Thank you for uploading this! There's a severe lack of videos on the history of PMCs and this documentary has real old-timey charm to it. Happen to know what the full documentary is called, so I can hunt it down somewhere?
@@derockcarl305 that is true...I was born there, at Maphuta, we had to leave for Pretoria, I am a working homeless in Johanessburg, apparenlty there is a head office of PMC in johannesburg
the whole thing is forgetting to say what the real story was, there's titanium in that deposit, ... the USA needed titanium for SR-71s and nuclear submarines ... the only other source known at that time was the USSR and they weren't giving the USA nothin' ... so, the USA made a deal with the Apartheid govt to supply them a 'research' reactor (that they subsequently made atom bombs with) in trade for the titanium ... no one ever tells the truth (the first survey job I did was at the Safari 1 reactor in Hartbeespoort, near Pretoria)
We moved to PTA near phelindaba, apparently University of North West has a nuclear scholarship, but we knew nothing about it...has to study IT and currently studying cyber security to figure out how mosad penetrated that place to steal things there.

So phalaborwa was nothing without pmc
That is basically correct. Although the Phalaborwa entrance to the Kruger National Park is also situated there.
From phalaborwa working in Pretoria, i feel like pmc is not doing enough to empower the local youth

I don't understand why Mauviel doesnt have a factory or something in Phalaborwa for the youth.

Mosad was supplied plutonium created by Safari-1 by the apartheid regimes to be used as fuel for their first A-bombs
