    The only fully useful video on UA-cam of this plugin, i feel like i can understand what the plugin really sounds like. Most people plunk 2-3 individual tracks through it, maybe 20 seconds of a full mix. In order to know if it’s a tool one would want to buy, it’s super important to have a better idea than a 10-minute video with short tests. Subscribed. Keep doing in-depth content, it’s super helpful. 👌

      Thank you! I am glad you liked my approach and my angle on it. I totally agree with you. If you do it right it is educational, everything else is great, but it is entertainment.
      I founded my Patreon on this principle.It's paid content but I cannot avoid suggesting to take a look there. If you see content like this on my channel, most of the merit goes to my supporters, donors and patrons, without whom there would be no videos like these.

    At some point people might want to stop trying to get perfect productions of existing hardware and use the communication of tools that give the desired results to their ears.... all kinds of combinations..... AA hadsit's problems not it's one of the good ones for character. Sometimes you need to watch the transients and make sure it isn't smearing them. (Unless you want to for some reason...)

    • @arizzoschettino

      Well said, I agree. I think there is a level of hobbyist-ic fun in, to get that 'model' of the hardware, in a tiny plug-in. Like those trying to get perfect details in a toy train. It's definitely fun and relaxing, then unfortunately when you get to work on schedule for music production, a lot of the fun can be lost and you need to have the least head scratches possible. What you said in the opening statement is very strong and, in my opinion, pivotal: getting the sound in your head to translate on the medium (be it tape, paper or a DAW) is what matters. Without educating your head to 'hear' a sound inside of it, it's easier to just be attracted to having fun with 'close to perfect' emulations, for the sake of it.

    Hey Alberto, what are your PC specs? I’m trying to get an idea of the ideal specs required to really run/enjoy Acustica plugins. I haven’t fully committed to the company’s software because over 90% of their plugins still bring my M1 Pro MacBook CPU to its knees, upon loading ONE instance😅

    • @arizzoschettino
      @arizzoschettino  9 місяців тому +1

      Hey there 👋 - that's a very a valid question. I've got an i7 9700k with 32 GB of RAM, all running stock. You are right about the high requirements. In mixing situations I'm faring kind of OK but my daily workflow is composing/scoring. I need to keep resources open for virtual instruments (high demands, as well) and zero latency to allow me to play in real-time. These two requirements basically make me run a tight game and Acustica Audio plug-ins are often out of this. I use them either as offline processing or at the end, in a mix bus or master situation (when I compose, I tend to call "master" a print that has gone through an additional bus of "finishing touches". Not a full-fledged, typical mastering session).
      AA plug-ins have improved a lot and they have been working relentlessly to bring resource usage down, but they are still heavy hitters. We often talk about this on Discord to fine tune and optimize our rigs to squeeze the most out of specific AA setups. When I used to mix for third parties I had more CPU room but in composing situations I need real-time and "all live". But my rig still kinda works! I have members in the Discord with M1 or 11900 and they can run more but a full mix with them is still a tough one, especially because they tend to spike and will introduce artifacts if you silver line the 90% CPU usage.
      Keep me up on how you set things, I hope this was useful and catch me either live on in the Patreon Discord in case you join! 🙏

    • @arizzoschettino
      @arizzoschettino  9 місяців тому +2

      Hi Antonio! You are most welcome, thanks for dropping me a message. Yes, I see Mystic very capable in pretty much any mastering chain or mix buss. On single tracks, maybe vocals or bass, but if I had to pick 'one instance' I'd go mix/master!

    right off the bat, besides their devices' intense CPU-usage, bloated file sizes, and incredible plugin-folder clutter.....Acustica's main drawback, for my purposes, is simply this: the lack of presets to provide the user (purchaser/customer/client) an idea of how the thing is to be utilized....or at least some general starting points. okay now i will proceed to spend and hour to watch you demonstrate this....as much it's possible to do so in a 1 hr stream. i decided to hold off on making any purchases this year-end sale....to boot i uninstalled all their free devices except Eminence. at least it's weird and quirky and somewhat easy to use...maybe that'll change in the future but my obsession with thinking i'm somehow missing out is behind me. life is too short for this BS and money?...well whatever that means to you...i stlll have bills to pay and not Acustica's.

    • @arizzoschettino
      @arizzoschettino  6 місяців тому +1

      I couldn't agree with you more on how you decided to hold off new purchases and re-evaluate what you have installed. I keep telling my students and patrons that we have more than we will ever need to make music, but in all these years of teaching I have also realized that there are times and people with home making music is not the real purpose.
      There is a level of enjoyment of fresh new tools that is about setting some time apart from routine and generally having fun by taking one's mind away from other things. There is certainly nothing wrong with that as long as we don't live in the denial of the fact itself. In both cases, being obsessed with tools over the craft itself, is - in my opinion - very detrimental and prevents us from reaching out to new heights and improve ourselves.
      I think there is nothing wrong with what you decided to do, if anything it is going to give you a better perspective in the near future on what you want/need (or don't).
      Thanks for watching and letting me know what you think!

      i can't be mad at Acustica for making such gorgeous, genuinely sexy, ware that i can struggle so with 'making-the-leap' when i already own over 2000 audio units alone...too disgusted to even look at the VSTs. after all, it's not their fault i have 'this little problem'. one thing which keeps Acustica in play (worth discussing) besides being so damned pretty, is that they, like some of the older smarter companies, still make devices which owners of older mac OSs can utilize ie 10.13.6. UAD isn't one of those....Izotope no longer...a slew of dummies out there....
      which is a good thing as this has saved me money on numerous occasions and will continue to do so.
      perhaps one day i'll stuff a few of Acustica's 'gems' in my grab-bag and add them to my arsenal/collection/toy-box but it won't be this year.
      i know they're hearing some of the complaints out there (some of which i haven't even touched upon here).....they look to be a fine company.....but like us ALL...we can always DO BETTER.
      towards that end....
      thanks for your time and thoughtful response....much appreciated.
