Excellent lessons, excellent teacher!! May I suggest bit of room treatment for fiddle training videos? The resonance is distracting on your video lessons, though perhaps it is useful in the room when giving lessons, etc.
Hi Adam. Thanks for the comment. You're right, and people have mentioned it before. I do put up some things to dampen the sound, but it seems like I need more.

Hi Rohirn. Bluegrass isn't easy! I suggest working on some easy old-time tunes before thinking too hard about bluegrass.
Any suggestions?
