- The tutorial shows you how to build a very cheap and effective static meter for ghost hunting. These indicators are usually called e-field meters / detectors and only indicate the presence of positive charge. If you are looking for a more comprehensive static detector Infraready.co.uk build a detector that shows both positive and negative static charge resulting in more credible evidence when using for Paranormal research.

If putting this into a project box, would I need to keep the antenna out of the box or will it still pick up if left inside the box?
Visage Paranormal it should work in or out. Better outside though as it will be exposed to charge in the atmosphere where as if mounted in a plastic box, the box can hold its own charge.
provides half the information how difficult would it be to make a diagram. The video is blurry can not make out the images in the background. This is not on the website he's just after selling stuff..
Hey andy for the last 6 months I’ve been making my own static meters using the mpf102 and I’m trying to find a way I can add a buzzer to one but not found any on the net do you have any idea how it can be done please as when ever I build one the light stays on so adding a buzzer just sounds all the time I need one where the light stays off and only come on when it picks up static then the buzzer would sound thanks
You would need to add a 555 ic to add sound. If you email me at infraready@live.co.uk I’ll see if I can find you a circuit. Thanks
Infraready Paranormal I did think I’d need one of them so I ordered some today off eBay
Buzzer can actually be added to the circuit in this tutorial. I’ll dig out the circuit. In addition you can get buzzer circuits here rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F192161110703
Thank you Andy much appreciated
How would I combine for a positive and negative field detector
Www.infraready.co.Uk we sell the positive and negative detector on our website
