These reminds me of the greek Road schrines. They used to be "greek-blue" (I was told that the blue color kept evil spirits away) but now they come in many colors and shapes. They are places on the roadside next to the fatal accidentscene to honour and remember the people that lost their lives in traffic accidents. They are usually filled with photos, icons, flowers and candles. Very nice gesture to a loved one.
Thanks Mark. I just so happen to have everything here to make these. I don't have to spend any money and I can make a beautiful box. Have a great day!!!!!
I loved this, Mark! I haven't been around much because a dear friend of mine passed away and now I know I want to make a shadow box as a tribute to him. Thanks for the wonderful crafty idea and I think this project will be so therapeutic for me. xo
Mark, these are very beautiful! I love Mexican art especially shrines and Frida. Nice idea on making shrines of Grandmas or other relatives too. thanks!!!
BEAUTIFUL ..!!!! OMG Mark ,last summer I went to Mexico City and I saw similar colorful boxes and I love them so much I bought a couple ..!!!.. I just had one of those "Why I did not thought about it moments ".... LOVE IT ...LOVE IT LOVE IT...!!!
I love this idea, using simple supplies. It could easily be made a bit larger as well! I hope I am able to make one for this year. A person dear to me passed last week and I can envision one for him already. Much more simple perhaps for his tastes, but in honor of his culture and a culture that I adore. I have your book, Mark, and I love it!
Living on a small island like I do at least 75% of the things you use aren't available to me and cost an arm and a leg to order them but I still love your videos you are very talented and I appreciate you sharing your talent with us. :D
Omg, did I make a comment on this video already? I don't know but Mark you need to make more of this nichos ideas because you master them very, very... ( did I say very already?) very well. I know, my comment seems cheese, but I really like this project. Muchas gracias Mark Hugs Vicky
I think I might make some of these for Father's Day! My grandpa and uncle passed away a while ago and I think I can use their pictures and incorporate some trinkets that used to belong to them. I know my dad would like that. Sort of like an altar for DOD but with a masculine twist!
Ooooooh Mark, I bought a flower shaped punch recently and went a little crazy with punching out flowers! Thanks for the idea. The 3d paint is amazing isn't it? The colours you used are so bright and sunny, really cheery and happy, wonderful.
Aaah! I get so excited every time I see a video from you. This is absolutely adorable!!!! I will definitely try this. Thank you! You never cease to amaze me and my crafty friends :-)
what another beautiful idea, even though it is not our culture, it still is very striking. We are huge fans of color up in this house :P and will adapt it with our own special images ! thank you again for creating amazing art.

Keep it up, big brain! :-)
