The mostttt relatable vlog on so many levels. I graduated in May and plan to be in NYC by January. I took my first 9-5 job a few months ago doing social media management full time, but I just resigned! Do I want the same job in nyc?? Is choosing to barista at a cafe just for fun a lazy approach to my twenties?? What do I want this decade to look like? Ah!!
ughhh this is so relatable! I was doing social media job from the middle of my university years till I graduated a few months ago! now that I’m out of school I haven’t worked since because honestly I don’t know if I wanna keep working on that, is so harsh on your mental health! sometimes I’d like to work on retail or something funny and cute for this time of my life, but it feels like a waste of time because I do have a degree🥲 it’s tough out here
literally this is exactly what i’m going through!! i’m graduating this fall and am so scared to get a big girl job and i have no idea what to do either. my best advice is to remember you’ll end up exactly where you’re supposed to be and with your degree you can do so much! you can go into marketing, fashion, photography, sports, etc. and new york is THE place for that and even if you don’t want to do that..having a degree is what matters most truly you can get any job pretty much with a degree. so don’t get scared everything will work out and it’s exciting to have so many options!!
omg Josie.. use your skills to your advantage! You have so much experience in digital marketing + a degree it in - you are so employable in the digital marketing field - don't sell yourself short. You are 5 steps infant of some many people because of UA-cam/socialmedia.. I know any social media marketing agency would love you. take this from someone who has a degree in digital media and now trying to get experience in jobs in this field .. I get it
josie! i feel you on this. i think youll feel ready when the time is right and you find an apartment that you absolutely love. dont worry about finding a job right away- it takes time. try to enjoy the process
i have a digital marketing degree too and everything you said i feel too! you are not alone or weird for feeling this way! give yourself grace. it’s okay to not know yet. you are not your negative thoughts! some home vlog ideas could be morning routines, how to get your spark back, q&a, assumptions video, or vlogging like we’re on facetime!
Imposter syndrome is so real but you do so much with social media that you don't even realize. Managing brand partnerships, social media applications, editing, etc. Just hype up all of that on your resume and don't be ashamed. - a corp America sales girly
Our 20’s are extremely difficult to navigate, but just from watching your videos over the years, I would suggest going back to NY for a year and continue YT and maybe a few internships before settling into a career. You have your entire life to work so dont feel down about not finding your passion right away. Good luck❤❤🫶🏼
New follower here- have you thought of trying Hoboken NJ? It’s right outside of NYC and it’s still the city vibe with restaurants and businesses, but a lot less busy and NYC is right across from there so it would be the perfect balance. :))
Hey girl! You are so not alone! I am almost finished with my degree at UC Santa Barbara & thinking about the next steps as well. I have a couple of suggestions: explore certifications to learn new skills, you could always do more internship work, or take an online course in something relevant/interesting to you! Best of luck
The future at this age is literally terrifying. Currently in the job interview stage and feeling directionless on what my purpose is. One book ive loved to help me feel better about this age and would recommend reading is the defining decade. Anyways this too shall pass and it’ll all work out, right?
early 20s are the hardest. you are so not alone in feeling directionless, so many people our age, including me feel the exact same. everything always works out the way it's supposed to
It’s so refreshing to see an influencer who actually shows how hard life can be and is real about emotions so thank you!

It’s refreshing hearing you say all of that as someone who’s graduating soon and kind of regrets what they studied/has for job experience

i feel you so deeply on this
I love your videos and I look up to you so much also I would love an old fashioned in depth makeup tutorial if you need ideas! 🙈❤️
I hope you find the right apartment Josie. I’m here to support you and I’ll be thinking about you every step of the way 💜💜.
You should work on the back end of influencing like planning brand events, out reach, social media managers maybe? that might fit with your degree!
