Lop bunnies are like the opposite of dogs and cats when they're babies. Dogs with pointed ears (like shepherds) and cat ears start off floppy and eventually stand up. Lop ears start off standing and flop over time. They're adorable.
It was funny when my roommate got a lop bunny baby in college on a lark - his parents never let him have hamsters or anything, so why not. Since he hadn't had any small pets, I made sure he had all the right stuff (I had hamsters and parakeets so knew the drill) when he insisted he wanted this bunny. Then a week or two later he came to me suggesting the bunny was "broken"... Why, I asked? "the ears fell down"... so without chuckling too much at him, I asked him what he thought the word "lop" meant. Complete lack of awareness that some bunnies' ears drop. :D
How does my bunny already have floppy ears & only looks like he's about 2 weeks +. 😔 I should've known better than to listen to my hubby. He said after 10 days they eat on their own. I guess, back to kitty formula syringe feeding. But he still does eat solid foods. Just small portions. Thank gah he's been eating his vitamins 😅. My fur babies tho. Only 1 won't eat his vitamins but he's chunky anyways. I was wondering y I haven't seem him eat his own poo. This is the closest I have to go by. He looks just like them. But w/ floppy ears
For those who are planning on getting a bunny, please do more research on how to care for them and how much attention span you'll have to give them. People often get animal friends on impulse and end up abandoning them because "I have too much work," "I am not financially capable of caring for a bunny," "It's too much work." Please think through your decisions before doing something. Your actions will always be an effect to something else. And in this case, if what you're going to be doing is to get a bunny just because they're cute, please refrain from doing so. It's extremely selfish to be doing so and then abandoning it later on just because you don't have enough time for them when they would very much be doing so much better at the pet store itself. I would also advice you not to ask the person working at a pet shop for a guide on caring for a bunny. Most pet shop owners are not dedicated to bunnies and are mostly dedicated to popular pets, such as cats and dogs. Therefore, they don't know much about how you should truly care for a bunny. It would always be better to have a playpen or just let them free roam around the house. Bunnies, just like cats and dogs, don't belong in cages. Honestly, no animal should ever be in a cage. They should have a big enough territory for themselves and be free to do what they want without feeling trapped or frightened. Please watch videos from 'Lennon The Bunny' for more information. Her channel is entirely dedicated to rabbits and would therefore do you extreme good if you feel that you have lots to learn about rabbits and have any enquires. All animals require a lot of time, money and love to be cared for. And if you can't provide that, then please don't get one. Also, if you can, please adopt animals of whom are in shelters. People working in animal shelters often know more about them than the ones working at pet shops. I hope that you will do as much research as possible before getting an animal, and that you will dedicate your life to them, Just like how you would do so for a child of Your Own. And please, too much carrot in their diet will kill a rabbit. Please just do as much research as possible before anything else.
Fluffu :3 I WANTED TO GET A BUNNY AND I DID A LOT OF RESEARCH TO KNOW HOW TO TAKE CARE OF THEM AND THEN I REALIZED I WASNT ABLE TO TAKE CARE OF ONE SO IM GETTING NOTHING FOR THE MOMENT, I HOPE EVERYONE READ YOUR COMMENT
I want one to like adopt one or two but sadly, there's no such thing as adopting pets or animals from my country. Well, that's what I think at the moment because I haven't look to other places from far away but from where I live, nah. Just pet store most of the time even where I studied in college from a university. We rarely see a paper on their wall that there's some animals that can be adopted
Hi. When do Holland Lops typically drop their ears? I am trying to figure out the breed of my black rabbit. It's right ear seemed to drop at 9 weeks. Its left ear looks like it is dropping now, at 10 weeks. Could it be a Holland Lop?
Holland lops' ears typically drop around 4-12wks though it can take as long as 6-12 months for them to fully lop. Some Holland lops have ears that will never full lop and may stick straight out to the side.
What colors did these end up being? I have a litter of three and we have two blacks and the other I can’t tell. Reminds me of the brown looking one you have. Are these black, chocolate and blue?
Kathy Kells I don’t think that’s where they stay I think there just there to show you what they look like and if she/he is watching them they won’t them chew in the cords
I’m adopting a rabbit 🐰 and I found one ☝️ and he’s a white and black holland lop we are going to the humane Society to pick him up on the 14 his name will be sir peaches 🍑.
Same here!! I got a black and white holland lop bunny 4 days ago from the humane society, her previous owners named her Chloe shes 6 :( poor old lady was given up. Shes a total sweetheart and super active though her eyesight is starting to go
Aw I'm so happy for you! I've been wanting a rabbit forever but haven't had the money (plus my parents don't want me to have them. so ill use my bday money >:) )
beautiful gorgeous babies. have you ever had a rabbit have just one baby? my binky was apparently the ONLY kit in his mums litter. and he has fits and other problems and gastric issues. ive just never heard of it. Im wondering if that is why he is sick or the other kits died in the womb or something as the breeder didn't really say much just that she only just saw binky in the huge nest his mum made. mum and dad have no health issues. he is bread with a normal size rabbit netherland and a dwarf netherland seal point lion head. I just wondered if you had any idea. he has been very poorly. hi from the uk
The black with the silver looks like mine I found my bunny rescued him don't know if she was wild or domesticated that turned wild but she's just too cute
Hey there I am one of your follower and subscriber on youtube i really like your channel because i really love bunnies . Hope i coud have a hollanloop too but unfortunately the price of the hollandloop in our country is i can say that is that very expensive for me to afford 😊 hope i could have some too in the future and im really sure that i could give the best care to my hollanloop someday
samantha hill There ears fall when their slightly older... I have two lops and I first though that when I got my two but their eyes flopped as they got older
Sabrina09 No they’re not netherland dwarfs because if you look at they’re ears they’re not small, look up baby netherland dwarfs, they don’t look like that. I think the babies are holland lops but they’ve haven’t lopped yet they’re ears.
yo make sure not have any loud sounds around your house like your tv, bluetooth speakers, etc. rabbits can die from fright and try to be with your baby bunny because it can die from separation anxiety i jus got three rabbits two weeks ago and my other one just died so i’m telling you this so you won’t make the same mistake like i did
I am getting a baby bunny soon in like 8 weeks and I can't waiiiiiiit so I watch these to satisfy my need for cuteness lol
Congrats on your bunny! They are very addicting haha once you get one there is no stopping you now haha they are just sooooo sweet!

I liked when they were sliding around on their chests like little bunny torpedoes
When do their ears typically start lopping?
ISNT THAT DANGEROUS TO HAVE BUNNIES SO CLOSE TO THE Electric Power Cords they can chew on them and get sick
