I watch in You tube a fine mechanic from Houston, Scotty Kilmer, and he says all the time that nowadays cars are full of flaws. That flapper in the heater is one example. It is controlled by an "actuator" which is an electrical device which makes a weak plastic motor move the flapper, instead of designing a mechanic knob which would work forever. That weakness shows when plastic gets old and breaks, while the whole truck still works. Scotty says it is "planned obsolescence". And yes, the builder's idea is that you get a new truck. Congrats you just won on the system! Keep on trucking Andrew.
My Husband and I enjoy watching Andrew, yes he does tend to fix thing his way sometimes but I knows where to spend money and when not to spend it, why would anyone fix something any different on an old work Truck. Your repairing style is hilarious, I love your attitude, don't care about "quantity but quality", as long as its work its like new and that's OK, I think, for your harsh business, love your videos and your work, no matter what.
Andrew: Litteraly breaks things until they are fixed. Andrew at the end of every fix: ok that's fixed, good as new! That's how it should have come from the factory🤣
The key takeaway point: it's a work truck. At least he fixes his stuff. Andrew is right about the lack of quality in modern vehicles. The world would be a better place if automotive engineers would take his advice
I think Andrew should have his own car/truck manufacturing company. It would be in the realm of expensive luxury cars but you get what you pay for and he would NOT scrimp on quality. They would also be electric. That is where the future is going. Don't fret men, electric winds up WAY faster than reciprocating engines. Scary fast. The "stonewall" is the power supply. Has to be light and powerful and long lasting. That is getting hashed out as you read this. It will be commonplace. The youth of the future will laugh at the 9 lives battery. Actually, they do now. They will definitely laugh at the internal combustion engine. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE piston engines. It's just that there time is up. They will be phased out. Can you imagine what the snowmobiles, motorcycles and watercraft will be like? I can't wait. Flying machines, anyone? :-)
yeah, he seemed to be a little flustered, not for a normal person, but for what we're used to seeing from him. he's kinda fuck this shit when it comes to this truck.
You can't charge a ac system like that. You have to vacuum out the air in the system first. U get a vacuum pump and that will also test if you have leaks before you charge it and waste your freon. U suck out the air. Then you can charge it. You really need the dual gauge so you can check the high pressure n low pressure side so you don't blow something. Some people put nitrogen in the system if the freon lines have been exposed to outside air for awhile and condensation will stick to the nitrogen and when you suck the nitrogen back out before you charge it with freon it will help get rid of any water in the system. Your ac will be a million times colder if you do it right. I hope this helps. Thanks for the videos keep up the hard work.

Hey man you need to replace filter drier and orifice tube as well as vacuum down the system when you do the compressor replacement. Usually sold all together as a kit.
If just the clutch or pulley bearing gave it up and the compressor itself didn’t cook or lock up, it’ll be fine compared to what else that truck will be put through.
I was a tech in a GM dealership and some of the caddys I'd spend 20-30 minutes getting a door panel off to do a window motor. I watch him take a cut off wheel to the panel and I'm like 😳😬

Well, carefully (AC careful™) buying additional used vehicles to add to his fleet goes a long way towards allowing him flexibility and comfort when approaching repair situations - contingencies like necessity, financing and insurance on a new vehicle don't restrain him as much or bind his "just do it" attitude.

Drew S. He sounded like has was baked.
other youtubers videos:
‘i bought the tesla cybertruck ‘
andrew:
casually places an order at the end of a almost 30 min video
after drilling a hole in his dash and fabricating a mechanical blend door actuator...
Remember he had a design for one similar
Andrew plays the cyberpunk game in real life, can actually build you a truck if he feels like it ! heheh ! :)
This is the future...scrolling around and found one l haven't watched...awesome job as always 😛👍⭐
Your repairing style is hilarious, I love your attitude, don't care about "quantity but quality", as long as its work its like new and that's OK, I think, for your harsh business, love your videos and your work, no matter what.
AvE: repair stuff till it's broken
Andrew :break stuff till it work
fuck it till its fixed!
Andrew: Litteraly breaks things until they are fixed.
Andrew at the end of every fix: ok that's fixed, good as new! That's how it should have come from the factory🤣
"They should sell these things on ebay...call it a Dodge defroster" -Andrew
as long as you dont want intermediate settings.... AC has no time for intermediate settings.
You can put that thing half way for vent and defrost
The key takeaway point: it's a work truck. At least he fixes his stuff. Andrew is right about the lack of quality in modern vehicles. The world would be a better place if automotive engineers would take his advice
Watching one of Andrews videos makes me feel like I accomplished something today.
Same
Exactly😂
“I can’t see it”-cuts viewing hole... “now I can’t see it!”
Yep, that's the nice thing with newer tools and thinner metals it's like software visualization - so much easier when you can add a new viewport.
@@jlucasound He doesn't need to do it now that Cybertruck is coming, he likes it for the same reasons as me. I also pre-ordered the tri-motor.
Yeah and the fact they fixed all rust issues with stainless is great, and it won’t sacrifice strength with stainless.
"Anytime you can take some electronics out of a vehicle..."
Incoming Cybertruck-Diesel conversion video.
Im telling you this guy can fix anything. Best channel on youtube
I watch all your videos but 100% have never laughed as hard as this in a long time. Its the satire of the century.
this tops 2019 best Andrew Vids
Yup !!!
I agree this video was one of his best! Great stuff keep em coming .
And ordering a tesla truck at the end? Omg I couldn't think of anyone better to get one!
@@jaylast1958 Tesla's enemies would only have too gift AC with one and say "have fun".
Andrew was in a destructive mood this episode 😂
He really was
Haha right!?! I feel like he was destroying things for the heck of it lol
Yeah now I'm worried about the Cyber he bought at the end of the video
The cyber truck will never break down or be destructed
This guy is awesome some people think its boring but watching his videos he is a jack of all trades but a king at nothing keep up the good videos man
Lmao! He has absolutely no patience for this truck and it’s hilarious
yeah, he seemed to be a little flustered, not for a normal person, but for what we're used to seeing from him. he's kinda fuck this shit when it comes to this truck.
He's that was with anything with exception of his construction equipment smfh
@@chrisboek2346 smfh? Why?
So I don't see Dodge sponsorship in his future!
This is by far, my favorite video....you can hear the excitement in his voice when he figured out the heater controls....
"The bodies on pick-up trucks are so *delicate*
you tip them over *one time*
and they get all *smashed up*
for *no reason!!"*
we just take it for granted that cars get smashed up all the time, it does not need to be this way, that is funny tho.
Hilarious!
Patrick Wagz I’m sad, I came to comment that 😂
He is hilarious!
I know right. JEEZ!
Good call.
This guy lives year round in a non-climate controlled shipping container castle. Somehow I don't think he cares.
@@bosshogg6 He doesn't live there. It's just his shop.
I worked at a car stereo shop for years and watching you butcher the door and dash was so.....so....rewarding!
Also, can’t get enough of your stories especially when you crack yourself up, keep em coming.
Andrew: "Anytime you can take something electronic out and make it mechanical, do it"
Also Andrew: "The cybertruck is a good truck"
You don’t know if it’s a good truck, it’s not even on the market. FAKE NEWS
1 million dollars says Andrew won’t own one. Any takers? Andrew = Hard working MAN
@gv g What an arrogant mindset lol
he went from wanting mechanical to wanting alllll electric makes no sense
I think he likes it because it won't instantly rust out or get dented
I can’t wait to see Andrew “repairing” a Tesla truck with a pry bar and a grinder 😂🤣
Paul S and a chain saw too!!!
Hell will freeze over before he would own one of those femboy cars.
@@alphaomega8373 he ordered one at the end of the video
@@I6N54 You watch something iss going to change his mind.
@@alphaomega8373 I agree, it will have too many electronics for him
I love when he said the dash plastic was like Doritos😂😂😂😂
Andrew you are the new Red Green of 2019. I get a kick out of how your mind works on fixing things and it works when you are done. Way to go man.
Haha seems that way, I actually just started watching the Red Green show about a month ago on youtube I never saw it before that. It must have only been on tv in Canada.
@@whatsup1407 nope use to be on PBS in the US when I was a kid a long time ago. Me and my dad always watched it, and Andrew absolutely reminds me of him
The new RED GREEN SHOW VS ANDREW CAMARATA smack down on how to fix sh*t🤪😊😛😜😂😅
yeah, just trade out the duct tape for a welder and the washing machine motor for a skid steer.
He should of just bought a roll of the handymans helper.
Hey man you need to replace filter drier and orifice tube as well as vacuum down the system when you do the compressor replacement. Usually sold all together as a kit.
Or do it like he did and send it with cold air...it works
Andrew doesn't give a s--t, he's gonna do it his way or else!
If just the clutch or pulley bearing gave it up and the compressor itself didn’t cook or lock up, it’ll be fine compared to what else that truck will be put through.
Did you watch the rest of the video? Do you really get the impression he cares about something like that on this truck?
Dude I laughed so hard when you couldnt figure out the door and just took the saw to it then self tapped a screw in there hahahahaha!!
Whiteytidy yeah.. see that’s all it takes 😂
Andrews patience for shitty plastic interiors is about 20 seconds. Can't say I blame him.
@@TheMetalButcher 20 seconds is generous, in his mind he already knows hes gonna butcher it but he always gives it a go anyway 🤣🤣
I was a tech in a GM dealership and some of the caddys I'd spend 20-30 minutes getting a door panel off to do a window motor. I watch him take a cut off wheel to the panel and I'm like 😳😬
Never has anyone epitomized the term "get her done" more than this guy. 😊
"All right watch me fix this heater" 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
that was so funny when he said that! I knew we'd see that grinder again!!! lol
Disappointed, there's no chainsaw involved....
that was his " here hold my beer " moment !
I love his channel but holy shit , i think he could break an anvil with a rubber mallet !! Sumbich butchers his vehicles !! LOL HAHAHAHA
“You tip em over 1 time and they get all smashed up “ 😂😂
You forgot "for no reason" lmao!
"This is gonne be great! Watch me fix this heater"
I was not disappointed xD
Lol
@@ndimec2117 I couldn't stop laughing. My sides hurt!!!!
Bravo to you and your no nonsense, no-frils attitude to repairing stuff. You do what I have often wanted to do, but didn't have the cajones to start.
I can't believe what vehicles cost new when you see what pieces of junk they are. Enjoyed the video.👍🏻👍🏻
Watching Andrew work on the door of that pickup made me realize that Andrew doesn't give a f***
he just ordered a tesler
@@nom5205 I bet he's got upgrades in mind !
You're right . . . he doesn't give a f***. There are a lot of people like that. Is that something to be proud of ?
I knew this back when he installed the stereo in his grey truck watch that video 😂
I thought “not another notch up.. nooo”
Levi: I'm outta here! Seen that look in his eyes before.
Yep, Levi knows that shit's about to get serious. Lol.
"guaranteed to break or your money back" lmao
The rebar as a control handle was an exquisite touch. I can't get enough of him
Let’s take a look at the bottom of this thing...
me: thinks he will put camera under truck.
Andrew should have a DYI show on the Discovery Channel. “Andrew’s Heavy Hitter Auto and Other DYI”. Man I wish I could have as much fun.
What I like about Andrew is his naturalness, he does not pretend like other UA-camrs. he shows himself as he is. No wrong cosmetics , pure, unplugged. He's also not begging for any likes or subscriptions like the other youtubers usualy do here . Or even better, many UA-camrs are begging for money via Patreon here. Not in this channel, Andrew is too proud for that. My favorite youtuber. Andrews Motto: "if you like me, like me for who I am, let's get another job .." 👍🏻
11:07 anyone have flash backs to the radio "instalion" of the old pick up🤣
I spoke to soon lol
@Abdullah He put a radio in it all ready when he got it, back in that video I was expecting for the chainsaw to come out lol
soon as he said the heater isn't working i was like ''here we go again the dash is getting destroyed''
I love Andrews “can do attitude” can’t fuck it up, if it’s already broken!❤️❤️❤️❤️
It ain’t gonna be pretty but he’ll fix it.
hello
this man don't give a shit about "show and shine".
SHIT HAS TO WORK THAT IS ALL!
I think it's BEAUTIFUL. That's like abstract art or some other hippy shit.
It still looks pretty to me don't know what you're talking about.
"The bodies on these trucks are so delicate, you tip them over and they get smashed for no reason". 25:14 LMAO I love Andrew.
Andrew love your style! you take bush mechanics to a whole other level! Love your videos and for sure this one is a classic! Keep em coming bro!
I love a good car on fire story... been there done that. All part of learning your limits and humbling yourself enough to share your experience
Works on stuff like he knows he gonna be the last owner. Functionality is king!
Andrew taking "its just a work truck" to a whole new level! Epic AF!
